Yes because after hitting max level you can prestige, resetting your level and getting a cool symbol next to your name. At least that's how it's always worked in the past I'm not sure if they've changed it or not in the most recent game.

I feel ya there 😂 My dad is off work for surgery recovery, and doesn't get to play games much; so has been out of the video game loop for 5+ years. I woke up yesterday around 10am to him telling me he bought the vault edition MW3 for us to both play, just to have something to do while he's resting. I wanted to immediately say "Oh fuck, what did you just do!?" I kept calm and told him lets get it, just to give it the benefit of doubt. Played 2 hrs and both of us just decided Bf2042 was better than this, and we actually enjoy playing that all night. Being an Anti-Tank mine jihad like in bf4 has us cracking up
And let's not forget the atrocious bug related to the daily challenges. The game will randomly STOP tracking daily challenge progress, making it impossible to unlock anything until the next day when the daily challenges reset and you restart the app (it can happen again anyways)
I'm still struggling to understand why anyone plays COD anymore. It's been on an endless fall since like BO2 (Maybe MW3 the older one). Not to mention the whole thing that happened with Nickmercs, why is anyone even playing it anymore?
i wanted to unlock the breacher drone today, and to unlock it, i had to do my daily challenges, one of the challenges consisted in getting 2 kills with the breacher drone
welp seems like it was the worst time to jump into cod again haven't played for 5-6 years and i have to say: everything is overwhelming the menu is so complicated, there is so much to do and see in the maps and it is kinda hard to navigate around i watched a bunch of cod the last years on yotube but playing it and getting along with everything is really difficult but at least there is no "stress" in getting the camos and everything if you have to unlock so much stuff
Same, I haven’t bought cod since black ops 4 which I loved. Everything’s too much, the menu and everything, I have no idea wtf is going on half the time and this armoury thing is really sucking the fun out of the game for me. People are now telling me I can’t Prestige after I hit level 55 until I wait for a new season? The game is pretty difficult which I’m okay with but there’s just too much new systems for ranking up n shit n It feels extremely weird, even creating a class I can’t seem to get the hang of I just seem to keep pressing the wrong things and losing my bearings. I was expecting to be able to complete challenges to get calling cards I wanted but it seems like even that’s changed? I’m pretty disappointed, I had no idea they had changed so many things on the game that were not broken, it’s just an over complicated mess that I cannot get used to and I don’t understand what it’s necessary for. My girlfriend says she gets a sore head even looking at me going through the menu or creating classes or anything, don’t blame her. What was wrong with the more simple interface?
The idea is not terrible, but the execution is. I was unaware that crucial gameplay items were locked behind daily challenges. A big complaint about MW2 was that it was boring and there was no reason to play. Also, winning games was not incentivized in MW2 so nobody would play objectives. This idea forces people to play the objectives and gives an incentive to continue to play the game. The community complains that the game is boring and there is nothing to unlock. And then Sledgehammer gives the players a reason to play the objectives, win games, and unlock items and the community still complains!
This doesn't even include the fact that a lot of people are dealing with the fact that the daily challenges aren't tracking properly. I've been playing since the minute it came out for me and I still don't have one of these unlocks because nothing will work
Personally I love the new unlock system. First time getting wins is incentivized. Maybe less people camping in corners in domination, not caring whats happening with the score. The best unlock system cod has seen imo. hopefully its kept this way for games to come
@@Billabongbabalog I never said that. I just gave you a solution to a problem. Its here so we have to deal with it. Probably something SG doesnt even have anything to say about (Activisions decision to boost player retention)
I thought it would be similar to Warzone 2. As someone who hadn't played COD since Verdansk in the original warzone, I found it absolutely ridiculous that now guns have over 15-20 attachments per slot, and only a handful can be unlocked just by leveling up, the rest force you to use an entirely different weapon and level those up as well. Crazy to me
There’s weapons, such as the first sniper, that you also have to complete challenges for the literal attachments and ofc it’s all the aim speed ones it’s ridiculous
I feel like they don't want people to play their games because the average player will just stop playing if it takes too long to play with the stuff they want.
It gets worse. Yesterday i finished 2 daily challenges but the 3rd challenge wouldn't track. It stayed at 0 out of 4 get three kills without dying. So until you finish the 3 daily challenges wins don't count
Xclusive ace did the math, n assuming your completing 3 daily challenges, and then win 5 games an hour (so 3 points a day plus 5 points every hour) it would still take about 35 ish extra hours of playtime and thats assuming you play alot of hours n get alot of dubs. Me as a full time uni student with a part time job. In probably gonna take like a month or 2 to complete everything cus i only play a few hours a week (not even on a daily basis)
In FFA 3 people can win but my lobbies always end with one dude with 30 kills and the five dudes under him tied at 29, it drags and most run out of time.
I don’t know why they just can’t keep the game simple as how we liked it back then. Level up, prestige start over. I don’t think people had an issue with that. Why fix something that isn’t broken?
The most frustrating thing about call of duty is how easy it is to make a good game, they just refuse to do it either out of greed or pure stupidity. It seems to be a combination of both.
This is funny but true. People should not buy this game without knowing what they are getting into. I’ve accepted what CoD has become, I don’t play enough to care as much as a streamer, but it is what it is.
Placing any kind of progression behind wins, while simultaneously having one of the most egregious SBMM systems in existence is about as counterproductive as it gets.
this feels they made the game feel like a grocery list of things you need to complete compared to when you would just play the game and randomly unlock things. if there was something you wanted to unlock you would focus on that challenge.
it's funny because they invented a grind to keep people playing instead of just making a good game that keeps people playing
That's almost every single game now, at least in the fps genre

nah not early, silence sneakers you unlock at level 25, similar to other games. and then you cant use it, you only unlock the choice to activate it and do 3 daily challenges so you cant do it on that day. All my killstreaks are locked, all my equiptment is locked, everything pre much
@@michaelbalnozan5229one of my daily challenges was to use a tactical insertion 3 times, which you unlock at lvl 45 I believe
We could also not artificially expand the grind of a game that already expects too much time and money from its players in the first place
@@michaelbalnozan5229 so you can't complete challenges before reaching the level what you doing to level up so fast we need to know
@@kingkitty026 I popped double XP tokens and started camo challenges always my first thing get alot of XP. Zombies seems alot slower but I played alot of zombies too
0:35 they actually *(TROLL US)*
Im guessing their intention was player retention, the longer it takes to unlock things the more people have to play. Its scummy, but its a strat
That is exactly it. Just player retention, similar to how GTA makes everything so damn expensive so that you play longer to achieve things.
@@JudeDude409gta is a different story there has been so many money glitches and modders to the point everyone is rich af on there and rockstar knows it so they had to make everything hella expensive to combat that. it never used to be like that until all the glitches and mods. I bet when gta6 drops shit will be a lot cheaper in game
@@MoDollas_ fair but didn’t Rockstar take money away from the people who received money through cheating?
@@JudeDude409depends on how blatant people were in glitching, I’ve glitched probably around $200 million and haven’t been reset
@@aomais_ sheeeeeesh must be nice 😂 can’t relate. I stopped playing because they just made everything so expensive and I couldn’t keep up with making money
Being max level and not having Semtex is crazy.
I wanted to slap my brother up side the head today. I was sitting on the toilet and I heard the confirmation purchase sound on the Xbox. This fool literally paid for MW3. Mortal Kombat 1/ Spiderman 2 is out and this is what you buy?!
Being an Anti-Tank mine jihad like in bf4 has us cracking up
@@emonsmorris8833 lol that's cray. I feel that. Maybe you guys can wait for the next cod. Maybe it's better
No one cares about nickmercs
Nick who?
i wanted to unlock the breacher drone today, and to unlock it, i had to do my daily challenges, one of the challenges consisted in getting 2 kills with the breacher drone
Lemme catch my son getting to old to understand basic technology and unlocking systems
Bros actually saying the same thing twice
Lemme catch my son not knowing the difference between to and too
welp seems like it was the worst time to jump into cod again
haven't played for 5-6 years and i have to say: everything is overwhelming
the menu is so complicated, there is so much to do and see in the maps and it is kinda hard to navigate around
i watched a bunch of cod the last years on yotube but playing it and getting along with everything is really difficult
but at least there is no "stress" in getting the camos and everything if you have to unlock so much stuff
If it was like CoD: WW2 people wouldn’t have an issue with it. You can do challenges to get skins for your gun or XP.
This doesn't even include the fact that a lot of people are dealing with the fact that the daily challenges aren't tracking properly. I've been playing since the minute it came out for me and I still don't have one of these unlocks because nothing will work
Lemme catch my son saying first
Not to mention that some of the challenges you can’t complete because they require you to use stuff that you have not unlocked yet
Personally I love the new unlock system. First time getting wins is incentivized. Maybe less people camping in corners in domination, not caring whats happening with the score. The best unlock system cod has seen imo. hopefully its kept this way for games to come
One of my daily challenges requires breacher drones which I need to unlock through daily challenges
You can also extract the locked guns (And equipment) out of zombies. If you have this in mind this becomes much more easier to get everything
And you don't see the issue with playing one thing, but you need to go do this other separate thing to unlock the core things. Great.
Crazy to me
apparently, exfil'ing with it on you in zombies unlocks it
This thumbnail is goated. I love Bru and he was on one that whole week😭
The benefit is the playtime and player retention. It has nothing to do with gameplay enjoyment, its for Activision KPI's
My man birdman using Chris Broussard in the thumbnail is legends
There’s weapons, such as the first sniper, that you also have to complete challenges for the literal attachments and ofc it’s all the aim speed ones it’s ridiculous
They probably want us to buy packs so we can use the guns without the hassle 😭🤣
I feel like they don't want people to play their games because the average player will just stop playing if it takes too long to play with the stuff they want.
Thumbnail with Broussard is legendary
chris brousard thumbnail is crazy
That thumbnail deserves some kind of award
Not only is it locked behind challenges but my challenges are glitched. It won’t let me complete them, so basically no weapons for me.
0:20 I love how this map somehow looks WORSE in this game than it did in MW2019 4 years ago.
I didn't even recognize it at first. Why does it look like that?
That's not even counting the attachments hidden behind this system.
It gets worse. Yesterday i finished 2 daily challenges but the 3rd challenge wouldn't track. It stayed at 0 out of 4 get three kills without dying. So until you finish the 3 daily challenges wins don't count
Thumbnail is Max level brilliance 🔥
You can thank Infinity Ward and Patrick Kelly. They pushed for the system.
Not to mention my daily challenges don’t track so I have no clue when I’m completing challenges
It's even worse when it's bugged out and challenges are bugged out
Xclusive ace did the math, n assuming your completing 3 daily challenges, and then win 5 games an hour (so 3 points a day plus 5 points every hour) it would still take about 35 ish extra hours of playtime and thats assuming you play alot of hours n get alot of dubs.
Because this will keep you playing for longer. And if you play longer, you’ll buy skins!
My daily challenges are bugged out so I have to wait until they refresh and try again
The thumbnail is so underappreciated
Placing any kind of progression behind wins, while simultaneously having one of the most egregious SBMM systems in existence is about as counterproductive as it gets.
let me catch my son pull up his combat record and call it above average
old man gonna get banned for that thumbnail lmaoooo
this feels they made the game feel like a grocery list of things you need to complete compared to when you would just play the game and randomly unlock things. if there was something you wanted to unlock you would focus on that challenge.
The fact they locked killstreaks behind it is crazy
Happy to see they kept the hulu ui designers. I loves mw2 and its bloated mess of giant boxes.
0:53 had to replay that a couple times 💀
