Get RYAN Gosling to do this,. he has had so many iconic characters. Half nelson, the notebook, lars, drive, The nice guys, La la land, The place beyond the pines, Blade runner 2049, first man etc. I wish he would do more interviews
You should watch Little Dorrit. She's absolutely fantastic in it. I was shocked to discover that her career hadn't really taken off after that and it took near 8 years until the release of The Crown for her to be really recognised as she deserved it.
Her accent, her understated style, down-to-earth nature, and her strikingly blue eyes is all so mesmerising. A regal-like persona, that I could totally see myself sitting opposite her at dinner, and just stare her into her eyes, listening to her talk about the weather.
Her voice, her blue eyes... 😍❤ Oh Lord! She forgot to mention Charlotte - White Heat and Lady Persie in Upstairs, Downstairs. I just love watch her in everything! Huge fan, i think she's a new Meryl Streep with a long career ahead! And im happy because im gonna follow her next movies/tvshows and everything! 💕💕💕💕

Absolutely loved her in Little Dorrit. She totally captured the essence of that iconic character. Largely thanks to her phenomenal performance it's one of my all-time favourite period dramas and I constantly return to it again and again. No wonder I was truly shocked to discover that after such a fantastic debut her career didn't really take off and for a very long time she seemed to kinda stagnate playing mostly obscure secondary roles. I am really happy that it all changed with the release of The Crown and she finally achieved the well-deserved worldwide recognition.
her exposition is so lovely. i very much appreciate her being so sincere with her details on the technical aspects of watching a fake of the moon landing first-hand and her critical thought into understanding of (mid-century) american culture. thank you for bringing more actresses into this series GQ! great content!

@@ds1868 there is. It's called RP or BBC English or Standard British pronunciation. That is what people all around the world usually refer to when they speak about 'British accent'.
Adora B Dearheart is her first role that I saw of hers that sold me on her. Absolutely fierce in Going Postal. It’s sad it’s not in this list. Fans don’t forget their first.
It's been a while since I follow her career and I just can't believe how famous she's right now, she's going to host SNL! I'm so happy and proud of her Claire Foy truly deserve the world. SHE'S COMING FOR THAT OSCAR
Hosting SNL doesn't mean you're famous or even a good actor/actress/comedian/whatever. Hosting SNL means you have a good agent with connections to NBC. She will fade into obscurity momentarily.
Out of the 23 movies and tv shows that I know of , my favorites (other than the Queen) were Season of the Witch, Unsane and The Spider Web. Iconic also means victorious and she has quite a resume.
GQ you really don't understand the meaning of 'iconic'. Claire Foy Is talented no doubt but the only of those that you could argue is iconic is Queen Elizabeth in The Crown. Iconic characters are ones that transcend the film/show they're in to the point that people who haven't even seen them know who it is.
Do this with Emily Blunt! I'd love to hear her commentary on her iconic roles and films, including Devil Wears Prada, Mary Poppins, Oppenheimer, Edge of Tomorrow, Sicario, A Quiet Place, etc
I came here because of Crown. SHE MADE ME SEE QUEEN ELIZABETH IN A WHOLE DIFFERENT LEVEL. Also Emma Watson,Emily Blunt and Claire Foy are my favorite actresses. Wellp ugh.. go brits? Lol i am an aussie right here so let me insert Rebel Wilson. Also I thought she was related to Mackenzie Foy. LOL : )
That's where I first saw her. Really enjoyed her performance and hoped she'd go on to more widely recognized projects. Looks like she's doing really well!
I just finished watching the crown in two days... No kidding!!! I am eternally in love with Claire... great actress 💕💕💕💕 P.s She's heavenly beautiful 😍 and I'm straight 😚
I think Claire is wonderful actress and its good she has some recognition now but her career is too short to be named iconic. GQ overplays with a celebrity world, really. Wish her luck though
Not sure what it is about her, the intellect, the grace, the color of her eyes, the cute body freckles, her shyness, the accent? Or just the entire sum of it all but i could honestly listen to this angel speak and watch her innocent smile for days without missing anything or anyone. Crazy right. Long Live Elizabeth 😋
I think it was the Crown that set her up to a world renowned actress for solely reason doing 20 episodes is different than a movie, we get to see her more of her memorable acting. Not even Olivia could fit the shoes, Claire made it almost impossible for the next actress to fill in the Crown main character.
I feel like I missed more than half of the content because her voice is like a warm blanket and I can't remember anything else.
Omg yes
i realize Im kinda randomly asking but does anyone know a good site to watch new tv shows online?
@Mathias Zayd i use flixzone. You can find it on google =)
@Jude Joseph Definitely, I've been using FlixZone for since april myself :D
I just started watching The Crown. WOW she's incredible!!

Update: I loved both Unsane & First Man. I liked Unsane a bit more though.
Iconic roles for an iconic actress.
@Shane Jordan SO many good films and THE CROWN within 2 years, I would call her iconic
@Shane Jordan They use the word 'iconic' easily these days. I mean she's an amazing actress, but for me, Bette Davis or Jane Fonda is iconic.
Not an iconic actress and not iconic roles. Maybe Lisbeth, but she'll be remember for being the worst Lisbeth.
Not iconic yet, but feel we are just at the beginning of an amazing career.
YASSSSS
Claire Foy, please, do an audiobook reading so we can hear you talk!
She did actually! Look for welcoming the unwelcome!
she did! she's done an audiobook reading of pride&prejudice :)

she speaks so humbly about it like shes eking through on these roles, but shes PHENOMENAL!
So glad they got UNSANE in there. Love that performance.

Anne Boleyen ?
Pretty sure they mean “iconic” in terms of the subject’s own life and career.
