I really enjoyed the guests. They introduced me to many artists that I had not heard of before. Then I would look them and get more familiar with their work.

Yes, they are not that cultured in the traditional sense but they all have their hands in so many things and that's okay. You don't have to be an expert on everything. I did think Junny would have done better on the classical music because those are the most used pieces of music!

Man these guys reminiscing about childhood is refreshing. Ashley is my age 91 babies but the fact we all shared pretty much the same memories growing up is amazing.
I don’t think kids these days will share the same kind of childhood.
What I love about get real is that only the guys will make you know that they shot about two episodes the same time but Ashley is always slaying and changing her outfit and the guys couldn’t be bothered to

As someone who went to school for music, I loved their convo about classical music. Also, Peniel, I go to a series of concerts every summer in Ohio where they play a movie with a live orchestra. It's normally Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars. Come to Cleveland OH during the summer and I'll take you.
I enjoy this show because I’m close in age that I can relate to so many of their memories. VHS is something that people don’t know how amazing it was! I loved rewinding it and watching the scenes backwards. 😂
I can relate so much to crying on 'family related scenes' - anything to do with sacrifice or just struggles out of true love between parents/children/siblings will just give me hysterics within 3 secs.

One of my favorite Chopin pieces to this day and was my introduction to Chopin.
Books to READ: Please Look After Mom by Shin Kyung-Sook (it will make you cry), The Sweet Spot by Amy Poeppel (hilarious and set in New York), and Three Women by Lisa Taddeo (incredible and dark).

I think all of you ARE cultured. Your exposure to different artistic expressions (music, painting, architecture, etc) may be at different levels so it would not be fair to say you are NOT CULTURED. Art is felt and though we may not know the artists true intentions or message, it stirs something in our souls and I believe that is what art is meant to be.

I think you are more cultured than you think. You might not know the composers, but the classical music was familiar to you. It’s like how I listen to current songs and don’t really know all the words or even all the artists, but I can appreciate the songs anyway.

Someone please teach Ashley how to pronounce Chopin correctly, her American friend taught her wrong. It's not her fault! The way Matthew pronounced it around 55:49 was actually very close to it. Chopin was born in Poland, but his father was French so his last name is French too. It's similar to American people pronouncing the Korean last name 최 as Choi even though it's pronounced Chae. You'll get used to it, you accept it, but it's still wrong. Right? Love from a German who hated French class but has a French best friend 🥰🤣

I really enjoyed kdrama with Kim Se-jeong It's called I Wanna Hear Your Song (너의 노래를 들려줘). There are a lot of classical music. I heard about Rimsky-Korsakov but I didn't know about Scheherazade. Now it's my favorite suite.

Here are a couple of recommendations for the hosts ♡
There's this English bookstore close to 길음역 called Sehwa. The owner is really kind and friendly, and the bookstore has a variety of books, which I believe Ashley would appreciate.
Since BM and Juny are interested in artworks, I think they would enjoy one of the immersive digital art exhibitions taking place at THART in 홍대. From Van Gogh to Monet to Mucha, the exhibitions bring the artists' masterpieces to life using large screens and projection mapping. It's also super affordable!
Last but not least, I think Peniel would enjoy attending a Candlelight concert where they perform not only classical music but also movie soundtracks, including soundtrack from his beloved Harry Potter movie.

I loved art history when I was younger so I really enjoyed when I was in Europe and saw a lot of the buildings they talked about and love the museums and internal and external architecture of the chapels (I’m not religious) but I can see how it can be less interesting to someone into it. I really want to see the sagrada familia in Barcelona when it’s finished in 2026. I also really like street art so I get BM too.
