You: being all amazed by the fact you read more translated work lately Me, a french person who's been reading practically only translated work since forever: cute, but can't relate
You are my favorite person to watch about books! I got to a point where I had no idea what to read and since I have started watching your channel, I have read soooo many great books and have a huge tbr list!
I started watching Sharp Objects, was loving it, then bought the book, then stopped watching because I wanted to read it first, then life happened. In conclusion, I have neither finished the show or the book.
I also read "Little Fires Everywhere" this month after watching the video you vlog it in and I LOVED it. I loved the themes and morals it tackled. I never read anything that tackled adoption in the way it did. Very intriguing read.
we love a chaotic intro!! Little Fires Everywhere sounds extremely interesting - I'm *always* on the lookout for more (actually) good Literary Fiction so I'll definitely be checking out both of Celeste Ng's books!
you made feel both scared and excited to read I'm Thinking of Ending Things, which I guess only speaks to good it probably is and how I should definitely read it..!
when ure no longer anxious about how big ur tbr is since there's loads of time to read now but ure anxious abt everything else going on in the world (,:
Whenever I'm expecting terrible reading slump the only thing I have to do to get myself back on the track is to watch one of your videos. You talk so passionately about them that makes me want to dive right back into my books...so thanks😊
Am I in a zoom lecture right now? Yes. Is watching this while I put myself on mute more important than listening to my class derailing to talk about the pandemic? Also YES.
I read I'm Thinking Of Ending Things in December and it really broke my mind. I totally see why some people hated it, but I LOVED it. I wasn't sure what to think at the beginning, but the vague synopsis was very accurate in my case. I was on edge and anxious, and I had no clue why. Hearing you talk about it has reminded me about that experience. I really hope I can find another book with similar vibes because I need it.
I'm SO happy you liked I'm thinking of ending things! It's my fav thriller and everyone I've ever talked to hates it. I'll definitely have to check out the audiobook.
I'm 2 books away from finishing my Goodreads challenge (50 books) and it's still the first half of April. I've failed to reach that goal the entire year last year lol. Quarantine things.
I feel like I never hear about I’m Thinking Of Ending Things and it’s so incredible. Like it made me so uncomfortable but in the best way. It’s only 200 pages and I literally had to put it down a couple times bc my anxiety was HIGH
26?! I'm sorry... 26?! Seriously impressive although I relate on actually wanting to read less. I have been intrigued about I Wish You All The Best so it was great to hear a bit more about it
just finished reading radio silence bc of u and can I just say thank you for your service to humanity for speaking about that book it was everything I never knew I needed
ok I JUST found I’m Thinking of Ending Things and I was EQUALLY as shook and haven’t stopped thinking of it either and I’m so glad I’ve found your channel because I love all your recommendations (especially the thriller/horror)!!
As someone who adores Paper Girls, it actually doesn't change as you keep reading! It's a very fast-paced story & more of an adventure plot without very much quiet time to learn about any of the characters. It's gorgeous and interesting, but not super deep.
I just wanna say thank u for your videos. I am working as a suicide hotline counselor/211 operator and work has been incredibly busy and stressful since the whole pandemic thing. Your videos provide a good escape and some solid book recs, which I appreciate. Also I rlly need to read I'm Thinking Of Ending Things ASAP
if you’re looking for more translated work to read, i would like to recommend memory of water by emmi itäranta. the book was originally written in finnish, and i read it over a year ago and i still have no idea what i thought of it so i’d be interested to maybe hear your thoughts on it!!
I finished radio silence AND I LOVE IT A FAV can't thank you enough! and now i'm reading the raven boys also LOVING IT. i will read every book you consider a favorite from now on!
