Pakistan's national library should collect Urdu works (books, magazines, any kind of writings etc) of past and present from all over the world, including Subcontinent and make a physical and digital archive of all these volumes. That should be made available to the general public. French and German national libraries do this task for all the works in their respective languages. This will help organize and standardize Urdu language. Since Urdu is effectively a Pakistani language now, Pakistan govt should undertake this task, as India will never do it. Urdu in India might lose its distinct identity and will probably merge into Hindi script. If Pakistan can not do it for our national language, then who else will care about it?
