This was probably an Innes song without any intent on mimicking a Beatles song. It's Beatle influenced no doubt but it's not recognisbly based on anything. This is my favourite Rutles song.
the guy playing "stig" is Rikki Fataar, who was in the beach boys for a number of years as a drummer ( after dennis busted up his arm very badly) and sang on a couple of their albums , and this is him singing.
Rikki was a member (along with Blondie Chaplin) of the South African group The Flames . Carl Wilson produced their album The Flame, making them the only artist other than the Beach Boys to appear on the Brother Records label.
he did more than tour with them he was the drummer after dennis wrecked his hand, , he appeared on 3 albums ( holland/carl and the passions so tough/ beach boys in concert) and wrote a few songs on the two studio albums and sang them
I'm looking at you. You're looking at me. Between us, it's all so easy to see. We were made for each other, girl. We were made for each other. Between us - love that we've got. Between us - two hearts are one. Between us - nothing can come between us. Whatever we do, whenever we kiss. Between you and me, it's not near a miss. We were made for each other, girl. We were made for each other. I'm looking at you. You're looking at me. Between us - love that we've got. Between us - two hearts are one. Between us - nothing can come between us. Between us - nothing can come between us. Between us - nothing can come, nothing can come between us.
Heh...I love how this movie always has characters being frightened by people was less tough than themselves; I think there was a similar joke about some gang bikers being frightened of one of their female members, but I can't really remember it.
What he would do, is take segments/styles & hooks from a couple of differents tunes & combine it. And I Love Her/I'll Be Back/If I Fell... squashed into one !
I don't think all of their songs are exactly parodies of Beatles songs. I believe some of them they just wrote to sound like a Beatles song, and they do a great job of it.
I wonder why Rikki who portrayed Stig couldn't have any talking roles in the film? Sure, George was the quiet Beatle, but he was social around everybody.
I don't think it spoofs a specific song ... it's kind of a generic early beatle ballad with acoustic guitar & harmonies. It does lift the percussion from "And I Lover Her"
It must of been Leggy,s editing...but im sure they sacked him, apparently he,s doing the do with with a peters and lee tribute act...good ole leggy,he always chased the talent
Jaja, brownie George! Despite the fact that Eric Idle looks more as George than Rikki, this is a great song, more beautiful because dont use the same structures of any Beatles song
How mean. I don't know what kind of person your sister was but I suspect a little part of you went with her...,perhaps? Anyway love them Rutles! YEAH!!
And it stands on its own as a superb song - probably my favourite Rutles song
Stig was amazing ,..all things must pass,..
Did any one else notice that Stig's guitar changes from acoustic to electric in each shot?
Yeah
That's means "I'm dead" in Himalayan sign language.
I think Kubrick directed this music video
He was just that good!
@@CP-gs8yqfake!
A legend that will last a lunch time. ;)
lol

Definitely has some And I Love Her influence...
What about George's song: 'I need You'? (from Help).
This is a great song
The Beatles did get back together in the mid 70's and fooled everyone by calling themselves The Rutles.
Brilliant band and brilliant parody.
The Bobby who says "One of 'em screamed in me ear" is the late, great Ollie Halsall who played lead guitar and bass on the soundtrack.
That singer was a Beach Boy briefly. Played drums on the Holland album
"its hard being a living legend"....Ron Nasty,circa 1965
He's Rikki Fataar... =)
Great Song, and a awesome singer... the quiet Rutle
Oh Stig! 😍
RIP Innes

And to think, Stig never said a word the whole movie. Talk about parodying the quiet one to the extreme.
so brilliant this was,
Stig shows his super talent. His guitar switches from an acoustic to a Gretsch in mid song. Now THAT'S Rutle-ific.
LOL "one of them screamed in me ear" rofl
Its the bloody rutles , England will never be the same
Love the Rutles.
That's Rikki Fataar as Stig O'Hara singing that song. He's a South African musician who back in the 1970's toured with The Beach Boys.
I'm looking at you. You're looking at me.

They're really bigger than Rod!
hahahaha
The Rutles are more popular than L. Ron Hubbard.
Everyone is

Dianetics
I agree. I thought I was the only one
What you said made me laugh my arse off....haha! I'm still laughing now...haha. Its always funny until someone gets hurt, then its hilarious.....
0:36. Notice how the guitar that Ricky has changes.
No, the bobby is played by actor Bunny May. Ollie ("Leppo") only appears in a photo of them in their Hamburg days.
The beginning - totally "Here there and everywhere".
Oh yeah!
I don't quite remember this one. 🇺🇸
Songs i hear:
And i love her
Devil in her heart
Nowhere man
Stig O'Hara!!
Stig has been dead for ages, honestly.
I screamed in my mum's ear today (I might be meeting Michael Palin at a booksigning) I wonder if she feels the same as the police officer lol.
@MyPyroAlex Sounds like a mix of "If I Fell" and "And I Love Her."
Heh...I love how this movie always has characters being frightened by people was less tough than themselves; I think there was a similar joke about some gang bikers being frightened of one of their female members, but I can't really remember it.
Bigger dan life !
Rutlemania!!!!!!!!!
The guy playing George, his guitar changes from acoustic to electric and back to acoustic.
I meant "way less", not "was less".
What he would do, is take segments/styles & hooks from a couple of differents tunes & combine it. And I Love Her/I'll Be Back/If I Fell... squashed into one !

"If I Fell"
It made for a good gag
gag spelled backwards is....... still a gag!
Then they realized it wasen't leggy's fault so they sacked the guys that sacked leggy! LOL
@Tabs2409 EVerybody's bigger than Rod! :-P
Then they started to take tea....

The band Oasis dreamt of being
I wonder if Neil wonders what might have been if he'd put this out instead of Bonzo Dog Doo Dah?
The Beatles were actually a parody of The Rutles.
Fuck yeah...It seems to me that McCartney and company are nervously smoking on the sidelines...

@junkie4vids Some kids just have nothing better to do. lol
Teehee
Give peas a chance.....or cauliflower
Sounds a little Beach-Boyish.
PLUS i think that these are not the real Beatles
I don't believe it! Looks to me we can see where the Beatles stole all their material and inspiration!
I'm pretty sure thier trying to make a joke.
