I am trying to decide whether to keep my DirecTV H54 Genie or switch to Comcast. I have Comcast Internet (rock solid 150 MB). So I went to the Comcast store today in Snellville GA and sat in front of their 65 inch Samsung TV and flipped through the channels. I was disappointed in the picture quality of the Comcast DVR in the waiting area. Don't get wrong the picture was good, but not even close to my Genie DVR even on any of the Live broadcasts. I have a 55 inch Samsung Nano Crystal (QLED) tv. The first thing everyone says when they come into my house is how well the picture looks. On the Comcast picture, there was a lot of compressions around the text on the screen and an overall softening of the picture. When I came home, for a direct comparison, I compared the same show on NFL Network, the exact same game they were playing back to back that day at the Comcast store. The picture was sharper on my 2-year-old Genie. I can not switch to Comcast for that reason. DIRECTV PICTURE QUALITY IS JUST STELLAR. PRICE WAS THE OTHER THING (Directv 230 channel for 5 TVs and DVR + 25MB internet $89 + Tax month 22 of contract) (Comcast $191 200 MB internet or $70 for just 150 MB internet what I have now). So right now I pay $170 for two internets (AT&T BACKup 25 MB) and 230 channel on 5 TVs.
DISH is great if you have a clear view of the southern sky. If you live in an apartment or town home that faces north unless the receiving dish can be mounted on the roof you could be out of luck. Some HOA's and apartments don 't allow that to be mounted on the roof, same with Direc TV Check that out before you order any of it.
i used to have xfinity and switched to dish a year ago because xfinity kept raising their prices and im loving dish but my only complaint is whenever there is a storm or snowing my tv goes out randomly anywhere from a few minutes to whenever the storm ends which didnt happen on xfinity but i guess thats the price you pay for cheaper tv
@@kjohn0347 Cable goes down with good weather all the time. The lightning storms are so bad here in Florida I just disconnect the cable and unplug my electronics.
I have had Dish for over 10 years and really liked their service. Since they keep taking away CBS from us every few years, and always at Super Bowl time, I think I will be leaving them after my NHL Center Ice expires at the end of the season. I hate to say it, but I will most likely go to Comcast. I have my phone and internet with them now.
Had Comcast for 27 yrs, just switched to Dish. Comcast with regular basic cable is (no promotion) $119 plus tax, Dish with a similar channel line up is locked in (2 yrs) @ $60-$65 Dish customer service is friendly, Comcast customer service is rude, lying garbage. Comcast 4K box gives a slight edge over Hopper3, (average people would not see it) Neither offers much 4K (Superbowl and Olympics only) Comcast is dying, Dish wants customers. If you live in Chicagoland neither offers Cubs Baseball. Go with Dish Comcast dug their own grave, let them sleep in it.

Things I can't deal with Dish is the way too often contract Disputes with some of these networks. Was with them for over 10 years so I know what I'm talking about. Also no matter how strong your signal is it just goes out way too often during rainstorms in Florida. Last thing is while the prices are fair, the combo of Dish with Comcast internet is an additional $40-$60 a month no matter the deals you can get. So I ended up just going to Comcast for everything. Yes it's true they down rez channels down to 720p but I don't find it too bad. I'm OCD so if I can handle it,you can handle it. Wish I could at least have those Hopper dvrs with comcast.
Dish is worst in all aspects, whether it is about quality, services or prices, I just hate them for their bad services. I used to have dish 2 Years back and was not at all happy with their poor quality and their services so I switched to direct tv which is one of the best in the market, they really have a good services, and I loved the way they treat their customers. I would definately say a big NO for dish .
I am so glad that I switched from Comcast to Dish. Main reasons are the price and more channels.

Rick Veasey Comcast 4K box gives an awesome picture across all channels, even if not HD. The company sucks so much, gave up and went to Dish.

I'm sure this has changed with time. Big seller for me was comcast internet. Just sooo much cheaper to get TV instead of another provider.
OMG! !!! Where Do I Start with dish...I came here to convince myself to switch to Comcast/Xfinity but they don't have Latino package in my area.
Love Dish, quality service, great price and discounts to be had. HBO, Cinemax will be back, not a big deal.

HBO and Cinemax was bought out by ATT that owns DTV sooo there's that. They don't want dish to have them in their lineup.
