Xfinity cable is not that cheap after the first year. They keep increasing the price every year.

It definitely does. If your price isn’t changing, you’re either already paying the premium already or you’re getting hit somewhere else. For example, mine went from 50 to 60 to 80 over about 5 years. When I called, they got me back down to 50, BUT now I have a brutal data cap. I’m not some nerdy gamer/streamer bro. Average family of 4 and I almost hit the cap every month. Oh, by the way, if you go over, you’re charged +$10 for every 50gb you’re over that month. Alternatively, you pay +$25/month for an unlimited data plan. This would be $75/month for me. Which is ironic, because my Verizon cell plan with unlimited data is $25/month total. So, my home internet is now stingier than my cell data! 🤨 and at least the cell phones would give you some data analytic tools to see what’s gobbling up your data. I just get a chart like water or power bill.

I use 2-3 tb a month but I pay extra 50$ a month for unlimited

AT&T Fiber trumps Xfinity with overall speed (download/upload). Plus no monthly rental fees for modem, NO CAP of download and no increase on monthly fees after a year.

You can't compare Fiber to Cable... That's like comparing apples to oranges.. Ford versus Ferrari etc.
Fiber rather it's Google, Verizon FiOS or AT&T fiber all beat cable. There simply is no competition as of yet.
In my area I can only get either DSL through AT&T or Cable through Comcast, there's zero fiber optic internet availability at my location. Hopefully AT&T comes to my location soon.

If you set the availability aside. And compare bandwidth to bandwidth. Any fiber connection will destroy cable internet. Download/Upload speed the same. Overall ping at least 10 less. I switched from Spectrum to AT&T Fiber in August 2023, my service has not been down as of yet.

You’re comparing apples to oranges, Fiber is superior in almost every way…

    1. Why does the geographic availability matter to a consumer? This is a binary. If one is not available, and the other is, then there’s no comparison to be made.
    2. Xfinity service in my area is solid and fast, but in the past couple years, they stuck in BRUTAL data caps. How bad? I get more data on my $25 Verizon cellular plan!
However, for +$25/mo you can lose the data cap. (Ridiculous in my opinion, but…) You’d have to compare equivalent plans with ATT. Speed, reliability, price, data. Compare apples to apples.
    3. ATT reliability is typically poor. Always has been. Fiber doesn’t change that.
    4. Technically, all cable is ONLY coax cable from the house to the “node” in the neighborhood. All nodes are then fiber back to your provider comm network. “Fiber” service is just all fiber.
    If you have both available…
If reliability is important, xfinity tends to do better than ATT.
If speed and unrestricted data are important to you, ATT MAY be better. Again… compare apples to apples. Speed, reliability/up-time, data limits/throttling, and price.

My xfinity is more than att fiber with slower speeds at 800mps but mines never get over 500 mps
