I've never lived in an RV and now I'm about to. Mine is 22 years old and almost mirrors the one you both took on. I'm not a carpenter but I've done my share of renovating furniture and painting home interiors. You've given me the best road map as how to go forward. Reclaiming pallet wood was a big plus. Telling me about the paint to resurface ugly old countertops was another, showing me that you can, indeed, repaint those dated cabinets. I love your programming. Thank you for giving this to us all.

I just don't know how to get started, will be selling my home in Portland, Or. in the fall traveling to Newport TN and securing 2 tiny homes on wheels in a great new mountain Resort to rent on Air B&B then ??? What next??? I admire folks who have chosen to live abroad in a different lifestyle! Right on! 🙂
Rewatching this made me see how much Jared is like Garen. Specifically in his care when he was working on the trim and the TV stand. He measured and checked to make sure every thing was just right. Garen dry fits and rechecks things to make sure it's exactly how he wants it. Bree is full of energy and life. She brings the excitement, but she doesn't mind "coloring outside the lines" (or painting), I think a relationship benefits from having both styles. I love watching Bree & Jared together again.

I have some experience with those headrests in the truck. If you turn them around, it's much more comfortable and doesn't push the head forward into a slouch, which can cause problems with your neck eventually. Turning them around makes a nice smooth slope, which is also safer in case of an accident. I hope this helps. I love the reno. Happy travels! 💚

Great job on remodeling the 5th wheel. I am an old timer ⏲. When you first opened the door to the 5th and gave us your tour, I thought how perfect this trailer was. It was in excellent shape. Me being me, I would have preserved it just like it was. I would have changed out the carpet, cleaned the bathroom 🚽. In the end, you guys are you, and it turned beautiful 🤩. One of a kind. This is what I'm experiencing with my 'new to me' fiver. nail holes, screw holes, different screws and so much more. Mine was given to me, a 29' Fireball. loads of work, learning TONS, but having fun doing it at my pace. Your remodel is spectacular!

Adapted love seat looks comfortable with it's increased depth, genius!... Getting rid of the carpeting was a brilliant move, the pastel blue, white combo is classic 50's (white would have been nice... but I see how the "patina" still fits the theme, and 'connected' the couch in, amazingly, that was almost karmic!... you've added more utility and spaciousness... the defining characteristic that separates "tiny homes" from "trailers' is that "wood paneling"... too cliché and just screams "70s trailer home!"... yuck Well done, and best wishes, beautiful job!...
I did think it was too bad that the coating over the cabinets turned the white to yellow. I also think the white was going to look very nice, and rather than accept the outcome, I think it would have been good to switch gears and fix it rather than allow that yellow to take over. After all the work they did to get the distressed white look. Oh well. Perhaps some day they will tire of the yellow and re-do it back to the intended distressed white. The white looked so good and fresh, especially distressed, it was perfect.
Thank you for making this for those of us who are first time viewers. The background music is calming, sort of, but nicer than expected. This showed me that I am glad the work went well for you. Are you going to show us what you did to Jared's parents home on wheels. Now that you've had a few trips in it and lived in it for a while is there anything you do different. And do you live in it full time just curious.
I think, IF anything, they’ve quickly “grown off” (hate) the bulky office chairs when trying to cook. So… they probably roll at least one into the living room. Otherwise… they’re learning to “stack them” on top of, and inside of, each other. Now they’re thinking: huh?, should we just get rid of the couch and roll both those chairs there? Sometimes we need a couch. Sometimes we don’t. One other step they’ll never forget? Strapping things down when moving. Bungee cords. That’s one of those important life lessons. Duct tape and bungee cords: the savers of things… including marriages. It’s an awesome build. Great job!!!

When my son was in his “teen” years he wanted his bedroom pained black including the ceiling, I did not want black as I knew I would never be able to get the ceilings white again and as a compromise I put wallpaper on and painted the paper black. Thankfully, he grew out of that colour, and it was an easy job to remove the black and return the ceiling back to white. I was confused at first as I had already seen all the episodes showing the transformation of the trailer but soon realised that this was the full content at one go.
I love the red oak on ur tv stand. Personally I don't care for distressed look but it's turned out better than most I've seen. You didn't go overboard with it. The whole thing all in all is beautiful.

Preferred the original layout, wood and couch. That original couch material where in great condition, you could have just given it and the dinning chairs a wash. Those computer chairs are ugly and the paint jobs as well. Lol, you say it looks so beautiful and modern! You didn't upgrade but downgraded it. What a pity!
In 2005 when my husband and I bought our house. Our 2 sons were early teens and wanted black walls in their bedrooms. I said yes since it was only paint. It was very dark but easy to repaint years later, when they moved out. I applaud your daring to use black paint. I think your final out-come was well worth the initial discomfort of using the black paint. I never would have thought to do what you did! Nice job!
How cute! That's a great layout. Fyi. Grip tape your entry door steps. My pupp got her nail caught in a hole on the step and rtore her nail out. It was years ago, but I will never forget the pain it caused her. Broke my heart.

Adapted love seat looks comfortable with it's increased depth, genius!... Getting rid of the carpeting was a brilliant move, the pastel blue, white combo is classic 50's (white would have been nice... but I see how the "patina" still fits the theme, and 'connected' the couch in, amazingly, that was almost karmic!... you've added more utility and spaciousness... the defining characteristic that separates "tiny homes" from "trailers' is that "wood paneling"... too cliché and just screams "70s trailer home!"... yuck Well done, and best wishes, beautiful job!...
I did think it was too bad that the coating over the cabinets turned the white to yellow. I also think the white was going to look very nice, and rather than accept the outcome, I think it would have been good to switch gears and fix it rather than allow that yellow to take over. After all the work they did to get the distressed white look. Oh well. Perhaps some day they will tire of the yellow and re-do it back to the intended distressed white. The white looked so good and fresh, especially distressed, it was perfect.

Now that you've had a few trips in it and lived in it for a while is there anything you do different. And do you live in it full time just curious.
I think, IF anything, they’ve quickly “grown off” (hate) the bulky office chairs when trying to cook.
So… they probably roll at least one into the living room.
Otherwise… they’re learning to “stack them” on top of, and inside of, each other.
Now they’re thinking: huh?, should we just get rid of the couch and roll both those chairs there?
Sometimes we need a couch. Sometimes we don’t.
One other step they’ll never forget? Strapping things down when moving. Bungee cords. That’s one of those important life lessons. Duct tape and bungee cords: the savers of things… including marriages.

When my son was in his “teen” years he wanted his bedroom pained black including the ceiling, I did not want black as I knew I would never be able to get the ceilings white again and as a compromise I put wallpaper on and painted the paper black. Thankfully, he grew out of that colour, and it was an easy job to remove the black and return the ceiling back to white. I was confused at first as I had already seen all the episodes showing the transformation of the trailer but soon realised that this was the full content at one go.

I love the red oak on ur tv stand. Personally I don't care for distressed look but it's turned out better than most I've seen. You didn't go overboard with it. The whole thing all in all is beautiful.

Preferred the original layout, wood and couch. That original couch material where in great condition, you could have just given it and the dinning chairs a wash. Those computer chairs are ugly and the paint jobs as well. Lol, you say it looks so beautiful and modern! You didn't upgrade but downgraded it. What a pity!

In 2005 when my husband and I bought our house. Our 2 sons were early teens and wanted black walls in their bedrooms. I said yes since it was only paint. It was very dark but easy to repaint years later, when they moved out. I applaud your daring to use black paint. I think your final out-come was well worth the initial discomfort of using the black paint. I never would have thought to do what you did! Nice job!
