These Thrall coil cars used to be offered by Walthers in kit form during the 80s and 90s. I've put a couple of them together and it's a quite therapeutic experience. The loads, however, came separately.
It's funny to see this production model with a toilet drain, i have one of these my rivet counting dad scratch built back in the 80's when he was a teenager, and he always bragged he had the only HO scale model at contests with a toilet drain😂
The NS Dash 8 engine shown here was ex Conrail 8908 frist built as CR 6007 in 1986 renumbered by NS to 8204 after the Conrail Split in 1999 Retired in 2009 sold to EBBX then to FCCA Railroad of Peru now number 1012 sadly in 2017 was involved in a Derailment in Central Peru, AR and was Scrapped but had it's parts reused for another FCCA Engine also numbered 1012 from ex NS 8648 also a C39-8.
I'd like to see you review some dcc stuff. Different controllers, different dcc locos, different sounds and stuff. But I can appreciate your commitment to keeping it simple with dc
If it’s patched like that and has “NS” that doesn’t make it Conrail. It’s just Norfolk Southern because they have yet to paint it in their black scheme. Great video nonetheless though!!
Nice review! One of the cool things about the Scaletrains C39-8s is, if you have a Norfolk Southern version with DCC/SOUND installed, they're actually programmed from the factory to run long hood forward, just like the prototype was setup to run, pretty cool!

That is a very nice well done detailed NS Ex-Conrail C39-8 that scaletrains did. I think i've seen that exact one at a train show.
I got the exact same model but mine came with sound from the factory. I was blown away when I ran it at my club’s layout for the first time.
