Its the difference between being the number 1 in the world and the number 337 in the world, I don't think it has anything to do with being a man or a woman
I think your mother gave birth to a mistake
This is not only about fans taking picture with magnus. But taking other people's seat and disrespecting the owner of the freaking seat!
Magnus should've stand and take pictures in other spaces.
Well thats exactly what the title says

All the comments are missing the point. No one doubts that Magnus is the greatest. The problem is that those people are sitting in HER SEAT. It's okay if no one wants to take a picture with her, but she would like to sit down! Those people are rude.

Nothing disrespectful here. Only that I felt anxious watching her be socially anxious.
People are really missing the point, the fans are rude, she shouldn't have to give up her seat so that Magnus can take photos with his fans, in fact, he should have stood up to greet his fans. Common social awareness seem to be absent among top chess players
What? You blaming magnus? So celeb supposed to get up to greet his fans? You think this a work place where you gotta greet your boss? Lol

They aren't saying that Magnus needs to get up to greet his fans and take pictures but rather that Ju Wenjun is also a top level chess player and her being asked to vacate her seat so that fans could take pictures is rude to her.
The best resolution of this scenario would have either been Magnus getting up to take pictures with his fans or declining it all together.
Also you saying that she looks fine with it and if she didn't stand up for herself then Magnus also doesn't need to do anything is also not right. She sort of got dragged in this scenario as well. If she would have declined it then people on the internet would have been so quick to judge her like, "She's just jealous", " They just wanted a picture but her ego got in the way" on and on. Magnus could have acknowledged that and declined taking pictures all together. It's like being put in an uncomfortable spot where you have no other choice but to comply.
Although rest assured, the blame completely lies with the fans as they can't just ask someone to vacate their seats. Magnus could have helped the situation but I don't blame him for not doing so. I am certain it was uncomfortable for him as well.

@@AreNam100 I was speaking facts bro.. if women need equal pay and respect they should participate in open section where both men and women can participate .
But most of women only participate in women's only section ( which is just fight of some 1800average rated players)
true, shes obviously not nearly as great as magnum carlson. but how does that justify why he can be so disrespectful to her? and that has nothing to do with sex and “equal pay equal respects”? what happened to basic manners? 😅
even so, it’s not equal respect in that she was so respectful to him- and stood there patiently, even when he disrespected her
@@ImJackBaby So? That's not even the point. It's just rude to just ask someone to stand up so that they can take pictures. It doesn't have to be her, an ordinary person would also feel embarrassed or awkward.
What I don’t get is why he is not defending her…
Chess shouldnt even have a Woman division. Feminists should fight for equal playing field!
100%
It's a intellectual game..
So it 100% should!
Magnus Carlsen is not just the best men's chess player, he is the best chess player. If she had to go head to head with the men, she wouldn't even be in the top 5.
@@luan42861
Then she should train more.
Gender/sex is irrelevant, or at least should be, but the majority of humans seem to pay too much attention to the petty details.
@@luan42861sadly not even the top 50
They have an equal playing field there is no women's and men's division, it's women's and OPEN division where anyone can play. It's just no woman is good enough to even qualify for the candidates
Magnus fans respecting other GM
Difficulty : Impossible !
You can't blame magnus here, he is just sitting there and minding his own business, the fans lack the decency.
What the fans did was disgusting but remember its not men vs women champion magnus isnt mens champion he is the world champion
I’m sure there are big discrepancies, but this post is misleading. Magnus is the greatest chess player of all time still alive and young. Any fan of chess would love to get a pic with him.
It is not the Women and Men champions. It is the Women champion and the Open chess tournament champion. There is a great difference between the two.
Yeah, and another difference is one is a man and the other is a woman.
@@myhatmygandhi6217 and?
I dont think chess masters like Hikaru or even a chess youtuber like the botez sisters would be treated the same way.
This is not what this clip is about🤦
@@myhatmygandhi6217 Man>>>Woman
That's not difference. It's just disrespectful
Looks like a scene from desi wedding photoshoot
Ju is looking beautiful and inocent❤❤❤
Can someone explain to me why women are not as good as men in a game where you just have to think think I can understand games of physical prowess. But does chess tell us that men's brains are just better??
Ots not a matter of women being worse, its a matter of far less women playing chess, so statistically less people means less probability of superstrong players
I dont if viswanath anand can become the first gm of india and win a world title, why cant women do the same, especially in a world where modern technology highly evolved.
The Polgar family has shown that for women to play chess at a high level, they would need to start learning at a young age.
Hou Yifan had such a promising career and almost reached SuperGM level but couldn't quite reach it.
@@barte4215If that's the case, then why while 15% of chess players are women, But only 1 women player in the top 300?
@SomebodySharp you literally just showed why: less women chess players and women only tournaments
Magnus is a sucka for not saying anything when he was sitting next to her in the first place
I would say fans here are rude and magnus a bit arrogant 😂😂😂
Magnus is arrogant as always, even if he didn't know about her, still he should have stood Up
@@KamleshPatel-md5kv She is the rude one cause she gave her seat unnecesarily and cause bad name for Carlson
@@Nao20244 so you mean she should be arrogant and shouldn't get up. It's a basic courtesy. She didn't do anything wrong here. They were fans of magnus, either they should be respectful but more importantly magnus should have basic sense to get up rather seeing someone else losing their seat
@@KamleshPatel-md5kv Fans are escorted by securities if the celebrities doesn't like . He has personal space . If he choose to not get up, it is up to him . There are lots of seats vaccant , she should just seat in any of them . Does she have nameplate in her seat?
@@Nao20244 so if your sitting somewhere and someone request you to get up for few moments.. would be asshole and say that no I won't or else you'll have basic courtesy to stand up ??
If you're choosing 1st one then don't reply I got what kind of person you're..
If you're choosing 2nd option of getting up then you basically did good job and that things now magnus should have done...
Now I really don't want to teach basic courtesy to grown up like you.. you really are defending magnus and degrading her 💀💀
Magnus just could have gone with them and taken photo seperately 😂😂 still he was arrogant as always..
Magus just stand up instead of making others comfortable. IS that hard?
She's from China maybe that's why discontentment.
Like what is this an disrespect or an respect no matter from which country you are it stands for WORLD Champion not china you know what it mEaNs (WORLD)
Dick move for magnus carlsen and the fans
Magnus should have stand up. Yet, it just seems like people are over reacting. There are so many seats and Ju can easily sit down. I am sure the two chess players know each other.
The chairs have names so they are probably for other people
Magnus didn't even get involved, he just got dragged in by his fans, and why does magnus have to stand up to greet his fans? Humans like magnus have a free will to do anything and deciding wether to do that or this and she was completely fine about magnus fans sitting on her seat, so why would even magnus care to defend her if she even allowed it? It would just make a scene and embarrased him, blame the fans, and the organizers drag magnus out of this. And magnus can't be forced to get up out of his seats to just greet bunch of his random fans AND people like you still had the audacity to say "Atleast stand up to take a picture" Nega what? If he doesn't want to then it's his choice you can't force him, it's HIS seats so he has the right to not and get up on his seats whenever he wants. Y'all kids lack common sense these days.
at event like this, the seat was assigned
Its the difference between being the number 1 in the world and the number 337 in the world, I don't think it has anything to do with being a man or a woman

Sitting her there immediately puts her on the spot, or doesnt, Magnus is goated and has been living above 2800 for the past 15 years, She's ranked 400.
I feel bad for Ju 😏
this really isn't about gender, it's about fans not having basic respect and simultaneously receiving no disapproval for it
It's not the difference between men and women world champion. It's the difference between Magnus and the rest of the players
There isn't a men chess championship one is the mixed and one is women
I dont care about the defense people try to mount towards this shit. She is the world champion and nobody should even try to take her seat just to get a selfie with Magnus. PERIOD
Bad manners and stupidity! (I guess all are chess players, right?!) Enough said!
are you stupid? she obliged. if she wasn't happy with it she could've politely declined. no way a grown woman could be a victim in this situation.
She is an independent woman, she can refuse if she is unwilling. Don't treat her like an infant
@@melzz Please-. Your observation, while appreciated, appears to overlook a critical nuance in social etiquette and cultural norms. Let us delve into the distinction between the compulsion of politeness and the assertion of one's right to refuse.
The crux of my argument rests on the inappropriateness of the request made to the female world chess champion to vacate her seat. It transcends mere impoliteness; it verges on a disregard for her stature and contribution. Furthermore, in the cultural context and the unspoken social mores that govern such interactions, her refusal to acquiesce to the request, albeit within her rights, may inadvertently be perceived as discourteous. This perception is deeply entrenched in the subtleties of social conduct, particularly in high-stakes, public scenarios.
The fact that she possesses the agency to decline the request is indisputable and is not a point of contention. However, this reality does not mitigate the rudeness of repeatedly asking her to relinquish her seat. My commentary does not infantilize her; on the contrary, it recognizes the predicament faced by any individual striving to balance politeness with personal dignity in such circumstances. Typically, the normative response would be to comply, but this should not be construed as a validation of the propriety of the request.
The essence of understanding this dynamic lies in recognizing the significant difference between being able to say 'no' and being placed in a position where saying 'yes' is the only option that preserves the facade of civility. This distinction is substantial and merits thoughtful consideration.
Depends on culture, there are people who find it hard to say no. You'd only get an answer if you had a candid interview with her.
@@prometheus8073 True 👍
It's not a fair comparison cause Magnus isn't just a champion, he's a legend.
If he is that willing to take pictures with his fans he could have just stood up in order not to disturb the people next to him.
The fact that he ignored her and was so dense enough not to be aware that she has to stand up and give her seat for his fans was so disrespectful on his part. I guess we now know where the fans get their confidence to be that disrespectful towards other people.
Two of the greatest players ever? I would have ask a picture with both of them on the frame, damn... And just pushing her away like that, even if she was a nobody (which is not the case), would be just pure disrespect.
