👍👍appreciate the video, sorry about the chronograph. You’re definitely not the only person to do that. I watch one channel on UA-cam who’s done it twice.
Why can't you fire in this 10 mm adapter 40 S & W when the 40 is a short version of the 10 mm ? It should work the same as shooting 38 special in 357 mag or the 44s on 44 mag or 454 then shooting 44 mag
Unfortunately it will not fire 40 S&W in this adapter. 10mm is the same bullet diameter, but a longer casing. The .40 drops too far into the adapter and cannot be struck by the firing pin.
@@theidahorifleman Awah, Okay so the head spacing with being at the end of the 10 mm case and the 40 Smith being shorter is why is slips down in the adapter - got it ! We all have a brain fart in thinking from time to time. Say I am in Oregon then from time to time I make a drive to Idaho would like to do some videos on the specialized AR 10s I build and see the uppers. I do AR 10 uppers in all the WSM cartridges and wildcat cartridges. I do also standard cartridges in the AR 10 that seems to have passed right over the thinking of AR owners like the 250-3000 Savage is an amazing cartridge in the AR 10 or 257 Roberts and the 6.5x50 Jap is a match made for each other in the AR 10. I do the 6mm Remington in the AR 10 and I it is mind boggling why this great 6 mm is passed up for the AR 10 ? My own 3 AR 10s I hunt with are done in 6mm-284 win ----- 6.5-284 Norma and a dangerous game AR 10 in 375 - 300 WSM that can nearly match the 375 H&H magnum. I use Pac Nor super match SS barrels so I get bolt action accuracy from the ARs I build. My chamber reamers come from Pacific tool & gauge + head spacing gauges. I also have used the Douglas air gauge X barrels for these builds. I am not about to use some internet sold odd ball brands of barrels I can't be sure to shoot well then have someone get all over me when the gun shoots badly.
The adapters, can be useful as a small game load if you can get them to group. As for shotgun recoil management, you can get light target loads that do a decent job managing recoil while still being a shotgun capable of doing shotgun things. In a nutshell you can be shooting 20 gauge level loads from a 12 ga gun. Recoil is mostly dependent on speed and payload and that can be adjusted in the extreme.
@@Lure-BensonIf .40 S&W and 10mm were rimmed instead of rimless cartridges the idea would work. They headspace on the case mouth. .38 Special and ..357 magnum headspace on the rim.
Somehow it survived!! It hit just hard enough to shut it off, but just high enough to miss the components. I didn't find out until the next video I made.
Check the actual damage on that chronograph. If you can order replacement parts, almost anything is rebuildable. An LCD display, a circuit board, a sky screen etc. could likely be swapped out just like components in a computer.
Does anyone know where I can get longer rifled adaptors for the 20 gauge x-caliber M6? I have the chaszel 9mm, 380 ACP and 38 super. They are great, but I'd like to get more options especially closer to the 18" my 3 are. It's extremely aggravating to find some. It took a long time just to track down the piece itself and had no idea it would be so hard to find adapters. I got the 20 gauge for a little less weight and packability of potential long range hikes. More than happy with the piece itself and all three adapters, just want more. Shooters box and shortlane only have the short adapters for 20 gauge
@@theidahorifleman I know, just being silly. The difference between metric and US (imperial) will absoultely screw you up on a golf course if your range finder isn't set properly. Shooting - wise, meters are more common for me, being prior service.

Any idea if the adapter will chamber and fire the .40S&W round?

Nice video. I just use shorty 12g shells and adapters in my single shot to mitigate recoil.
RIP poor chronograph

I think they would do much better with 10-inch barrels on those adaptor tubes.
Even a 4" - 6" barrel would be more common pistol performance.
I ended up buying two of those in 20ga to 357/38 & 9mm.
Awesome! Let me know what you think of them!
I like how there are caliber adapters available. But I don't think they would work in my H&R.
Ya, unfortunately they are only for break action type shotguns
They do have adapters for other types of firearm as well

It's to short.
Its the lighting. Cloud cover is messing with the screens being able to "see" the bullet.
but will it hit a paper plate at 25 yds?
I guess we'll have to find out 🙂
I want a longer one. 10 to 12 inches.

I enjoy the one I have also!👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸

Chaszel and Shooter's Box definitely seem to have the market. Chiappa makes some for 20ga, but they're 7" or 8".
@@theidahorifleman yeah, and I might have to settle with the Chiappas.
R.i.p. to your chronograph. Are you going to do a grouping video with the left over rounds? Btw, labradar is currently on sale. 😊
Was your chrono set to metric? 😐
No, it was definitely on FPS. The last 2 readings were in the 900s so it was definitely right for those.

I killed my chrono with an airgun!! It was an accident, but it took a 44.75gr .30cal pellet to the face.😂
