Laggan is definitely one of the best trail centres in the UK and well worth a visit by any biker who likes techy single track...as well demonstrated in this video !!! looking forward to trying the new rides now 👍
So much incredible choice and variety up there. Happily binge watching your content and desperately wishing I was out and about whilst recovering from minor surgery. Keep up the great work!
CRC smashing it again! Still love the enduro trails the other side - so great to have so much choice if you're travelling all the way out there. Cracking edit as always Andrew! 👊
CRC have become the absolute go-to for good trails recently 💪💪 Laggan brown is awesome too, will need to do more over there once the felling has finished.
what an awesome trail centre and mix of trails, you guys are well lucky up there! - the new blue and red look nice and mellow but that last one was fairly full on! great riding, cheers
@@McTrailRider I'm defo gonna have to make a trip up there and check all these trails out - it's a dream at the moment but fingers crossed it'll happen - thanks for all the great inspiration though!

06:17 Hit that on Monday (1-07-24) on the Ragley Marley 29er F/R 2.6/2.4 and had to run supper low rear (Tannus Tubeless insert) to ride over the slabs even then some super hard hits on the rear but it was fun! First run dry then second run it rained making the slab very wet but they still had loads of grip. Only done the blue up round the reads a few times. Just done the Corrieyairich Pass to Fort A then right down the Great Glen Way to Spean bridge and back to laggan Sat/Sun so was pretty knacked for the full Laggan Wolftrax trails 🙃i'll be back.
New trails at Laggan looking great, more hard work and a lot of money put in here well done to trail builders. Will have to get back probably next year. Thanks for sharing! 😁🤙
Went there last year, I’m from the very south but a very confident rider and the black trail was incredibly amazing and is how a black trail should be! Loved the whole site and what it had to offer really want to go back again. Didn’t encounter the enduro stuff at the end of your video sadly but looks very appealing!
Absolutely love Laggan. 🙂 We have been 3 times now. Shame it’s a 6hour drive up for us!😁 Always look forward to it on our trips up there. Definitely gonna go do those enduro trails next time. Great vid as usual fella.🙂👍👍
The last time I was at Laggan was dropping my son Scott off with his pal Joe to race the SES a few years ago. Cathro and co were all there that year so it was pretty cool to see. The addition of the blue trail is a real bonus since there was previously nothing there that my wife would have ridden (the green loop really wasn't worth doing) so now there's something for everyone.
@@McTrailRider It took me while to find any photos. It was actually in 2019. That makes sense because that's when became old enough to be allowed to compete. Sadly, I think he only got to enter one more SES race that year down at Peebles then the pandemic hit - I'm not sure that the series is even running these days.

Cheers for dropping this video today! Had planned to go today (Friday) but abandonded due to weather concerns. It'll keep till next week me thinks. 🙂🙂🤘🤘
We go there when we go to World Cup at Ft William each year, usually a group ride - just be aware Reds and Black in the places up in that region are definitely not the same as in Glentress etc, GT are easy by comparison! And I had a wee look at the trails on the other hill and they were so steep - more Golfie/Inners/Dunkeld like - does not come across due to the GoPro effect although in some wider shots you can see the trees sloping away. I like the new trails retaining some optional features too - bit of flow, bit of tech to break it up. Looks more fun that the GT new trails which I rode last week. But the place has something for everyone - definitely worth a long drive! Hit Glencoe Red and Black too if you have time or camp/get a cheap airbnb and do a few days up there
The new trails definitely help to make the place more accessible for more people, because as you say, the other trails are not as easy as the grading would have you believe. Glen Coe is a great wee place too, although that black trail is outrageously full on🙈
We just did Laggen at the weekend there. I’m quite unskilled tbh, and my mates are a lot more skilled than me. I loved the new blue lines, there were right on for my limited ability. The original black / red was fun but a bit technical for me but great for my mates. At least there are options to skip the harder stuff. As you said, something for everyone which is good.
When you moved that branch made me think about down here in South Yorkshire how walkers deliberately put traps down to bring mountain bikers off just like that.
Laggan is great but like you say its some trek to get there. The enduro stuff is pretty hard core especially if you've just come from the trail centre 😉
Sorry, didn’t see this message. I have the Leatt enduro 4 convertible helmet, and it’s honestly the best I’ve ever used. I’ve actually just bought another one👍
This is a tough question I guess - but what is your favourite area in Scotland to ride? Considering a move up there in the next 10 years or so and I'd love to be able to ride from the door/very short commutes to decent trails. Everything is at least an hour away by car for me at the moment (unless I'm on the gravel bike...)
For me, Aberdeenshire is the place to be. Loads of hand cut enduro trails, flow trails at Tarland and the Cairngorms just along the road too. In and around Ballater, Banchory area in general.
@@McTrailRider Yeah I did wonder if that area was going to be the winner. Generally speaking the weather is better (or at least, more consistent) on the East Coast too. I've been to Ballater before and it looks like for both gravel and MTB you're going to have a good time
@@pmacfto the Tweed valley is the obvious choice, and for obvious reasons, but I’d argue that Aberdeenshire has better variety. This is all ignoring everything outside of biking though, so there may very well be other factors that may sway people one way or another.
Very long overdue update to the trails. Hoping to check it out this weekend if the storm allows! PS Hope brakes have to still be up there with the worst brakes on the market, that screech gives me nightmares and makes my ears bleed 😂😂😂
Don’t know if you’ll enjoy the new trails that much, possibly a bit on the tame side for your level. As for the brakes, I absolutely hate that noise too! The annoying thing is, most of the time, they are nice and quiet.

Loads of those gravel trails in Ireland. They roll better in the wet which is perfect for our weather, and like you said: They're accessible for all ages and abilities. They're sketchy as fuck when bone dry though!!
