What I really like about this ost is that it often is very energetic, yet it also has that melancholic feel. It feels like the ost is about pushing you forward in times of crisis, which fits the theme of the game
I thought I was mentally insane for liking Sonic Forces' OST (and the game in general), but I'm glad I'm not the only one :)) Forces' soundtrack is a favorite of mine and I genuinely believed it paved the way for Frontiers' soundtrack (which is easily my top 3). I feel like Forces has a sort of Mega Man sound to it, specifically Mega Man X. Heavy synths with some rock elements, as well as drum n' bass. Also, I think Final Judgment is kinda funny because, while I've never heard anyone talk about it, I've heard it in a lot of memes... Anyways, nice video and happy... happy :))
I really like that they went the Shadow in SA2 route with the Avatar's songs, where the vocals reflect the character's thoughts in the level. A song like Nowhere to Run is quiet and frantic, since the rookie is still new and is deep in enemy territory, while one like Fading World is deperate and dramatic, showing how they've grown. Its a great way to do characterization for a character who cant talk. Also Egg Gate is STRAIGHT HEAT, S TIER SONG
while I don't agree that the soundtrack is S teir (probably A teir) it's nice to see someone be possotive about forces for a change. (infinite is still the best sonic villain vocal track and I will die on that hill) also love your vids
'Red Gate Bridge' is a track I love in the game but its such a shame that you just never get to fully appreciate it since the track gets cut off a few seconds into the stage it plays on.
Yea, I agree with almost everything in this video. I never had any, if at all, complaints with the Sonic Forces soundtrack. I understand why people aren’t huge fans of it, but I always thought it could still hold its own against other Sonic OSTs. 2:33 Facts. I think it’s better than the interior theme, honestly. Both go hard, though. 3:28 This is one of those pieces of music you don’t think about appreciating until you actually give it a listen. It’s a little unfortunate that you don’t hear it for that long in-game. If that were the case, I could easily see more people talking about this track. 4:00 I prefer it with the rest of the instruments. Only having the drums and bass makes it feel… not as finished (for lack of a better term). Also, hi! I’m new here, and this is my first time watching one of your videos. Great one, dude! You just earned a new sub! :D
THANK YOU FOR POINTING OUT NETWORK TERMINAL network terminal stuck out to me big time when i first heard it, it has such a good "rush to the interior NOW" vibe to it, and its so damn catchy overall i really appreciated this video, as i thought i was the only one that loved this OST, so its nice to find another forces ost enjoyer! avatar's music i feel was the beta for cyberspace's tracks and that can def be felt especially with songs like flowing
I love the Sonic Forces Soundtrack. The Modern Tracks give off some Awesome High Speed Energy, the Classic Tracks are chill and Catchy, and the Avatar Tracks are pure Main Character Vibes. My favorites are definitely Luminous Forest, Sunset Heights, Network Terminal Exterior, Enemy Territory, Ghost Town, and Silent Forest.
Glad you enjoyed! And dang, this is the second song I have forgotten. I feel like that proves the point even more that there’s so many good songs that I forgot some.
I feel like I’m the only person who really likes Classic Sonic’s Green Hill 😐 (Caution, this comment turned out a lot longer than I expected, possibly because I list some lyrics) I do think it’s cool what they do with the lyrics for the Avatar’s stages. It feels as if it’s echoing internal thoughts. The first one is pretty optimistic: “In the distance I see the light of hope Shining Can’t give in or we’ll lose it all No surrendering, we will carry on Fighting Battling to win back our world” It matches with the feel of “We’re in this terrible situation but we’re _still_ here, we’re on our way to save Sonic, and we’ll win this war! It’s not over!” Then once inside the actual Death Egg, the enemy’s territory where many people have been taken possibly never to be seen again, surrounded by danger, it’s where you hear thoughts of doubt and hopelessness sink in: “All my anxiety Now is taking control of me I’m holding on to every little bit of hope Got a feeling you are near Somewhere here in the atmosphere I can’t escape there’s nowhere left for me to hide Nowhere to run Nowhere to hide Destiny will vanish forever Nowhere to run Nowhere to hide Oblivion is coming forever” And at the end of the course we see that the Avatar was getting ganged up on by a group of robots, afraid about what to do (if I remember correctly) I also like how the vocals are different voices and ideals because it then feels like it reflects the thoughts of more than one person, and it reminds you of the army that’s risen up against Eggman and Infinite. It gives you different points of view from people in the war and that’s cool 😄 I do really enjoy Sonic Forces’s soundtrack and I listen to it every now and again. I also like Modern Sonic’s music the most. My favorites (1st to 3rd) of those are Final Judgement, Mortar Canyon, and Red Gate Bridge. For the Avatar it would be Spaceport, perhaps Aqua Road, and maybe the city (forgot the name). For Classic Sonic I have Ghost Town, Chemical Plant, and…I can’t remember another one I especially like off the top of my head so…Green Hill 😅 And I have the boss music as its own category. And I can’t decide between most of them which is my 2nd and 3rd favorite, so I’ll only say my favorite is the Final Boss theme. It’s mostly that escalation of the music after the guitar opening that I love (the higher notes), and the rest of the music is mostly cruising off the vibe it set. But the atmospheric tone set of the beginning is very nice too. Really enjoyed watching the video and hearing your thoughts and breakdown on a soundtrack I really enjoy! It’s even more cool to see this because it can be overlooked since people can just write the game off as terrible and move on, or the stages are too short to hear most of it. So I was happy to come across this 😄 Hope you don’t mind the long comment too much 😅 Thank you so much for uploading!
I like Forces ost, and while is not my favorite, it's one of the few Sonic albums I can listen to without feeling the urge to skip a track lol (no its not a joke, and I don't know why).
3:00 I knew you're gonna mention Final Judgement, but didn't much expect the Reactor version. Also my theory is that this was suppose to be a boss theme in "Sand Hill". Like some sand golem like in SA 2 or something. Because it goes into those Egypt vibes like you get the point.
Wish we could comment memes. I’d have Patrick doing the villain hand rubbing. Or Tai Lung saying, “Our battle will be legendary!” 😂 Good video 👍🏾 While you might not have made me call this an S tier OST, I can definitely say you make good points for the quality of it. I was only hoping you had “This Is Who You Are” in the playlist. That track is something else🔥! 😄
I like calling Forces OSt the Yeezus of Sonic but decided not to write about it and then I realised that Avatar on footages is dressed like Kanye during 808s & Heartbreak era (except rings?). huh. Final Judgment gives heavy arab dubstep vibes btw.
This game has an awesome OST. I really dislike classic Sonics music because it could have been so much better, but both modern Sonic and the Avatars tracks go really hard. Modern sticks with the rock kind of vibe that we've grown to love through the adventure games and adapts it into something fresh- Whilst avatars music takes a entire new direction, kind of portraying them as a unique outcast- seperates them from Sonic and the gang a little.
Sonic Forces is far from a good game, a okay game at best. But man the music doesn't deserve that kind of hate though. There are some bangers in this game that are overlooked far too often in my opinion.

You boost foward to the danger, and then suddenly the Electric synth BS comes in, you trip over a rock, hit a wall and realize this is Sonic Forces music.

Got a feeling you are near
Somewhere here in the atmosphere

Destiny will vanish forever
Nowhere to run Nowhere to hide
Oblivion is coming forever”
And at the end of the course we see that the Avatar was getting ganged up on by a group of robots, afraid about what to do (if I remember correctly)
