One thing that I don’t recall being pointed out in your video is the option to brew directly from a K-Cup into the Carafe, it’s clearly designed to do this although I’m not sure exactly why one would want to do this. I like the 10 oz setting and used to brew my own K-Cup on my other Keurig on the smallest brew size of 4 oz first, let the grinds bloom for a bit and then brew it again on the next size up which is 6 oz, bringing the total to 10 oz. Since my older Keurig doesn’t have the “strong” button this was a workaround of sorts and it produces a fine cup of coffee. Since the smallest setting for brewing a pot in the Carafe is the “6” setting or 30 oz, for me that’s one more cup than I usually use. I guess if you had company and didn’t want to have to explain to them how to use a single K-Cup, by brewing it into the carafe ahead of time they could help themselves to the coffee when they were ready and it would stay reasonably hot in the carafe, especially if you pre-heated it first.
i just got one of these a few weeks ago and am loving it ,it is my first keurig and so far the only complaint is when i take the carafe out it pulls the basket open other then that i love it so far!
This is the machine I have. Previously, I had the Keurig 2.0. I bought this one in September. I like it a lot better. I am also devoted to the "strong" button. My cabinets are fairly high so I have no issue with the height of the machine. I use the K-cup side a lot more often than the carafe side, but I'm satisfied with both of them.
I spoke with Keurig and their “cup” is 5 oz. I enjoy this model but have issue with quantity consistency. I often brew the 6 cup pot but can get anywhere from 26oz pot to 32oz pot.
I believe due the capacity of the reservoir so you dont have to refill if you go over 12 cups of 5 fl oz. Do you recommend it? I have the K-Cafe and I like it but now we have been making probably 3 or 4 cups every morning and I am thinking to upgrade.
We currently have a Keurig B60, which we hate. I was hoping this was an improvement. I was ready to buy the Keurig K-Duo Plus until I found out it only has a 60oz reservoir which is only 7-1/2 cups (8oz cups). This is dumb on Keurig’s part. I will not be making a second mistake buying another Keurig!!
Hi Bryan, thanks for all the reviews. I have the K-Duo Plus and when I put the KCup in and close the lid, sometimes it will not stay closed. I have to shut the lid maybe 2 or three times before it will stay closed. Without a Kcup in it, it will hardly stay closed. I have resorted to putting something on top of the lid t make sure it doesn't pop open during brewing as it did do that once. I called Keurig about it and they said they would give me a discount on a new machine. That is not what I want. It still works great, but is frustrating to close the lid slowly a couple of times before it will stay closed. I looked to see if i could see anything that was obviously broken inside the lid and where it closes, but saw nothing. Have you any ideas or have you heard of this issue? Thanks
My coffee only brews 170 for carafe and 177 for a kcup. How do I get hotter coffee. I’ve only had the k- duo plus for 2 weeks and am disappointed in the temperature.
Lawnmowerman 219 hey! it lasted about a month but broke because I accidentally made a cup of coffee but forgot to put the water reservoir. Coffee was strong and had a strong button as well it was really nice I was so sad it broke
That still sounds like a machine error to me; if there's not enough water in the reservoir it shouldn't attempt to brew without you refilling and replacing the reservoir. If I were you I'd contact Keurig with the issue and see what they can do for you.
I would just not brew a kcup since I use a reusable bcuz I love the local coffee I get And freshly grind. I would brew single cup brew right onto carafe. If it has that 1-4 cups option
I’m very interested in purchasing this product. I like the versatility to make a kcup if I’m in a rush or a carafe if my time is managed. My biggest question though is when brewing coffee on the carafe setting, is it just as good as a “regular” coffee maker? Or does it ultimately come down to the beans?
Hi Bryan and thank you so much for all your posts! Im looking for an only single cup machine. Both my wife and I only drink one cup every morning. I've been watching your posts for a while now and you definitely are a man with alot of experience with the Keurig brewing equip. We know several people who own different Keurig machines with the...."Strong" or "Bold" button and have tried them all. We received and have used a K-80 brewer which has the "Strong" button for over a month now. We grind our beans fresh every morning and use the "My K cup" with the Strong button selected. Its still not to our liking. Since you have the new K- supreme plus with the 3 extra strength and temperature settings..... Is the cup any stronger and bolder as well as hotter? I've watched you posts on the brewer.....Just thinking of getting one and wanted to see if the coffee is stronger Thanks
Honestly I don't think the temperature setting changes a lot in the context of strength, the water-contact time has a bigger influence in my opinion and the supreme plus on the strongest setting has a really long contact time while still getting the cup done in a reasonable time. I know that brew temp makes a difference in coffee extraction but in the Keurig ecosystem I think the temp setting is a bit more of a personal preference than anything else. Some people hate having coffee without letting it sit and cool down while others hate having it feel not piping hot. If you were doing a pour over or French press brew then temp makes more of a difference and possibly if you were using the My K-Cup but for normal k-cup brewing I don't think it's going to be changing the strength or flavor all that much.
Hi Bryan got another quick question about the k supreme plus please.....been reading that it takes about 3min to brew a cup of coffee on the strongest setting?...is that true? Thanks for all the time you put into all your posts!

Since our keurig supreme plus broke we returned it and my parents want to get this one instead because it makes a lot of coffee
Hi 1Penguin1 I'm thinking of purchasing the k-supreme plus....just wondering how long yours lasted and how it broke? Did it brew a strong cup? Thanks!

TopOffMyCoffeePlease thank you!! We returned to Costco tho but might get the same one again or the keurig duo hopefully it works good this time (:
Can you make the coffee hotter with the duo plus?
Is carafe suitable for hob if i want to reheat my coffee ☕️

Can i make tea bag in it 😊
since when has brewing coffee become so gdamn complicated, sheesh
You sound like a coffee connoisseur. What is the ratio of ground coffee per cup of water do you use when brewing a carafe?
👍
