What makes you think the integrated amp is a low quality one? If you want to go passive, then choose something passive instead, the amp in these has already been tuned to this set's characteristics.

@@jcweiz09 Less bright. On-axis and with treble all the way down I still found them too bright. Now (with the resistors) I seem to have more useable range. But in my room I find most speakers too bright and the Edifier's might be fine for most people.
it's an SMPS power supply. It does not came up with a conventional EI stepdown transformer. They use SMPS maybe because this manufacturer ships mostly all around the world and should be auto-volt. 🙂
JBL is less colored in sound and clearer, bether for studio use and analytical listening. R2750 has more bass and is more V shaped, some would prefer it for movies and casual music. I don't think the JBL can connect with a optical cable.
Pretty nice for relatively cheap speakers. This is why Edifier is always praised.
Yes edifier is very cheap and clear sounds, you can add a subwoofer if you want on this speaker =)

They have separate amps for the 3 speakers
They are 3way active. No need for passive crossover. It's controlled by the dsp.

Easy to convert, hard to tune. AB amps are not that great compared to class d.

Hi! How many Ohms is this dome tweeter ?
4 Ohms. I soldered 2 Ohms resistors in series with mine to reduce them a little bit.

Yes they are, you would be hard pressed to find anything but magnetically shielded nowadays I think.
