    Wow! I can’t believe it worked! I installed it on a 2015 Honda Odyssey and it runs as good as the day I drove it off the lot. I recently drove 800 miles to Florida over the holidays and so I was expecting a drop in gas mileage, but to my surprise my gas mileage was the same as when the eco mode use to kick in. I highly recommend this product.

    What does this do for the car? What does VCM and ECO mean and do? If it smooths out engine I want one. I don't like when the ECO comes on at low speeds. How can I get one of these kits?

      John, the VCM (ECO) mode on these vehicles tend to cause lots of vibration over time, especially between 35-40mph. Besides this, there are several documented problems with the 2008-2013 vehicles for premature wear on the cylinder rings due to the VCM/ECO operation. Additionally, engine mounts will begin to wear out as early as 50k miles, requiring a $500-$1000 repair bill.

    I purchased a used 07 oddyssey with bad oil burn - about 1 quart every 1500 miles. Will this fix the issue?

      Sam, please send me an e-mail to info@vcmtuner.com and we can discuss. I started having oil burning problems at 115k miles, about 1.5 qts every 5k. With VCM disabled I am now at .5qts per 5k miles and I have 141k on the car.

    So if I install one a these will it make my check engine light go off?
    I'm showing misfire in 1, 4, and 6.
    Most people are saying the vcm is causing this problem in all kinds of years, mine being an 06 odyssey.

      Billy Boy, the engine does not run hotter just from disabling VCM. The engine thermostat controls the engine temperature, which is unchanged by this modification. The engine temperature is under-reported by 8-13F in most cases to the ECU depending on the added resistance level selected to keep the VCM engagement disabled. VCM engages at 167F. Most thermostats in the Odysseys are 173/177F. On some Honda pilots they use 180F . The ECU still has the ECT2 sensor to reference, which allows the fans to engage and disengage normally as the ECU has both temp sensors for reference. Some owners have been disabling VCM since 2015 without any side effects. The modification has proven not to affect the emission control system or modified the emission levels validated through the CARB E.O. process we completed this year.

    Does the VCMTuner mess with the A/C by any chance? Just checking cause my passenger side is blowing warm air and my driver side is blowing cold. I just installed it

      Chris, No, it does not change any behavior with your AC system. You might have one of your vents switched open or have an issue with a vent closing.

      Brock Eastman yeah I kind of figured but wasn't sure haha. So far the VCMTuner is treating me well. The ECO comes on sometimes but not a lot. Stays off for the most part

      I had another purchaser w/ a 2012 accord tell me the 50 setting worked perfect for him and this kept ECO off in traffic 95% of the time. All of the vehicles have some variance in the cooling systems. I ship it stock at 82/83 ohms, which works well for most Odysseys, Pilots. It's possible that the Accords might have a slightly different thermostat or radiator size, which causes the temperatures to spike faster when sitting in traffic versus the larger vehicles. Personally, I use setting 50 on my van now for this time of year and can't complain. That's about 100 ohms. The 82/83 ohm setting should disable VCM 100% of the time on the freeway until the outside temperatures reach 100 or higher. Then you'll want to move it up to 50 then anyways. For 110+ ambient summer temperatures, use the 60 setting.

      What would be the most efficient setting for the 2008-2012 accords to keep te eco light off ?

    I have a problem with 06 Honda Odyssey. It sounds and vibrate on eco mode I take it to fix it they told me to change timing belt, water pump, half shaft and tie rods and I change it. But still have same problems, ANY SOLUTION !!

      Sounds like your motor mount is bad. Do you have an EX-L or touring model? If you do then you have active motor mounts that break and vibrate when ECO light kicks in. If you suppress your VCM using VCM tuner and change your engine mounts, then your vibrations will most likely go away. Sounds like you have changed everything else that needed to be changed.

    Just curious in terms of weather, I live in a state where it's pretty bipolar when it comes to the weather. It could be 70 degrees Fahrenheit one day and the next it could be 30 degrees. Would you just recommend I leave it on 50? and then dial to 60 during the Summer?

      The 40-50 setting will work quite well in most scenarios. The 50 setting gives you a bit of buffer when sitting in traffic and the coolant temps spike until the car starts moving again. The 60 setting really should only be used in hot summers like Northern CA and Phoenix.. where it can reach 115F ambients. If you put too much resistance at the circuit you can get an 'engine not up to temperature' Check engine code on a cold day. For every 10 ohms, you are reducing the temperature as seen by the ECU by some 2-3 degrees Farenheight on normal freeway driving. The normal operating temperature of my honda odyssey on the freeway is 176F as seen by my veepeak scanner w/o the vcmtuner installed. The coolant temps on the freeway at setting 40 show about 162-163F on a cold day, basically the offset is somewhere between 13-16F. The key being to keep the operating temperature as seen by the ECU under 167F, as was discovered by users on the ridgeline forum back in 2014. Going from setting 40 to setting 50 changes the temperature seen by the ecu some 6-7F, which in many cases will give you enough buffer to sit in traffic without the eco temporarily coming back on. I had one user of the product e-mail me last week that he was sitting in traffic w/ the ac off for 1-2 minutes and his temp spiked to 172F w/ the VCM tuner on the car as seen by his odb2 scanner. He was using setting 40. If using setting 50, this would keep the 172F below the 167F figure. VCM can really only be disabled w/ this product some 95+ percent of the time. If the climate controls on your vehicle is on auto, vcm will stay disabled more often in traffic as the additional fans will kick in, reducing coolant temp spikes. If the AC is off, your coolant temps will range from 176F (Freeway) up to 206F(sitting for 3-4 minutes). The vcmtuner at setting 40 is only going to compensate 13-16F total. Fortunately disabling VCM some 95-98% of the time will reduce the oil consumption drastically, and also minimize wear on the motor mounts, spark plugs and cylinder rings, as well as the transmission torque converter. The key here is that you have complete flexibility in terms of how you want VCM disabled w/ vcmtuner. Some opt for it disabled only on freeway driving to minimize the 35-55mph engine vibration.

      I really appreciate the time for that explanation. Thank you very much! Okay it doesn't get that hot over here in Colorado during the Summers I believe. I'll keep it around 40-50 for my normal day drivings. I'm mainly trying to get rid of VCM when driving on the highways/freeways.

      Chad, that sounds like a completely separate problem not related to the operation of the cylinder management system. If your A/C system is not functional while you are parked then I would suspect you have low freon. In a low freon (R134) your a/c compressor might not build up enough pressure at idle (7001000RPM) to engage the A/c pressure switch when parked. At 2000-3000 RPM, the compressor might build enough pressure to engage the A/C fan clutch, usually over 25 psi on the low pressure side. You can also check the A/C relay under the hood which is known to go bad every 50k-80k miles. It is a $15 part at your local napa store to fix if it's the relay.

      My clutch ingage but won't suck in the coolent.
      Sounds like a clog.
