  • I tried to repair the rusted hammer by hand.
The rotten handle was removed using an electric drill, but the rest is all manual.
After removing the rust with the rust remover, the rust was completely removed with a metal file.
    In order to smooth the surface of the hammer, sandpaper was applied in the order of # 80 → # 150 → # 400 → # 800 → # 1500 → # 2000.
The handle of the hammer was made by cutting out wood.
A wedge is driven into the last handle to complete the process.
I wanted to make a wedge by hand, but I don't have that technology right now, so I used a commercial product.

Gorgeous work done here. This might be an own discipline on UA-cam. I don't have all the tools that the «good guys» have. They do beautiful work, but so do you, and this everyone, even with limited resources can be a part of. I'm a fan!

    good job friend
but no need to show us all the sand degrees,
you can just write: sanded from 80 grit to 2000 grit
abd take a scene with the first degree
    thanks for accepting my comment

You did a great job here, thumbs up. No special tools or any machine, you did everything by hand .... you delighted me. One of the best works I have seen.
One subscriber, for this .... unrealistic. Here I am second:):) - My support. Good luck in further work.

very nice work! I also uploaded a video some time ago where I am restoring a hammer, but it is nowhere near as beautifully polished as yours

I don't have a big machine tool, so it's a manual restore. I've loved restoration since I was little, so I don't get tired even by hand. I will continue to upload videos. Thank you for your comment.
