Thank you for finally allowing us to view the mixer in the arrangement page!
This problem never exists on the 2nd monitor 🤣 I'm just playing, good for outdoor production.
I am super color blind and really appreciate the new accessibility stuff. The high contrast setting saved my brain from head aches
Hi Tom! Great tutorial video as always!
great update love it
Can we get more collections please. And i need a scrollbar on the arrangement view mixer.
How about bounce in place in 2024? How about custom hotkeys? Where is really handy UX Ableton!!?
2nd this. Lackin super hard
C'mon, bounce in place's already there in ableton since you can Freeze a track. Then "copy" with cmd+c the freeze track down to a new channel and you have your legendary bounce in place. Literally 1 sec. I truly cannot understand this f'ckn rage for this shit. It's already there by years. Are you a pro tools jihadist? 😉
Disableton
01:32 to say it tells you the key/scale of a selected clip sounds like it scans the notes in a given clip and then calculates the key/scale (much like Logic can tell you what chord you are playing). But it doesn't do that at all. It allows you to preselect a key/scale for the clip. However you can have any random MIDI notes at all in there and in this case it will most likely always be telling you the wrong thing. You could have all C Major inside a clip identifying itself as C#m. That the MIDI in the clip *might* follow the key/tempo you have chosen for the clip relies entirely on you restraining the MIDI within it by using the clip MIDI modifiers. Or else just actually making sure you are sticking to the scale/key you have chosen for the clip
Looks good, thank you Ableton! ( Love the South African narrator btw)
Awe bra😊
Well narrated, thank you! Why are there no shortcuts for the Volume part of the Mixer and for the New Freeze+Flatten version?
I also want to be able to MidiMap all shortcuts like "add audio track".
It’s on the push 1&2 most probably on push3 as well.
Nice video Tom! Ableton - can we get the option to show time in the counter rather than beats?
Filters is the worst add-on to the browser!
Don't agree, I love it so far.
Still haven't fixed vertical zooming in arrangement view? Alt + mousewheel just zooms one single track at a time, as opposed to vertically zooming every track proportionally (like every other professional DAW does)?
I can do it, make sure your mouse is on one of the highlighted
@@primeus70you're talking about manually selecting all tracks (cmd+a after clicking a track) which highlights all tracks and then allows you to vertical zoom multiple tracks at once.
That's not what I'm describing. In every other DAW I've used (Reaper, Studio One, Logic, Pro Tools) you don't have to select the tracks to allow them to zoom proportionally, it does this automatically as default behavior. All tracks vertical zoom proportionally without having to select the tracks. It saves clicks, time, and makes large project easier to navigate.
You shouldn't have to spend the extra time selecting all of your tracks to then be able to zoom them. Also this doesn't work with grouped tracks. And the steps between zoom levels are not fine at all. They take huge jumps between zoom levels.
@@matthewbcarter unfortunately you cant, but i got pretty used to that limitation after about a month after switching to Live from Studio One and Logic.
I miss the LIMBO shortcuts😢
Was thinking the same.. Don't know why they changed the hotkeys...
Me too. RIP.
@@Gabriel_Mercado guess we'll never know
PLEASE bring back the shortcommands for show/hide return tracks (option+cmd+r), show/hide browser (option+cmd+b), and show/hide detailed view (option+cmd+l). I use these all the time. Am I missing a setting somewhere? I'm like this close to asking for a refund and go back to 11....
Glad to see all the display options, but t.b.h. you can achieve all this just by having two monitors/screens in Live 11 and clicking 'second window' (one displaying Session and the other on Arrangement)
I find the scale overlay on the piano roll (the purple blueish color) incredibly hard to see, even with the high contrast mode on. I am colorblind though
Live 12 has a problem...when 2 or more layers are applied...the suspend on the left hand keys when the suspend pedal is pressed stops abrubtly when the right hand is playing a fast riff...even though the pedal remains pressed..... wonder if anyone experienced this....am usin Arturia keylab 88 mk 2.....the Analoglab V and Piano V3 does not have this issue.
The device view ..can be resized ????? Or not ??
The waveform backgrounds are still painfully bright by being of the track color since Live 10, I thought we'd be able to change that on that new version. The programmers probably don't spend much time on Live like users do.
how do i now hide for example the output channels on the right in the arrangement view?
i can only find how i can hide it in the mixer
ok nevermind .. i've found it under "view - arangement track controls"
but if there is another (quicker) way, please let me know :)
Most of my plugins are missing I scanned a couple times for hours and they are still missing 😫😫
Why have two record buttons?, also It appears the midi punchin function button doesnt work....
rly like the update well done no complains but i beg you guys from Ableton pls give us the option to resize the toolbar at the very top i just can't get used to it i understand that some elements moved inside it such as the icons that show what view is activated currently but it rly doesn't need to be this thick can u pls do something about it would rly appreciate that the toolbar in Live 11 and before rly had the perfect size looked more modern it's like going from a almost borderless smartphone back to an Pixel 4 if u know what i mean (almost borderless but a big forehead) i fkn beg you pls change that or give us the option to resize it like the pianoroll for example but just for this toolbar pls pls pls
Is there a way to hide the return tracks in session view? The old shortcut only hides them in the mixer view..
Nope they totally messed this up for no reason, you have to go via the top menu now. Headache.
This is so frustrating.
where is I-o , delay right side ? icant find ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
fall guys creative ahh beat
Toggling return tracks in arrangement view is gone ? Give it back, please.
Yeah, they took away that little shortcut buttons, fucking stupid having to go through the menus to toggle them on and off!
You messed up the sends, give us the shortcut knobs down right side back please! there is no reason no sense in it to remove them! Put them back where they were you absolutely made it worse and there was nothing to fix in the first place. Please concentrate on fixing the PDC rather than mindlessly moving around GUI stuff...
It's really annoying and completely stupid.
Mine crashed, numerous times, I lost all my work from this afternoon. I think I will stay with 11 for a while... My excitement for 12 has died for now.
If you have a newer mac you need to run it on Rosetta. On the Albleton 12 app icon, right click and hit "get Info". There will be a check box that says "open using rosetta", I had the same issue, hope that helps!
Windows or Mac?
@@Neiltrama1 I have m2max and no issue yet 🤞
Hi, sorry to hear about the crash! You can recover your set with the instructions here: bit.ly/3wVpBmI If this doesn't help, you can get in touch with our Technical Support team via this link: bit.ly/3wIHDZw They will be happy to assist you with this. Thanks!
Nice! Now the new browser sucks harder than bitwig.
hey guys! how to hide return tracks in arrangment view?
Also wondering if there a way to do this
glad i'm not the only one who was wondering about this!
View / Arrangement track controls / Return tracks
@@ChetaMeister thank you !!!
Option - Command - R on Mac (Alt - Control - R? Windows) or visit bottom right corner of display click on the arrow and check or uncheck
Gross color palette for the clips lmaooo come on
How scroll right or left on the session view? 🫣 i am using the left and right arrow
why nobody has an answer? I miss the bar for scrolling.....thats why I landed on this video.....
Hi there, you need to set up scrolling with the arrow keys in Live's settings under the Display & Input section. Hope this helps!
@@Ableton But Can't I just move a bar with my mouse like in 11?
Yes you can also scroll with your mouse of course. Are you using Mac or Windows?
