I didn't remember that Zaros hated Mah. I just thought he had ambitions to grow more powerfull, and he felt like he was held back if he was going to stay with her. So he decided to leave in search of self-improvement.
I don’t think it was one of the elder gods we’ve come to know so well that corrupted Mah. It was likely Xau Tak. We still haven’t really seen Xau-Tak but we’ve seen it’s presence in fights with the Ambassador and the Blackstone Dragon. The many arms reaching through the void. The same thing that corrupted Raksha.

In theory it's RS3, but some parts of it may be canon in OSRS too, not sure how they're playing the elder gods over there
