Great video! Thanks for the step by step instructions. I love to see and observe grading of driveways, and hearing the gravel being scraped, etc.

From my experience starting with both the front blade and rear blade being level, not necessarily the top of the sides of the box, is a good starting point. From there small adjustments to the top link are all that are ever needed in most situations. That 1” top link adjustment was massive. I generally make 1/4” adjustments and see a big difference in the way it performs. Try smaller adjustments from blade level and see how that works for you.
These box blades are a very useful and functional implement.

Thanks for that advice. I don’t use the box blade frequently enough to really test its many possible settings on different substrates but the top link adjustments are key. Of course levelling the tool back to front and side to side is needed as a starting point unless you want to dig more aggressively. But certainly many options for various settings. Hydraulic controls would make adjustment much simpler but I don’t have that option currently. Maybe someday😁

Excellent video, and tutorial! Really enjoyed this. Great job explaining the workings of the box scraper. Nice, clean edges as well, look very nice. Perfect time to do it, before the ground freezes for Winter. Will ease snow clearing, and ensure a smooth road into Spring.
The adjustable teeth remind me of those rear leaf spring adjustable 'shackle' kits with pre-drilled holes, that muscle car owners used to raise the rear height of their cars to accommodate oversized tires. Canadian Tire used to sell a lot of those back in the 60s/70s. lol
You don't see it that much any more, because counties and townships generally stay on top of road maintenance, but I used to notice the worst 'washboard' potholes appeared at stop signs. It seemed cars braking and accelerating, will contribute to those repeated potholes.
    Very nicely done!

      Thanks Shaun,
I wasn’t even planning on the video until the last minute. Would have been better if I could have had someone follow me with a camera but nobody else was around. But hopefully I got the gist of it across. I’m not very good at it.
It’s also good for flattening piles of earth or moving soil from one area to another over short distances.

@@hervedelnorte7928 Very nicely done, especially given you didn't plan the video! I'm impressed by the ruggedness of the design. A well-built product, that should serve you for many years. Really enjoyed this!

Thank you so much for explaining a manual set up box spreader. Walking through adjustments. It reminds me of a combo scraper/Grader/Dozer with blade on back. Like a big earth moving machine

Just a great video. Thanks for taking the time to explain what others might consider common knowledge. Great watch for someone new to tractors and/or box scrapes.

I seem to have better success pulling the box scraper at a slightly higher speed. Also, any time the front wheels traverse a dip in the surface you will leave a high spot behind you where the box scraper lifted. Those high spots are easily remedied by operating the box scraper in reverse and utilizing the rear cutting surface to smooth out the raised areas. You're right, though, using the box scraper is as much an art as it is a science.

Sure thing. I’ll have it on the first boat to Rayong in the morning. May take a few extra days to get there. I’ll send the tractor too!
