Subbed. Ditto what you said. Fermentation control is the first gate toward way more better beer. BTW - Light doesn't affect you unless you have a CLEAR fermenter. So, you guys using a bucket or a corny or any opaque fermenter - no worries.
True story on the fermentation temp control, very important. I did it a little different. I was lucky enough to find a free 6' chest freezer and used a Johnson cold control and bypassed the freezers' thermostat so i can set a certain temp. +/- 2 degrees while the unit is always plugged in and running. I am not positive that this is easier on the freezer unit, but a friend of mine recommended it. I can get 4 fermzilla 30L all rounders in there during the summer and three in the winter due to the need for heat. It is another way to go the Johnson cold control was about 75.00 on amazon. I do also have the inkbird for a little electric heater but I like the lizard bulb I am going to try that. Thanks for the vids.
Hi: I've watched most of your videos, well done! Early this month I bought a similar freezer and the inkbird controller (freezer from walmart, online, inkbird controller from amazon). The freezer I bought (artic king) was only $169.99 plus tax and free shipping. It has about 27.25" of height from floor to freezer door and easily accommodates my 6.5 gallon bucket. So far, so good. this coming Monday is bottling day! I live near Tacoma WA and the temperature is low enough for about 8 months each year to just need a inkbird and a heating pad. This summer has been crazy hot in the NW and we had the 4 hottest days (all over 100 degrees F.) since I moved to Wa in1983. I wanted to brew, but it was too hot for US 05 yeast. The freezer solves the problem.
Excellent, so I'm ahead of the game because I have almost exactly what you have. I've been keeping it within a degree of optimal fermentation range, they said 68. I don't have the dehumidifier. So far I see no condensation. Last night I actually had the lid open to keep the crazy active fermentation from heating it up past that one degree. Today it doesn't seem to be quite as hot. Today is the third day since I brewed this batch.

Thanks! I use glass for almost everything now. But I agree that people using buckets or other solid containers... No worries.

Good advice. Definitely more than one way to do it, and all can make great beer! Glad to help! 🍻Cheers.

Sounds like it's working out well!
Thank you for the tip, subbed to the channel. Keep up the good work
Thanks!!
Can I offer a suggestion? Get yourself a lavalier microphone. They're not expensive and they will improve the sound quality of your videos a lot.
Yeah I am working on upgrading the quality of the videos lately. Audio and video upgrades coming. 👍
