    been playing for a few months now, and it still feels like this game is brand new with how much stuff there is to try and do! Cant believe that months later a beginner guide was genuinely still helpful

    Just started playing. I downloaded 3.24 by mistake, not realizing it. Went back to download 4.0. and got an error, so I just started in 3.24 to get used to the game. Will move to 4.0 later after getting used to it since you basically start over. The only issue I have is obviously the bugs. They are so random. One moment, elevators don't work on a given station, can't remove a medium helmet to eat/drink, glitchy F menus on items etc. Had to abandon the probe mission because the F menu wouldn't activate on the probe once it was in place. I also lost some armor and weapons I bought trying to figure out how to swap them out with the armor I was wearing in my hab. Otherwise, awesome universe and gameplay.

      Yeah the bugs in 3.24.3 are substantially worse in some regards than 4.0. Hopefully we'll have quite a few patches and hot fixes when CIG get back from their holiday break.

    I might of missed it in the video, but did you cover how to create beacons? I played a small amount of 3.23 and remember it being in the contracts tab. However in 4.0 I can't for the life of me find where in the mobiglass to create a beacon.

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  4 дні тому +1

      Sadly no. Beacons are in a really poor spot. They can sometimes be useful, but there's no reputation tied with them. Which leaves most people getting trolled or killed by other players.

    • @evemaniac
      @evemaniac День тому

      Mission beacons are a problem but if you need to mark a location you can use a trick which works until crash to desktop or logout. Accept a box delivery mission and get the box place the box where you want a "location beacon" if you untrack the mission beacon is not active but if you reactivate it by tracking it again you will have the "collect the package" beacon again. I know its not meant to use it that way but the game is often a forces us to find a workaround, and I use this mostly to track my bigger ship when going for scouting in a smaller vessel in the gigantic asteroid belt in stanton.

    I died on baijini point (from dehydration) revived in the med bay on the station didn't have to set my respawn point. if i logged out in mid space close to the station I was respawned in the space station.

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  8 днів тому

      Yeah, this sometimes happens. But if you die when doing a mission at one of the nearby moons, it generally will spawn you back at the landing zone.

    I have personal experience with Elite but none with Star Citizen....
    I feel like the flight model on elite dangerous is a lot more technical and satisfying judging by videos I have seen of it in Star Citizen. How would you compare the two?

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  8 днів тому +1

      I'd honestly say that the flight model on ED is a lot easier to understand and be good with. Whereas Star Citizen has a lot more of a learning curve to it.

    • @spartakos3178
      @spartakos3178 8 днів тому

      @Hav0k Cool beans, I just haven't personally seen anything in a Star Citizen video that looks as difficult and necessary to practice for muscle memory retention as learning Flight assist off in Elite Dangerous.

    • @Hav0k

      @spartakos3178 Decoupled flight in SC works very similarly as well

      @@spartakos3178most people aren't particularly good at PvP or dogfighting. As an elite dangerous player myself I will honestly admit star citizen dogfighting skill curve is a bit bigger and with certain ships it takes a lot of time to master and get good with

    Damn, those requirements are rough. Is there any hope for us poors who can't really afford a $400 video card?

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  8 днів тому +1

      I wouldn't say those are the requirements. You can build a $700-800 computer that will run it just fine. That was more or less my suggestion that's borderline mid range

    • @TheBetterManInBlack
      @TheBetterManInBlack 8 днів тому +1

      @@Hav0k Yeah, I built a hot stuff computer specifically for SC, but that was back in 2019 or so. I just upgraded to a Ryzen 5700x3d and water cooling (AM4 board), but I'm still running an 8gb 580 video card, and 3.24 was sucking up 95-100% of it last week. Any suggestions for around $250 or so?

    • @helloisthisdog
      @helloisthisdog 8 днів тому +4

      The new Intel cards are apparently exceptional bang for buck ($250, comparable performance to $400-500 AMD/nVidia cards), but I would try to see if there is specific information of how they handle Star Citizen.

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  8 днів тому +2

      @helloisthisdog i have to agree. Apparently intel did a really good Job with is most recent release of GPUs. The RX 7600xt is also another really solid option for just a bit more $$ while keeping it pretty close in price.

    • @TheBetterManInBlack
      @TheBetterManInBlack 7 днів тому

      @@Hav0k Got a model number? My search shows intel arc cards at roughly the same price point as the 7600 AMDs and going up from there. Right in the middle between the 7600s and up to the same as the 7700s, in fact. The 8GBs are going for around $280 (at least the one I found) but is 8gb really enough?
      This is gonna be one of those situations where it's a nickel and dime crumb trail where I end up with the $400 card, I can feel it. 🤕

    Great video... Just one issue... Crusaders ugly child should not be pushed. The Intrepid is the Ugliest ship.... Worst choice for any beginner.... There is a KOS order out for that ship. Kill on sight..... CIG should have never made that ugly ship. Any other starter is a better pick. Crusaders ugly child is just going to make u a target.... Don't buy the Intrepid

      Intrepid is an okay ship. DPS is a little low, and loading cargo is a pain, but it's wicked quick, and great for RP.

      Making a ship KOS because you find it ugly is probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. It's a perfectly decent ship. And given this is SC, anyone can buy whatever ship they want for any reason.
