When I moved to Toronto in 2014, the city held some promise and was more affordable, with a decent 1 bedroom condo downtown available for rent for around $1,400-$1,500 and one can actually contemplate buying a condo downtown or a townhouse further out. These days, it's an over-priced hell hole, where only property owners that got into the market 10-20 years ago are enjoying it, everyone else treated like sh*t, especially if you still rent. Too many greedy landlords, too many people coming here and not enough being built to accommodate them. Oh wow from the UK! No way. And yes it def has a lot of good things shown on media, but these are some realities as well that you must consider. All the best man
The problem with the far too high rents and real estate purchase prices exists everywhere in the world in the big cities. Even the major German cities have become unaffordable for normal earners. I don't understand why our governments just stand by and do nothing about it. In Vienna, for example, 60% of all real estate is owned by the city, so you can't speculate with these apartments. Why is speculation with housing not simply banned? Housing is a basic right for every human being and existentially necessary and must therefore remain affordable for everyone. In the same way, speculation with all basic foodstuffs on the stock exchange should be banned. People are starving in the world because, for example, the price of grain is artificially driven up by speculators. Something like this must finally be stopped. I only vote for democratic parties that stand up for both. Only in such a way, perhaps sometime something can change.
Only good thing about Toronto is work your ass off and buy your first property asap. My dad came to Toronto 15 years ago, working for minimum wage, and owns 2 properties worth 2.2 million. Now basically making passive income of $80,000 per year. It's hard but I'm gonna invest in Toronto.

Toronto? Hmm. Average house price of 1.1Mil, $2300 a month rent for a shoebox of a condo downtown (if you're lucky, more like $2500) unattractive girls with "im a queen" personality (due to being spoiled with male attention), hardcore traffic anywhere you go, many people act extremely entitled or self centered, you are expected to like rap music, culture & hockey, everything is about money... just off the top of my head, many positive sides of course, but mainly its overhyped, you cannot afford to live in it any longer unless you make 10 grand a month after taxes, and even then, the benefits of living in toronto are questionable at best.

Great vid my dude
Thanks Yahoosh! All the best buddy.
Thank you for this video I'm from the UK, about to finish my degree and was seriously considering moving to Toronto partly based off of all the videos talking about how perfect it is...
It’s not perfect....especially not now!
Oh wow from the UK! No way. And yes it def has a lot of good things shown on media, but these are some realities as well that you must consider. All the best man
Don't move here... I live here it's a dump... I am fine by moving to Vienna Austria..better than this dump..
Nah London better
Do not come here. You’ll be disappointed.
Now, the unaffordability pandemic is reaching Montreal: real e$tate price increa$ed by 21% in 2020!
Alternate title? "6ix Reasons You Should NOT Move to Toronto"
haha fairly clever!
Good luck getting views with that spelling. He needs to tag his video with the correct spelling to get more clicks.
Need to get some sound insulation bro
Tbh, Toronto is overrated.
very! thanks for viewing!
DONT MOVE TO TORONTO! It’s so expensive... sooooo expensive!!!!
It is quite expensive!
That's awesome, good on your dad! Yup it's def a grind city, wish you all the best!
Invest in Toronto???? Why??!!!
You make some valid points!
Thank you!
Wait you don’t like Drake?
I'm indifferent lol.
Someone is good
not bad!
It's a different world outside of toronto
True!
everything you said is so on point
right! haha
It is not what it used to be. You can do so much here, but it is $$$. Not very livable anymore.
Montreal > Toronto
Montreal is nice!
It sucks
I lived there until I was sixteen.
I don't miss a damn thing.
No more smelly ppl, or rude ppl.
And I own a house now with mad property... Cant get that in the city!!!!
Lmao there will be another house with a window staring into your house 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 and btw
Stop using our beaches up north btw.
Damn! Glad u enjoy where u are now!
It's a big city..and expensive.
I know :(
In my city we pay rent 3000 lol
That’s crazy! I’m guessing New York or Los Angeles ?
@@FrankHuynh I’m from Los Angeles, but we’re moving to Canada prob Toronto or Vancouver idk yet lol Half of my family is gonna go one
@@AmeliaAhnn That's awesome, big congrats! Be cautious of Vancouver gloomy rain days, since you're coming from an all sunny state. Toronto is kinda like New York but a lot smaller/cleaner in comparison.
YEEEEOOOOOOO WHY ARE YOU DISSING TORONTO FRANK?? YEEEEOOOOOOO
No issues with the city, just not the right fit for me :)
@@FrankHuynh YEEEEOOOOOOO FRANK T-DOT ALL THE WAY YEEEEOOOOOO
The fact that your city is crap?? Well yeah, Toronto deserve to be mocked.
@@ericktwelve11 But you will prolly still visit Toronto with your friends anyways over and over again lol
@@ThePopProdigy well I was born and raised in Toronto, moving out of here in these years and I'm so happy that moving to Quebec, so Toronto is not my city anymore so therefore Toronto is crap and overexaggerated city that copied NYC snobby attitude and Miami luxury lifestyle.
ahhhhh get a mic!! the room sound is grating!!
Downtown Toronna stinks, the overwhelmed old sewers are spewing all over.
Toronto?
