My favorite story regarding Mickey's Christmas Carol was Disney was initially reluctant to ask Alan Young to do the voice of Scrooge in the film, as they thought he might feel it was beneath him. His response was, "I spent years talking to a horse (on Mr. Ed), and you thought this would be beneath me?" He would go on to voice Scrooge on DuckTales right up to the very end, returning to voice him in the remastered video game that Capcom did.

I go back every day in my mind... but yes, I would give up everything today to actually be able to go back to the best time of my life.

M&Ms- Everything about this commercial just speaks to me of the Christmas season. From the dark, peaceful atmosphere, lit up with the Christmas Lights, the people having a great time eating M&Ms together, to the soothing voice of the singer, singing the jingle throughout this commercial. Christmas is portrayed beautifully, I believe.

0:05 - I remember my Mom got me the Mickey plush during a visit to Hardee's. The chain must have done a different Christmas promotion with Disney, as a year later, I got a plush Lady from Lady and the Tramp from there. I also remember when they did a Christmas promotion with Pound Puppies as well one year, and got one of those. Hardee's had some pretty good toys back then.

The promotion you're thinking of was indeed a year after this in '85. I posted an ad for it awhile back: ua-cam.com/video/ukdspRnxU5o/v-deo.html

MCC is my all time favorite rendition of the famous Dickens story. The Tiny Tim parts always make me tear up. And of course... spotting elebs in random TV commercials is always fun.

YES!!!! I still cry when Mickey sheds a tear and stares into the void when he’s at Tiny Tim’s grave. My daughter now loves it.

As someone who would be born a couple years later, it's wild to think that Diet Coke had only been around for a little over two years at this point. It just seems like something that has been around forever. Until I learned differently, I would've assumed it came out in like the mid-50s at the latest... not the early 80s.
Same goes for Cherry Coke, which also came out in this era (a few months after the time of this video actually for the official release).

Diet Coke was a replacement for Tab, which had been Coca Cola's diet cola brand since the early 60's: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tab_(drink)

As a huge fan of the original Poltergeist film, it's impossible to watch that Rainbow Brite commercial, and not picture those dolls plotting against her as she sleeps...

You can toss as many Chewbacca jackets as you like over those ghost dolls, they’ll still get you.

What a strange way to promote Pinocchio. I'd suggest they were wanting to draw in the kids excited by Spielberg movies, but '84 was also the year that Temple of Doom (and Gremlins) got parents mad.

Crystal Barbie-will Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling re-enact this commercial in the Barbie movie?
Highway To Heaven-"Oh no!!!" Whatever was about to happen there couldntve been good
Milk-"we have Adam Ant at home!"
The A-Team-hopefully B.A wasnt in the van 😮
    McDonald's-the Footloose tribute
Pinocchio-maybe Guillermo Del Toro got inspiration for his version from this trailer..
The Sun Also Rises-Spock,Dr Quinn and Louis Skolnick in one movie!

Lol Spock and Hemingway. I wonder what type of relationship Spock and Hemigway would have had. Would it be more Spock/Kirk or Spock/Bones? I could see it going either way.

holy shet they used adam ants song in a commercial? well i mean a parody of it or whatever. didn't think that song was popular enough to warrent it to be in a commercial.
wtf i want that cabbage patch game, it actually looks fun for a kids game.
wait a min, those value packs. if you buy 1 you only get 2 drinks so basically that one box just feeds 2 and if you have 2 kids then you need either another box or you gotta get 2 kids meals and 2 more drinks lol.
