JonTron has got to have some of most memeable facial expressions and mannerisms on UA-cam. The memes this man has inspired are unlikely to stop anytime soon.
You think he has reacted to the memes about him lol
Let's not forget that avatar 2 took so long that one of the actors in the movie was confused when it came out because they thought the movie was done and out like years ago
Really?
I never heard there was a sequel until just after it came out, myself.
Must have been a supporting actor. Still, the movie made bank.
@@DavidRomigJrDo you not follow movie news?
To answer Kip’s question about standing, sitting, and kneeling,
I believe the answer is kinky
JonTron also did a video about an animated kids version of the Titanic featuring blatant copies of talking animal Disney characters.
in the Titanic: Adventure out of Time game, you could prevent ww2, by basically selling Hitlers painting in the US, making him a famous artist instead. (it became famous JUST for being the only piece of art saved from the Titanic XD)
Imagine going to an art museum to see "the famous works of Adolf Hitler" and not having that name associated with evil lmao.
It was more than just the painting. You also prevented WW1 and all of its fallout if you were thorough. No matter what, though, the hidden plans prove useless.
This is a pretty deep cut in Internet lore, he’s really come along way from reviewing obscure video games
Kneeling implies your more under the desk then sitting at it.
To be fair, I had never heard of Avatar 2 until I heard you talk about it or Internet Historian mention it on his "in the field" series. Cool if it sold alot, but guess I lived under a rock too :P
I know Meatloaf from the Movie "Black Dog" which is also where I know Patrick Swayze.
wait...how old is Kip? i'm nearly 40 and i grew up on classics from guys like Meatloaf...
I have to tell Kip that there’s a titanic animated kids movie that rips off a ton of Disney stuff.
That Jontron also made a video on.
@@Kjf365 yes. Someone needs to do it.
Worth noting, Mr.Enter also had a really fun review of Tentacoolino that feels like it gets more in depth. That's the really insane one where the rats obtain a fake elixar of life and just drown a dude live on-camera!
If that name sounds familiar, it's probably because you've heard of Enter as the "Why didn't Turning Red bring up 9/11" guy, where he totally deserved to get clowned on a way that was genuinely hilarious, lol.
Jontron! A classic youtuber!
Man i tell ya. Classic JonTron was just that. Classic. Although i still love his content.
After this, you gotta see his reaction to/review of the Titanic *animated* movie(!) If you haven’t already that is.
The Titenic song is still gold and I recommend anyone go listen to it after the video.
This era of Jontron is the weirdest in retrospect. Videos were fully scripted for the most part and it was one long comedy sketch. It was the middle ground between his early AVGN knockoff videos and his more current reaction videos with fancy cutaways.
Avatar 2 made more money than ANY OTHER movie except for Avatar 1 and Endgame. It was a massive success
I stand corrected on my statement of, "Who cared it came out." Sounds like it was nest from everything I heard.
5:34 that's 00s money. Add an extra 20 billion to that number.
Meat Loaf was active until a year ago when he passed and his last released album was 2016.
Kip: “NO, NOT IN THE WATER!”
Yeah…I question some of the things Jon does in these videos too sometimes, like smashing game carriages…or…doing that…I seriously hope he’s got backups of those and filmed those clips AFTER playing the games
I miss when jontron did video games. Also the only thing I've seen of avatar 2 was some (NICE) art of the characters.
I know that's only anecdotal evidence, but I and everyone else I know who has seen Avatar 2 loved it. Before seeing this video, I had never heard anyone say bad things about it outside of "the plot isn't revolutionnary". It's without a doubt the most technically advanced piece of media I've ever seen, which is extremely impressive considering how chaotic the production went. Every frame and every shot oozes care and hard work and you can feel the sweat and tears that went into making the world come alive.
The plot is straightforward, that is true, but you don't need a story full of twists to make a good movie.
In the end, they definitely succeeded at bringing people back to pandora and delivered on improving that promise
I think it's pretty much like the first one? It's okay. I don't think it's as fun, but it gets the job done and it's a very cheesy competent story that knows what it's trying to do. The effects were super good, though, like undeniably the best part of the film.
Honestly, Hoodwinked is really underrated. Yes the animation isn’t great, even for the time, but it’s got some fun moments and is a lot better than people give it credit for. I’ve also heard that the creators had never actually worked with 3D animation before (although don’t quote me on that), in which case I’m inclined to forgive the graphics to some extent anyway.
Meatloaf also being in Tenacious D Pick of Destiny was great!
Does anyone else think that Jack looks like Joseph Jostar, and him fighting everyone is just the ending of Phantom Blood
I walked out of Avatar 2 around the time the main guy's son was making friends with an alien whale. It wasn't bad, but it was SOOOOO boring and seemed to drag on forever.
Yeah, my biggest problem was more the structure than anything else. I get what they were doing, but it's split into like 3 or 4 completely independent feeling plots for most of the movie and that really makes things drag when it's 3 hours long and you're left with unresolved plotlines by the end. But at least a whale sawed a dude in half with a harpoon rope! That was dope.
I still think about the song that was made, using audio from this and some of his StarCade videos.
I still put it on every note and again, it was good.
Meatloaf also played the dad at the start of Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny, he even had a singing part...followed up by DIO having a part too. It wasn't a huge commercial success but much like Rocky Horror Picture Show, Pick of Destiny has a cult following especially with people who enjoy Tenacious D music.
You've gotta due he's reveiw on Titanic the Legend goes on and the Disney game KnockOff
I suppose I'm the only one who genuinely enjoyed Avatar 2. Holy Jesus, it may not be as good as the original, but it's still baller. Kudos mr Cameron.
Given your reaction to the concept, maybe you should make watching "Turkish Star Wars" mst3K style as a donation goal.
The squirrel in hoodwinked is related to the one in over the hedge has been my own head cannon since I saw them.
Fun fact: This titanic bootleg game has it's own bootleg in the form of a harry potter game.
If you think the intro being used here is old, well jon actually used it from his very first video ever
Bat out of Hell
It's kinda funny to look at that list on Wikipedia now, and find that the second Avatar film also surpassed Titanic. The only non-James Cameron film to surpass Titanic was Avengers: Endgame.
KIP!!! You need a Dr. Frank N. Furter outfit your your avatar.
It might be good time to point out that there is currently a game being produced about the Titanic, entitled “Titanic: Honor and Glory”.
I'm always so conflicted about Jon. His content is downright hilarious, but his personal beliefs.... are definitely somethinf
Yes Meatloaf
Meatloaf was before my time as well but my dad loves his music so I kinda picked that up from him as I was growing up
His name was Robert Paulsen.
Titanic: Adventure Out of Time is actually a good Titanic game. One of the few Titanic games that are good. Most are pretty bad.
Meatloaf aka the dad in pick of destiny.
To be fair to Avatar 2, it still made a buttload of moneh.
17:06 he had a second bird?! I can only remember Jaque or however you spell his name
Yep, he had another bird. She was vicious but we loved her.
@@KipReacts I see
Have you watched/listened to the music video on this game as well, it's hilarious.
i really liked Avatar 2
and i think selled a lot.
I hope he reacts to jontrons disney bootleg
Just like everyone despised Terminator Dark Fate.... -3-
Ah yes titenic still waiting on that one 8bit game called Zodiac killer and 9/11 ……. People will just make a market off of any tragedy…
1910 times were sCaRrRrRy.
I had a titanic game on fucking floppy disk by the way
I walked out of the first avatar film with my dad, and to this day is the only movie i ever did this too.
And i watched all of the Watchman theough with my sister, which, shut you not, had me throw up into the toilet after i got home.
And i still think Avatar was worse.
I agree, Avatar: The Last Airbender was a terrible movie! The earthbenders could barely bend earth!
The goofy thing is that Watchmen isn't even really 'bad' in the same way most bad movies are bad? The script is still there and the actual plot is insanely well written and interesting, and the effects really aren't bad either, still holding up pretty well. It's just that Zach Snyder is the densest mother-fucker ever and he can't understand subtext to save his life. Which is a problem when the entire point of your story is being a multi-layered meta commentary on comic book heroes and the monopolization of power.
Some people would look at superheroes beating up a bunch of protestors after leaving their literal armored flying super ship and think "Yeah, that seems like a police violence thing and it's kind-of fucked up."
To Zach Snyder, that's just an excuse to create a cool 300-style action scene with acrobatic flips and slow-mo.
Considering that Chinese bootleg game dev (well bootleg game dev in general really) tend to copy paste their and each others' games (when they aren't ripping off official ones) there's a non zero chance that Titenic either served as a based or copied an Harry Potter game. I have a faint memory of watching one of Benzaie's (French youtuber/streamer and former That Guy With The Glasses collaborator like we're speaking Kickassia era old) Hard Corner (only in french sorry) where he showcased a bunch of bootleg wizard games with one having a similar gameplay to Titenic.
Titenic was the original, Harry Story was the edit.
@@jefflavenz7285 the more you know. Thanks
saying avatar way of the water no one cared about it is highly subjective, it didn't make as much as the first but it is still 3rd on the list of highest grossing films worldwide, not counting inflation, but still mad
edit: ah you looked it up never mind lol
it may have sold good, but a few years after the fact, the only thing I ever heard people say about Avatar is that
1) Sold more than Titanic
2) "No im talking about the other one with Aang"
3) They did it with their hair
4) That one recent meme
might have looked good, but the plot is forgettable.
6:30 So what? Chinese people aren't going to spontaneously combust because other people are having certain thoughts and beliefs about them.
to comment on the bit where he dropped the Famicom in the water i've long held a theory that content creators who do comedic reviews (ie AVGN, JonTron, Nostalgia Critic, etc) always get two copies of everything
one to actually use to play the game
the other to abuse and destroy for a joke
It could have also been just an empty Famicom shell that he opened up and removed all the circuitry.
Generally people consider Avatar 2 a much better film than the first movie.
My dude what the heck are you talking about a lot of people cared about Avatar 2 and it actually was really well received it's actually a good movie I would even go far as saying I think it was better in the first one
It honestly was probably the circled o floated in. No one talked about it so I assumed it was a bust.
Sucks this guy turned out to be horrible :(
You're not wrong about Avatar 2. That's a half a billion dollars less money before accounting for inflated ticket prices and inflated currency. So interest is down. Add to that the extremely long production, and Disney's current tendency to downplay their budgets, it's not as big of a win as people like to think it is. I wouldn't be shocked if it actually didn't make money.
Maybe no one cares about avatar 2, but it already has taken the 3 spot on the list behind endgame and avatar 1🤔
Lets be real, has anyone talked about Avatar's story 2 years after it came out? I dont remember anyone ever talking about Avatar other than it looking good and the fact that it made more money than Titanic
@@ero-senninsama1734 idk, all the people i know that hear avatar have seen it and yes the visuals is mostly in focus when people talk about it. i assumed that is what made it memorable
@@iopla3755 im not discrediting the fact that the technical work in the effects is outstanding. Its iconic for a reason, but to me that counts as a technical display more than an actual cinematic achievement.
If we are going to equate Avatar's graphics as the recipe for a great movie (despite this almost average plot) then we should be considering the Transformer series as a more iconic than Alfred Hitchcock himself.
@@ero-senninsama1734 who is alfred hitchcock?
@@iopla3755 Legendary British film director, Alfred Hitchcock, known as the "Master of Suspense", behind works like Lifeboat, Rebecca, Spellbound, and Psycho (with its famous shadow stabbing scene accompanied by orchestral string hits) as well as the television show "Alfred Hitchcock presents" with lots of stories about mystery and horror.
Jon: "Hey, game journalists, look at that! They're not sexualizing your women for once, isn't it all you hoped for?"
Yeeaahhh, now that we know Jon is a right-wing reactionary anti-vax type of guy, him making gamergate jokes seems pretty expected. Oof! I love these videos, but that bit really feels like that didn't age well!
