    Nice looking model.
    Bargain!
I agree with others. It is in mint condition so painting it would be a real shame.
Your call, but if it ain't broken, why fix it?
    Happy Modelling

A great addition to the fleet, the BR Green looks so much better than the Blue/Grey, in my view. Lets face it, there always was a transition period from green to blue.................I'd leave it in green but that's only my opinion...............All the very best Dave.

That looks like a nice addition to your fleet Colin, it's good to see you're not having any traffic chaos in Mossend, caused by the local refuse collectors ... Cheers James 😁👍

My understanding that the $ CEP comes in Green, with and without warning panel. They also ran in BR blue/ grey, BR Blue and Jasffer cake

On the video I said B R blue I meant blue and grey with the all yellow ends but I am keeping it green it looks good I have warmed to it but I still want a B R Blue and grey. Thanks for your comment all the best Colin.

Why risk spoiling such a lovely model. No matter how good you are at painting, you never get as good a finish as the manufacturer .

      @Mossendrailway00  2 місяці тому +1

You are right I am keeping it green but I still think B R blue and grey is best so I will save up for one all the best Colin.

Personally I like the BR southern region green and I think it would be a shame if you painted it.

    Well done - a nice purchase! 👍
Phase 1 unit no.7126 entered service end-March 1959 and received its yellow warning panel 19th April 1966. Unit 7126 was outshopped Blue /Grey (full yellow ends) on 21st November 1968 (it missed out on receiving all-blue livery).
It was refurbished 3rd February 1979 and renumbered 411509 (later 1509).
I've provided a full history of the 4 CEP units on BloodandCustard.⚡
_On a personal note as Bachmann produce a Blue /Grey 4 CEP and the two liveries ran together (both could be seen with one of the rarer all-blue 4 CEP units) I'd personally consider retaining its green livery._

Thank you for the information, I am not spraying I am keeping it green but my era was blue/grey that's why I wanted one so much but I don't think its in my price range. It's nice to know I can respray if I want to with the information you have given me. Thanks again, all the best Col. p.s. the third rail is hard work but I think it will be worth it.

@@Mossendrailway00 Colin, if you look amongst the photographs of the MLV history there is a Green MLV + Blue/Grey TLV + Green 4 CEP + Blue 4 CEP + Blue /Grey 4 CEP passing through Faversham on 21st April 1968. All that was missing was the (sole) Maroon TLV...... ⚡
Laying the con-rail is time consuming but the final effect is worthwhile. 🙂
_On Ewhurst Green the insulator pots are an interference fit in the sleepers with con-rail removed, sprayed with primer thence painted with sleeper grime before refitting...._ ATB Colin. 😉

It would have to be blue and grey with full yellow ends. That was their state prior to rebuilding at Swindon when they changed the vehicles external appearance substantially.

A few 4 CEP units did receive all-over blue livery (but not 7126). 😉
