I thought I was the only one that disliked Powerless. I almost DNF'd it, but pushed through and wish I hadn't. I didn't connect/like any of the characters and didn't care what happened to any of them. And, yeah, the Hunger Games stuff...nope.

Thank you for saying that about Powerless. The “similarities” were constant! Believe it or not, there was a scene at the end of the book that was taken from another BIG series that no one else is talking about! It blows my mind 😂
it also blew my mind upon DNF'ing, that i haven't seen anyone mention these huge hurdles with powerless! love that people are loving it, but i don't see the novelty at all🤓

AGREED on Powerless! It felt promising at first and then just got so repetitive, like every interaction with Paedyn and Kai had me rolling my eyes so hard. The trials made NO sense to me. It was also so long for no reason. I did end up finishing it and gave it 2 stars, the ending intrigued me enough to want to give the second one a shot but if that one sucks too then I’m done lol. I’m glad you felt the same cause so many people love this 😂 I also loveddddd Bride and really enjoyed Seven Year Slip 🍋

I really can’t understand why Powerless has such a high rating on Goodreads? I’m almost at 50% and am only reading it because a friend recommended it/wants me to…but everything you said is spot on. I’ve only watched the hunger games movies but was noticing that certain scenes seem to be borderline plagiarised and I don’t feel any sparks from the romance (mostly just cringing every time he says “darling” 👀)

For it to be an omegaverse there has to be an omega, and heats. Lowe is just a werewolf with a knot which is common, and fated mates are also common things in werewolves books. There is never an issue with whether or not an omega can take a knot, they literally need it. I can definitely give some omegaverse recs.

TBH, I recently started Love Hypothesis by Ali, and when I got to the part where Olive pees in the shower to save time, it was an immediate ick and huge no from me, so instant DNF😅 This kinda deters me from reading her other books, no matter how big the hype is. I’m glad I heard you and Liv’s review or Powerless before reading it, I definitely don’t want to read it as much any more 😬 I don’t like when books feel like the author copied another book. My favorite books I read in March are Bookshops & Bonedust, The Way of The HouseHusband, and Soara & The House of Monsters. I also enjoyed A Fragile Enchantment but I was so frustrated by the 3rd act conflict omg. Other than that I really liked it and it made me laugh😊 I also have a man and his cat on my tbr but I realized I’ve read at least 4 different mangas that follow someone having a cat for the first time 😅
listen, maybe you can still end up enjoying it! that's the beauty in subjectivity with books💖 and omg, YES! the third act conflict in a fragile enchantment was soooo unnecessary😭 it was also resolved so quickly that it felt pointless!
Powerless reminded me a little too much of Hunger Games, also felt longer than it needed to be imo. That being said I was still able to enjoy most of it, loved that we got multi POV, hopefully book two is better because I'll definitely be picking it up. I read Bride by Ali Hazelwood, tbh I was a little disappointed, it had so much potential so if there is to be a sequel I hope it's better and I pray to god Ali gives us a proper second POV. 🙏
