I go across the grain, and remove as much hair as possible, going against the grain from begining can be harsh on your skin. So across the grain, then against the grain to remove the hairs missed by the light across the grain method. It's s bit more work this way, but easier on your head and easier on your foil shaver as well. Just a tip Fellas 🙋🏻♂️
Dumb question, if I Only got SMP on the top ish of my head not the sides, can I still use this? I have never shaved the sides of my head with a foil type razor so I don't know if "dots" still show or not there?
That’s a great question, definitely not a dumb question. The answer is hard to give without a visual… It’s all about how well your artist blended the ink on top to transition into the sides. I would suggest you try a blade or foil shave on a day you plan to stay inside, as it only takes a couple days for long stubble to return. Please let us know if and when you try it!
Best to stand in front of a mirror back facing the mirror then use a hand held mirror to see the back of your head then you won't miss any spots or have clumps.
Hi there. So I've had the SMP treatment done but I'm not to sure what suncream to use. I know it should be factor 50 but when I've looked into this some people mention avoiding alcohol related products. So I've been on the web and pretty much every sun cream ive come across has a type of alcohol in it. Is there a Pacific one I should use, or does that not really mater as long as it's factor 50.
get a upf protection hat like a bucket hat for the day time and you can use most of sunscreens because alcohols in them are nothing bad like cetyl alcohol etc is safe to use completely
That's all I've been using since I got my SMP done in March. Using an older foil shaver I had for years, Braun 7895 and Braun 8585 after a while using these foil shavers you get really nice shaves, The only downside I can see is that the heads to replace the foil shavers are expensive $40-$50+ My foil heads are suppose to last 18 months, but that's only for face shaving "18" months, when your doing a whole head, cut that time in half, because you are shaving way more haired area "Full Head" Great Video, Thanks for sharing 🤗
Cool to hear from someone who mostly shaves with just a foil. That’s good information my man. I hear that often from barbers too. The replacement heads can add up fast, and most experience needing to replace them more often than suggested. Foils do make a smooth shave though
@@s.k634 The same, pretty much the same. All good 👍 Can't complain. The only downside to SMP is you have to shave it every 2-3 days depending on how fast your hair grows. So that it doesn't look weird in public, where your hair is growing but your SMP is not 🤷🏻♂️ Besides that , most people who are bald shave every 2-3 days so they don't get that bozo look, so it's about the same as being bald, but with a full head shave look, because of the shadow SMP provides, people think your shaving your full head of hair. Which frames your face to what it was when you used to have hair. Also the foils used for my Electric shaver, will last me about 6 months, 9 if I shave my head after 3-4 days of growth. If I shave every 2 days, I will only get six months out of it. Still a lot cheaper than paying for a haircut every 2 weeks, and no tipping either or even Christmas Barber gift. One thing I hate about barbers is that some talk to much, like I'm doing now 😂 Also they never give you a free haircut but they want tip and Christmas gift. I say Fookem, I was cutting my own hair since 10 years ago after being with same Barber for 18 years and not getting a customer appreciation gift or even a free haircut. Barbers have become a bit greedy these days, So fookem. 🤷🏻♂️
@@ELEVOPR I can live with shaving 3 times a week if it will fix my bald look .Good to hear from someone who's had it for two years .I'm just tired of weating hats man .
You gotta go to a good place, the ink is different than regular tattoos so it shouldn't turn blue, it just fades with time and you will need touch ups, I had my smp treatment 1 year and a half ago and still looks pretty good, maybe it faded a little bit but that's expected. It's still the best decision I ever made.
I’ve heard many guys say yes and others say no. A good additive to using these foils is to use some sort or powder or talc to reduce irritation. Also, using a top tier after shave like Tend Skin is a good move.
It certainly was completed on all areas of hair loss, including center top. Perhaps it’s the lighting making it tougher to see, or you prefer a bolder Subtle P look.
Love the comment! Not the logic. You’re actually referencing the bright light that would look just the same on a man with no hair loss shaven 🪒 down all the way.
Thanks for ur posts, ive watched you in other interviews and i get the impression that ur much more sincere and honest than other SMP specialists. I have a question I hope u wont mind answering. Can someone who had SMP wet shave his scalp or would it look bad because the treatment contour & contrast would appear more obvious? If the latter, is there a better SMP alternative for ppl who wet shave such as maybe using a lighter ink? The reason i ask is because i normally wet shave my head every 2-3 days and wondered whether SMP is suitable for someone like me. I don't want to go back to clippers, and its my humble opinion that softer SMP treatments look more realistic than the full-on darker/thicker look. Many thanks
Hi and thank you for your comment and question! For us it is easier to match a wet shave (shave as low as possible) and for us to get smp to match a few days growth or more requires a series of sessions building up. It is certainly not as easy as using a lighter ink, but requires an artist who specializes in soft HEALED results 😁
@@scalp_logic thx so much for taking the time to answer. I wish i could go to you but I live in Europe and with all thr travel restrictions, its almost impossible to travel to the US.

@@scalp_logic out of curiosity, what was the thought process that made him darken it? also, do you feel like this made the result less realistic/believable?
@@nobodyfour1686 The desire to darken it was my (Joe) preference. To darken a result is absolutely jeopardizing the “natural appearance” so we proceeded with extreme caution. One of our popular videos “The Flashlight Challenge” showcases the most up to date result healed.

Andis foil shaver
Wahl fivestar foil shaver
Babybliss pro double foil
All three of these are great options
if i use a foil shaver, w/ my SMP tho, will it take it down to short on sides where u can’t see hair follicle “dots” of non-treatment areas?
It should all be smooth and blended if you shave all the way. 👌🏼
A blade is always gonna be quicker and closer, but a foil won't allow for ingrown hairs, whereas a multiblade can let it occur.
Thank you for sharing, that is great information for a bald man to have:)
Can use the foil shaver wet, or just dry without product? Thanks for replying.
This particular shaver is for just dry shaving. There are options for wet foil shavers as well. That’s a good question, thank you!

While using rbbing alcohol, on your SMP cause any damage or will it make the SMP fade? Thank you.
Rubbing alcohol can and will dry skin. Dry skin can and will fade away smp. This can be either subtle or significant.
