- Today's video is part one in a series about snake enrichment outside of the enclosure. I made a free roaming room for my ball python. Jerry is as sweet and tame as a kitten and he enjoys coming out of his enclosure for handling pretty often, but almost always in my hands. So I feel great being able to let him explore a bigger space with new things to feel and smell and explore. I'll show you how I set this space up and talk about some of the safety concerns you need to consider when free roaming your snake. I hope you enjoy the video.

I have an entire room for two snakes: a 5ft kingsnake and a 22" kingsnake. The big Florida king has full access to the entire room and he enjoys every inch. It's incredible watching him climb, gaze, slither, bask in sunlight and investigate new objects and smells. The young MBK only has a small portion( big for her) to roam freely in but, like the Florida king, she investigates everythig and- despite her small size-wants more room to explore. They are kept in plastic tubs with aspen bedding otherwise.
That’s awesome. My kingsnake moves so fast. I worry he’ll get lost if I let him roam. But maybe one day when he’s a little older.
I've seen people put small, fast, snakes in those puppy pens that are enclosed in mesh
Yes, I was thinking I'd get one of those for my smaller snakes.
