    About the Project:
Sunset City is a series based on the US state of Florida. Not just taking inspiration from the most iconic tourist destinations or glamorous beaches, Sunset City will focus on capturing the entire state from North to South. We will cover such cities as Miami, Tampa and Orlando, as well as some towns in between. Most importantly Florida's natural landscaping spanning from the tropical beaches to the vast wetlands of the Everglades.

My favorite part of the Vice City map was that small weird island in the north of the map, Prawn Island.
The feeling those haunted abandoned mansions give me as a kid is so nostalgic. Plus the movie studio just across the street. It would be amazing if you can create something similar

As for storyline in sunset beach, although Gianni Versace didn’t buy the Versace mansion until the 90’s, the Versace mansion was built in the 1930’s on ocean drive. To bring this into sunset beach, I think it would be perfect to add a fashion designer into the world similarly to Versace who gets caught up in gang related activities (although not intending to) in order to make a name for himself. Maybe he accidentally starts the sunset beach Italian mafia, or just becomes a pawn to wash their dirty money.

One gang I imagine being in Sunset City is obviously the Italian Mafia. The Mob Comission is going to be represented by the Caruzzo Crime Family.
The Caruzzo Crime Family, headed in 1980s by Franklin "Big Frank" Caruzzo, was founded in the late 1890s and started business as carriage robbers in the small town that would soon be known as SC. Soon, they begin bribing city officials and got entangled in the city politics. Soon as the train lines came and the city grown in area and population, Big Frank's father (former mob don, Guido Caruzzo), changed to smuggling cuban cigars into the US.
Their sucess catched the eyes of The Comission on New York and they became alligned and allied to the Five Families of NY in the 1940s.
Now with Big Frank in power, the times are different: dancing, doing dru9s, getting drunk and having s3x is the way to live in SC. Knowing that this is the way to make huge money, Frank decided to move their operations into these methods. Caruzzo Crime Family invested in nightclubs, wh0r3houses, bars and in warehouses near the water so they could store drugs, boats and planes for their drug smuggling operation.
The Caruzzo Crime Family main neighbourhood of operations is in Sunset Beach!

I do the same thing, but I'm obsessive about making sure everything in the city has an address. I'll name hotels and stuff but I usually give all buildings an actual address. Like you said, it's nice to be able to click on a cim and actually know just by addresses where they're coming from and where they're going.

I continue to love urban environments in games. I had one of my peak gaming moments in GTA VC - robbing a store in freeroam, making my getaway on a dirtbike, busting wheelies down the coastal road at sunset, with Broken Wings on the radio. Good times! :)

We're really ending on a high note with CS1 - Even though the series will (hopefully) continue for quite a while after the release of CS2, I love how we're now getting to some of the most anticipated episodes ever, and how you've been executing these areas so nicely! The release of CS2 will be the start of an era, but also the end of an era, and I'm sure we can all look back at episodes like these in 8 years, when CS3 is on the way, and admire what we were able to do and capture here in 2023. Fantastic work!

It would be cool to have a sports team for sunset city that has ties with the mobs. Maybe the star player has gotten into some trouble and is forced to throw/fix the big game for the gangs that are betting on sports.
I think this could be an awesome little side story😎

    Building idea:
Since another gang has a sketchy bar to hangout in, how about a counterpart for the cubans called "The Rose Lounge". Since they seem like they are trying to be classier, it could be a nice place as well with flowers decorating it. Could potentially be a winery as well.
    Love the series!

Great video! Just wanted to say - if you haven't yet, you should really watch Miami Vice. Not only is it the inspiration behind your inspiration (GTA: Vice City), but it's also an excellent show that really gives a detailed and amazingly stylish view of Miami, and particularly Miami Beach in the 1980s.

    Hotel idea:
Balneario Hotel is an old small 3-star hotel that was built before most buildings in the area. There are a few palm trees that serve as decoration as well as bushes surrounding the perimeter. This hotel is mostly used as a "prop" nowadays, where the mafia has its secret meetings. from the outside, it looks like a casual hotel.

Miami Beach is looking really nice and fancy! But also super seedy with the new Cuban Mafia in it. It really makes the place a lot more interesting with the gangs simply hanging around their own territory, I wonder if they'll serve as antagonists to Mr. Burgunsy (I think that's their name) later down the storyline. Can't wait for more episodes.

Miami Vice and Vice city guy here. I have some suggestions:
1: heli-pad on in the ocean? That would be so excessive like 80s Miami.
2: water activities like boat racing, sea planes etc
3: stiltsville was such iconic creatures in Vice city, some on the sea would make the city more historic

Yarrick's Inn, a older more rundown hotel/inn which was established earlier than most of the hotels and resorts on the island. Yarrick's inn has a small rundown carpark and a few small bushes for detail, along with this is has a a pretty terrible view of the ocean as buildings now block it's view of the shore. around the back you'll find a few steps down into an entrance, this is where an illegal money laundering scheme is taking place. overall Yarrick's inn has seen better days but it's new owners want it to stay that way.

For a nightclub on Ocean Drive: The "Babylonia" is a glitzy disco-themed bar and dance club with some shady bits of history. Perhaps the former spot of a turf war between rival gangs that became a calm area where people from all gangs drink, talk, and party.

I have a cool gang idea and you midght want to ad this to Sunset City
The gang is calld the "Everglade Chefs" (of course this name can be change)
They have a littel complex in the everglades, you can only reach them if you follow a poorly maintained muddy road or by boat. A few rusty sheds and a barrack as well as a dock form their complex. Their complex could look a bit like the concrete area below the Florida National Parks Association on google earth.
The gang is the main supplier to the dark parts of sunset city. The Everglade Chefs have anything between simple grass to m3th over to speed all stored and made in their sheds.
They make good mony with their business but they use it mostly to shut down competitors or to get easier around the police by corrupting cops. Some "goods" also go to the near by keys where the Chefs have a good relationship with a fellow gang
I'd loved to see how this turns out.
    (sorry for the bad writing)

"El Vendetta" would be a cool name for the mafia because it exudes an aura of mystery and vengeance. It suggests a group that doesn't forget past slights and is willing to take matters into their own hands. The use of "El" adds a touch of sophistication and an international flair, making it sound like a powerful and secretive organization with a global reach. It's a name that commands respect and fear, which are essential qualities for any formidable mafia group. Additionally, rumors circulate that they discreetly control several legitimate businesses, further enhancing their mystique and influence in both the criminal underworld and the business world.

The Neon lights in CS1 are actually feesable and look amazing, you just need to overuse PO, for a reference Akruas's Asturis shows how to do it, mainly in any of the bridge builds or large pedestrian plazas. If you want to take another crack it at it, might be worth checking out the process/result. It would be a shame to miss out on that neon glow, especially since Vice City is 80% neon.

Being a Miami native, I'm so happy watching this series as it's coming out so beautifully. Anyway, if I may make a suggestion, though the suggestion might come too late, you should look up Lincoln Road in South Beach. It's known for being the first pedestrian mall in the nation and was part of the Miami Modern Architecture (MiMo) movement in the 1950s. Also, look up Hialeah Park Race Track; it is one of the oldest existing recreational facilities. It was built in the 1920s as a playground for the rich until the city became a refuge for the Cuban working class. The facility became abandoned in 2001 and was reopened in 2013 as a fully-fledged casino. Perhaps you can consider adding it to your Cuban mafia storyline.

Hey! Love your videos. Since you often draw from real cities, I would love to suggest San Diego for your next city! It offers a mix of coastal areas, hills, and cityscapes. You'd get to play with diverse architecture from Victorian era buildings to modern downtown skyscrapers. Additionally, you could do so much with landmarks like the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, and SeaWorld! The harbor and Naval Base would also be great for maritime features. While not the best, you would love the transportation infrastructure, especially its train networks haha. Just a thought!

Would be hilarious to have a hotel with a gibberish name, like "The Warfgarble" or the "Snerfmandel". They could cater to foreign visitors and have rooms that have more of a European feel/theme to them.

You could name the Cuban gang something along the lines of "Los Cigarros" or "Los Tabacos", capturing the essence of the cigar-puffing Cuban mafioso.

Fun fact that area at 1:46 (coconut grove) is where all of the Umiami freshman go out - quite the bar scene

Hey, Just an idea but I think this type of area like sunset beach or city centre could attract F1 to host a race there. For example there was a long beach GP. You could built somthing like a paddock with some cars and maybe even mafia secretly sponsoring it and looking after the GP. If you want to go further maybe set up some barriers and call it a GP. Or just place something that people would know that there is a GP being hosted there.

A name for the Cuban mafia could be the Havana Syndicate (based loosely on the real-life Cuban mafia known as The Corporation, who ran a variety of organized crime such as gambling, prostitution, drugs, etc, and had involvement with the Bay of Pigs). Alternately, they could be called the Sunsitos (from Sunset + the Spanish suffix 'ito'), based on the real-life Marielitos, who came to Miami from the Port of Mariel in Cuba in 1980 via the Mariel boatlift.
