This is why I watch UA-cam way more than I do TV now only have a out 4 hours a week maybe more a week of TV and record it all with UA-cam you know what your getting and it's not all scripted like TV rubbish is 670 odd channels I'm subscribed to now on UA-cam
I'm retired dairy farmer now. When we pastured our cows we divided the pastures into areas that they could eat off in two days and had 7 pastures, that gave the grass 12 days to regrow, and that worked out well.
I’m very impressed with this young man, hard working, knows what he’s doing, loyal , the kind of person we need to keep our country going in the right direction..way to go..
He is isnt he. He reminds me of many ppl who are farmers near me on the family farm I'm surround by farms around my town and moved from a little norfolk village what were the best years of my life camping box field cars bikes you name it we did it
Now that the silo is empty see if the local fire dept wants to do confined space rescue training our local volunteers love doing that and its good practice.
Grandmother's Farm had a wooden Silo, I think it was made of Redwood. I saw the foundation of it. It was a manual unloader style. That farm did not have a liquid manure system. History is fun...I have several connections to agriculture. But for sure... your channel is a great channel and even better with a new barn. The drone footage was super. thanks for sharing.
Thanks again Eric for all the extra work you do to get these awesome dairy videos out as often as you do! I really appreciate the commentary you do to explain as you go. Please stay safe and keep well!
Thank you for the update Eric. Always fun to watch the process. I really enjoy watching and knowing the daily working of a dairy farm. Especially making the livestock comfortable.
@@TomPembertonFarmLife I was wondering if they had stricter laws and stuff like that. Will be starting construction probably next year on our new Farm. Have a great afternoon
I find it rather remarkable that the last slat panel fit in place on the long foundation walls. Even with good engineering on paper a fractional error in panel dimension and or placement could have ended with them not fitting at the end of the long run! Fine job there construction crew! Some people still know how to do a job right. JIM
Great video Eric. The pit sure came together fast. Looking forward to seeing the building go up. Yes the young guy is best to go into the silo, so limber and strong. I am sure Dad had his amount of time in the silos, now time for the next generation to take it over. Thanks and see you on the next one.
I never liked the harvest store silos. They were just so much more work (breakdowns), but you do a better job than we did. Great video and I am excited to see the new barn go up. That will make life easier.. I hope!
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. Its very cool to see a modern cow barn being built. I love watching what you guys do...even if you may think its boring.
Enjoyed this video. Most people don’t realize the amount of investment and design these dairy farms require. Most of all we don’t realize the importance of the people who own and manage them. This young man and many more like him in our agricultural industry are indispensable to our Nation and our way of life! Thank you guys and gals who embrace the life, trails and tribulations of providing the bread and butter for the rest of us! 🇺🇸 love ya!
Very neat to see the process and hear your plans. You do a great job of explaining things. I really feel "involved" in the process. Huge respect for the amount of work you all do, and how you treat your animals
A rare opportunity to see a build that is less than once a generation perhaps once a lifetime. As these pits last so long I can't see them being built very often. Not cheap either I'm guessing.
never been in a harvestore - didn't realize what the business end of pulling stuff out worked like - good video - and good luck with thinking through all the stuff above and around the new manure system :)
I wonder if the remote frequencies from the crane were somehow interfering with your drone? If so, thankfully that didn't happen in reverse, where your drone remote interfered with the crane, lol. Anyway, it's looking good!
Thank you for being who you are. What I’m about to say may not really make sense, but you really are one of the best things that’s happened to me. Because of you I met my amazing boyfriend (I have always longed for a farmer husband, but never knew for sure till I watched you) . Because of you, I knew for sure I wanted to go to college for Ag Business And because of you, I got one of the most amazing job opportunities to be the summer intern at my local Nutrien Ag Solutions facilities this year. You truly are an inspiration.
Nice way to put a barn together and it looks strong. You are brave to go into the silo ,I'm too claustrophobic. Maybe the drone just needs a reset. Good video. Peace.
The top of the new pit must be very level. The slats seem to be perfectly smooth between sections. Iam sure there will be some tweaking when it's backfilled and they can get at the edges. Cheers. 🇨🇦
Aloha from Hawaii Eric! You're the hardest working youngster in America. It is really a joy watching your vids. Reminds me somewhat of my past, I spent few summers on a farm while growing up in northern Finland.
Love the videos! Make sure to wear a respirator next time you clean out the silo. My dad and I have gotten mold poisoning before cleaning out the silos.
Yet again another great video! I am really glad that everything is coming out for the new barn. Sux you lost all that feed. Hopefully it doesn't happen again this year. Always a great video thanks again.
Videos about building a barn end up paying for the barn your building! This is why youtube is awesome, amazing youtubers like u get paid doing what you would be doing anyways but its interesting to people like me, that have only been to a dairy farm on a field trip and live in a city.
That pit looks so kool with the slats on it really sucks u had to throw all that feed out hopefully u get things sorted out with that silo before u start filling it again

Hey I’m a dairy farmer in Connecticut, I’m young and you inspired me to work on my aunts farm.
You should do videos also. I like many, really enjoy these.

So cool! Very Jealous at the moment Eric... We should start in a month or two finger crossed
Great stuff! We're all very excited for ye Tom.
Is it hard to get permits over there Tom

I will be waiting Tom for the video that is titled, the shed has been started

I always enjoyed the forward progress on the new heifer Barn. New Growth is always exciting on a farm
Anyone else excited to see the new barn go up? I sure am lol
I was waiting for this video update...the new barn slatted floor...yea.
After laying the slats, the new building now looks very long!, another great video Eric! 👍

It’s so interesting to see the difference between dairy farming and regular farming!
Its dairy farming is normal farming
Can't beat the detail one can see in your vids. Love it. Learning more and more after passing countless dairy farms in WI all these years.
New building looking good. 👍
Hello from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. Great show’s thanks for sharing with us.
Watching them build that new barn and pit is incredibly satisfying
Yes, but I wonder if he’ll be disappointed he can’t play with his basketball in it anymore. *grin*
Moving right along.
I know a excellent welder that's not too far from you and gives special rates to farmers..

Awesome! During spring the farm seems to come alive.
