Holy crap! I was so scared of making my own environments for the game I’m making but THIS not only saves a lot of time but will make my stuff look so much better. This was so motivating!!! Thank you!
brooooooooo that trick is so incredible. I was afraid i have to draw every single gras culm pixel per pixel. This is such a timesaver. Thanks for the video
thank god i found out your channel when i saw your subscribers i was like nah he deserves more this trick was so useful you could may try addin the shortcut keys or text for the steps
Bro my man deserves more subs Also question how do you make the branches and the trunk when I do it it’s so hard and when I do it it just doesn’t look right with the tree any tips?
Thanks! I look up interesting tree trunk shapes online. Then its just starting with a broad base and keep adding branches that get thinner and thinner with each sub branch. It is a pattern that you can find a lot in nature, from broccoli to blood vessels.
@@ArabGameDev there are a couple of videos on my channel in which I show it, but can make a more focused video on character animation. There is a free aseprite animation template you can use in this video ua-cam.com/video/8PbKm9Dr_2o/v-deo.html
It's a real game and it comes out this summer :) Check it out on steam: store.steampowered.com/app/1757920/Astral_Flux/ You can get the early access version with 50% discount on itch: cosmocat.itch.io/astral-flux (you get the full game on steam for free when it launches if you buy it now).
At 4:50 , you start to shade over a few transparent pixels inside the tree. When I use the shading (fyi, I have the base color selected in the group palette), it shades everything except the empty transparent pixels. When you do it, it looks like you're shading + some kind of light opacity effect on your transparent background pixels. How do you shade with that opacity effect over empty pixels?
I’m not sure, but I think these pixels are not colored. Hard to see though. If they are, I have no idea how. Haha. I believe I can only paint within the base color I painted with, which is also part of the shading colors I selected.
ı use ctrl b to make new brush but it doesn't work like this more like There is a transparent layer of the thing you choose and you make them seeable with that brush
Did you paint with one of the colors in your shading ink first? Once you select the shading ink, you can only paint on top of colors selected for the shading ink. Does that help?
yes this helped 100%!!!!! I amm not sure why that didnt translate in my head when you explained in the video. thank you so much for the quick response!!!! what a new way to get some serious depth and texture!!!!
@@Studio_VDS i already figured it out, what i mean about the gap is the brush selection type beside the brush set and i just need to choose the "paint brush" selection
I agree that it is too noisy :) The technique is still useful. If you take a bit more time with it and use the brush as a stamp without the ink shading part it can get very clean :)
Holy shit. I used to draw every individual leaf myself. What a fool I've been!
Thanks man!
Haha, powerful tool no? Glad it was helpful!
Dude, that's crazy! This trick can be used for so many things. I never would have thought of this on my own

Looks interesting, but tiny bit messy
I agree. If you take a bit more time with this technique you can get pretty clean results though :) went a bit fast here
Is that a real game or is it just a demo game used for your tutorials?

WOW This is a amazing tip, thank you so much for sharing! Which palett do you using?
No problem! Cant remember which palette though… 🤔
i think is this a 128 color -> lospec.com/palette-list/aap-splendor128-1x.png
for some reason when i use a custom brush, right clicking with the shading tool just stops working? i cant firgure our what is causing this :(
Does it work at all with the shading tool?
