I like the theme that plays after you defeat a boss, but before you get the star. It's so calming and peaceful, like you know that there's no longer danger.

In fact, pretty much all the Whomp King's dialogue in Super Mario Galaxy 2 was taken from Super Mario 64. There are a few exceptions, like how he implies he's reading a script if you come back to fight him after losing a life.

As a kid, I grew up playing this on my wii, everytime I’d go to my grandmas house ,now I look back at this and it’s like I’m going down memory lane, it’s bringing back so many memories at once, all the bosses I’ve forgotten, but thanks to you, I remember the memories and the hard times I had beating them as a 7 year old

Omg exactly the same for me. Played it every time I went to my grandmas after school. A lot of the bosses I forgot until now after watching this. So many great memories 😊
This is your mario nostalgia? No wonder so many people seem to think this is a good game, they don't realize how overused the ideas and concepts are. They've been using this same villain since the 80's, well before your birth, so I saw this game as what it was since I've been playing the games since then - more nintendo laziness and refusal to add new interesting story concepts, reusing the same main villain turtle that you beat 50+ times that goes "Gwahaha!" and kidnaps princesses is not interesting or acceptable to keep doing for over 30 years of gaming. Who knew!

Boss 1: An actual, newly-hatched, crying baby with a shell-diaper
Boss 2: Chubby-faced nerd who throws temper tantrums and rides a smiling purple cloud
Boss 3: Big-eyed, cartoon-octopus-style robot
Boss 4: Bowser's tiny, spoiled child and his googly-eyed pet, who's honestly just hungry
Boss 5: A petulant bug and its younger sibling, both of whom have targets on their backs
Boss 6: Large, googly-eyed bug you can fight by making clouds
Boss 7: Super cute fuzzy armadillo dinosaur who rolls around for fun and looks like he just wants to be pet
Boss 8: Big version of the guy you've beaten over and over for literal decades now
Boss 9: Snowball with a clown nose
Boss 10: Small child with access to large toys who cries when he loses
Boss 11: Some pink cat bug who you're attacking from underneath like a sneaky weasel
Boss 12: Honestly, you play golf and tennis with this guy. Are you really threatened?
Boss 13: Bewildered sand lizard with a beak
Boss 14: Baby-faced octopus in a wheelchair that shoots watermelons at you to make sure you get enough fiber. You also get to skate the entire time, which is extremely fun in this game
Boss 15: Devoted son who's just trying to make his dad proud and SOME JERK keeps RUINING IT
Boss 16: Understandably frustrated pun-making sidewalk whose only attack is falling over
Boss 17: Another googly-eyed dragon, only this poor thing is ON FIRE. Where's FLUDD when you need him?!
Boss 18: The guy you beat at cart-racing again. He's barely different and probably just wanted cake.
And the rest? All familiar faces, and most of them are fuzzy or friend-shaped. Even Bouldergeist is derpy once he's in his vulnerable tongue state, and the mole was just minding his own business since he's not chasing a Star Bunny this time around.

To reiterate, Mario is one of those franchises where the heroes are bland and unlikable and the villains are creative and unique. Unfortunately, that's most franchises nowadays. I feel like if people could just look Beyond humans for protagonist characters, we could actually get some likeable protagonist characters. Instead, it feels like the human race has become obsessed with itself.

The graphics also still hold up too! I still remember when the first Mario Galaxy came out back in 2007, me and my brother were preteens and I remember my brother saying how so gorgeous the visuals were. "Xbox ain't got nothing on the charm and beauty this game got!" I remember him saying. Looking back on this game we still agree that this game, both in the soundtrack department and animations, were like Pixar-level.

Well, he simply commenced a self destruct sequence, since one more ground-pound would equal death for him. For the rest of them machines, the loss of power means the machine has been defeated, which means it should self destruct in order to prevent the enemy from gaining the machine’s technology.
Ah yes, because risking your own son’s life with a self destruct sequence without his junior clown car as an escape pod is the only way Mario doesn’t take the whole frickin’ multi-ton tower tank home... Thank you Bowser, very cool...
