the CGI of Luffy stretching his cheek is underrated. They nailed human flesh and how thr light goes through it. Also, kid Luffy looks so accurate 😂 Well cast Netflix 👏
IKR! also inaki's performance is so good imo, he balances the lightheartedness and seriousness of luffy, especially when he says "no one messes with my friends". that was my fav moment and people dont talk abt it enough!!
Tekking actually brought up an interesting point that it might've partially been done practically, like they attached a skin imitation to his cheek for Inaki to stretch, and then used CG to make it look like it's his mouth
I was scared about the CGI, but it actually looks good.
@@alexandruandros1271it’s actually super simple than that, framestore vfx released their CGI reel for the show and they only used a rubber band! it’s crazy how they made it believable just by using the most basic of tools and yet a multimillion dollar company (disney) couldn’t do it

The bottom poster on the bulletin board is Cavendish, which I like cause he was from the east blue and set out to sea before Luffy so it makes sense for him to already have a poster

Yeah they did. And it looks awful. Ruins an otherwise really good design. Buggy steals the show for me. The producers of this show should have the guy who plays Buggy do a tutorial for the other actors on how to call out attacks. His "CHOP CHOP CANNON" was probably the least cringe iv heard an english speaker call out an attack name. Extremely impressed by that.

@@maybeitsyou1317 The choices they made seem pretty subjective. Personally I think Arlong could be a bit bigger but other than that he looks great! Buggys "Chop Chop Cannon" was a bit cringy for me but I'm not sure why. It does kinda fit the character and I didn't rly have many issues with it when Luffy did it in the teaser. Other than that Buggy looks amazing. The only thing that's kinda weird is that the weapons just look like plastic, which is especially noticable with Mihawk in this trailer. They could've done better with that.
My only gripe with LA Arlong is that they didn't add more muscle to him for intimation, made his saw nose more human instead of making it look more like a real saw shark nose, longer and smoother, and the voice, just make it more normal and add chill arrogance and it'll been perfect.
@@maybeitsyou1317 Personally I don't mind the toned down, realistic appearance. I find that live adaptations of animes that try way too hard to closely match the style tend to look very uncanny. Although, they should have made him more giant.
Posters belong to Alvida, Foxy, Bellamy and Cavendish. The last one appears in the story much-much later (in Dressrosa arc), but he was active pirate when Luffy started his journey, so basically his poster is a easter-egg for people who watched more than 800 episodes already. Smth like that...

Is anyone else genuinely hyped about this? From what we’ve seen so far, it looks incredible. If they can nail the landing, it would be the greatest live action adaptation of an anime ever.
i'm so hype for this live action, the wait for august 31st is agonizing!! i'm a huge OP manga & anime fan for over a decade and it makes my heart & soul soo happy to see this coming to life! can't stop smiling whenever i watch the trailer :)
Yep. Was hype from the start because Matt Owens joined the Reverie. The first teaser made me a bit disappointed, but this one made me excited again!
I love seeing excited fan reactions to this! I’m betting on seeing a teaser of the rest of the crew at the end- even if it’s just a reindeer antler, a violin in the distance of a ship graveyard, etc.

Arlong Park is modelled after Sabaody park. It's easy to miss that in the anime, that's probably why they added booths in the LA
they mention it in fishman island arc, so jack will find out soon enough
Yep, it's mentioned in a dialogue in Fishman Island. So the connection we make is not the same he makes since he still hasn't reached that.

Zoro in the well is when Mihawk talks about Zoro being a "Frog in the well"
Speculation for me is that it's after Zoro gets beat and is about to pass out and he's seeing it in his mind.
And even though Jack doesnt know, I love that Cabbage was on the wall bc it fits continuity wise in the world and story.
The frog in the well is maybe a nice reference to Wano where he also met someone in his mind

I kinda agree on Arlong`s nose, but if you look at Saw Shark wich Arlong is, its actually how the real sharks look like 😂 and yeah there is alot of easter eggs and forshadowing for stuff or characters waaay down the line, love it ! 😝

Might be naive but I am rly excited for this especially since I rly love the cast already. I'm hoping so much that this does well so we can get to Alabasta with the large scale war and Crocodile as the first real big bad. I'm getting so pumped just thinking about it. Just pls be as good as it looks pls.
The added amusement park thing in Arlong Park, which I didn't pick up on the first time I saw the trailer, might simply be a reference to the fact that Arlong and his crew were trying to recreate the Sabaody amusement park, which seems like a great expansion from what we saw originally in the manga/anime, and in the wanted posters section there's also Cavendish's that you can see, but he's not on Dressrosa yet, so makes since he didn't see it. Honestly, I'm always skeptical with those live action adaptations (heard the new Saint Seiya LA was garbage, so), but it's the little attention to details like those that really make me think that this product is in good hands, making me cautiously optimistic for it.

They've changed up the order of things for sure, Nami is joining at the same time as Zoro at Shell Town, so they can't do the whole thing with Luffy being caught in the bird's mouth and flown to Orange Town, so guessing that flare/explosion is how they get mixed up with Buggy. Also Arlong is shown at both Baratie and Buggy's tent so likely he's pursuing Nami across the whole season and catches up with her at Baratie after the Krieg fight. I'm pretty sure given her body language that the line about forgiving them, they're idiots is her speaking to Arlong in an attempt to get Arlong to not kill the crew. He'll take her back to Arlong Park and they'll chase after them for the final showdown. Also thinking the well/hole Zoro is down is how they'll delay him getting to the fight against Kuro as the slipping on oil isn't as realistic. Arlong Park is built to be like the Sabaody Amusement Park, so that is why there are game stalls and slides set up around it.
Solid predictions, especially about Zoro in the well, but I’m pretty sure Nami’s line isn’t to Arlong but instead is her meeting Sanji.
I think him in the well might be metaphorical, when Mihawk says he’s a frog in the bottom of the well, unaware of the vast ocean.

It's not that we think it's gonna suck, it's that we really want to believe it's going to be good.
It has so much going for it this might actually be THE live action series.
This might be what we're all watching for the next 15 years.
But we've been burned so many times, no live action works, that's pretty much a fact now.
It's actually scary, please be as good as we want, be that one.

Keep in mind that if a trailer has you hyped for something, it's just doing what it's supposed to do. I'm cautiously optimistic though. Many of the people actually working on it do seem to be passionate and care, but they're still adapting something that's borderline un-adaptable. I'm also worried about any corporate tomfoolery and meddling we might not be seeing on the part of Netflix itself though, but the fact they're embracing so many goofy aspects about the source material is a sign to me that this might not be occurring too much.
The problem is for this netflix series is one piece characters are so hard to make real life versions its going to look bad

Yeah, this trailer shows us that this show will be highly condensed, especially since the restaurant and arlong park arks are being blended into one, and I thought they cut don krieg, but he is casted, so I think he'll just have a smaller part cause of said ark blending. Like in a game where you go to fight one boss only for something bigger and meaner to defeat them and take their place.
The current fan theory is that Arlong is going to be chasing/following Nami as a way to build continuity and then take her back to Arlong park instead of her stealing the Merry so less blending then you’d think
@@TheJjcczzmakes sense I guess to have him as like a small part during the early episodes building him up to be the main antagonist of the show until maybe he shows up at biratie and kidnaps nami so Luffy and co have to travel to arlong park to rescue her instead of have her go off with the merry on her own.
I mean... if Arlong Park looks like an amusement park that just makes sense, considering it was constructed to emulate Sabondy Park. xD
Shanks looks amazing! I really hope he says the "put your life on the line" line. For those of you who have never heard of Peter Gadiot who is playing Shanks, he was in Queen of the South. I highly recommend it. He is fantastic in it. And Buggy looks great too. The dude playing him was in Agents of S.H.I.E.LD. I don’t know who is playing Roger but he might as well be Johnny Depp. I think we see Bellemere. I think she is the female Marine in dark blue we see running at 26 seconds into the trailer. It looks like Arlong is at Buggy's big top and Baratie. I'm going to guess that he is tracking Nami and he catches up to them at Baratie. Nami saying “You’ll have the excuse them, they're idiots" is to Arlong and she is trying to spare their lives as she betrays them. I was wondering if there were going to reference to things that aren't referenced in the original East Blue manga like the other supernovas & it looked like I was right because we see a reference to Foxy & Bellamy. They weren’t referenced in the original East Blue Saga. My only complaints are that I’m not sure if I'm a fan of Luffy naming the crew himself. He doesn’t think that far ahead. Unless they give him a line where he makes it clear he came up with it on the spot. The other thing that we are two trailers in and all Usopp has said “hit the deck”. It’s probably not on purpose but he’s a main character.

really awesome to see bellamy and foxy poster shown really early, shows that assuming this does well they plan to go further, Although Im honestly not sure I want it to further then east blue, because its only going to become harder and harder to pull off live action versions of op character. Arlong is way to small, dude has an average build here but hes supposed to be massive. if you cant do arlong how tf you gonna do admirals, doffy, kuma etc.

Looks like they have Nami be an active part of the crew since the marine base where Zoro was, the Fishman in the Baratie could be a change that the Arlong Pirates came for Nami there because she was gone too long or something. Nami also seems to be a part of the walk to Arlong Park.

Jack, remember how Camie talked about seeing the Sabaody fair was something every fishman wanted to visit when they were kids? That's why Arlong Park is modelled after a fair as well. Arlong wanted something similar.

Something I've noticed is people tend to forget Arlong park was an attempt to make a replica of Sabaody Park, which is an amusements park.
So it does make sense for it looking like a fair, as it was a place where the Gyojin could go, enjoy and have fun (at least that was Arlong's original idea with a little bit of destruction in te middle)

Most of the things look alright. They really should have left the white spines off arlongs nose though. It ruins an otherwise good design.
Obviously the show is gonna be a quicker version of the anime where events happend a lot earlier. The good thing is that Oda verify the script so it would mean that this is, to some extend, a one piece recap version from Oda himself, like what will he told people when they ask him to tell the story quickly.

There are water slides as well as a Ghost Train and a Shark Attack attraction.
There were people complaining that some rocks looked like plastic but it's probably because they are plastic even in-univers (in the context of the amusement park).
Bro, I love how Buggy looks so fucking terrifying. But looks like they're hyping up Arlong to be the biggest bad in East Blue by hinting him as early as Buggy. Might be at the expense of Krieg tho since it looks like there's a fight between Arlong on Baratie. And you're not there yet in the anime, but Arlong Park has a carnival theme for a reason.

I didn't know Cavendish bounty was on it, damn already foreshadowing dofflamingo arc in 10 years time.
Some fun stuff about the outfits they're wearing, you can see they were very accurate with Nami's outfits in early East Blue, Baratie and Arlong Park.
The other guys didn't change outfits too much in the original, so they actually pulled some of the outfit designs from a few of the theatrical specials. Like if you notice Usopp is wearing a camo outfit in Arlong Park instead of his usual brown overalls, that is actually a direct copy of Usopp's outfit from an old theatrical special called Chopper's Kingdom (okay, it has a much longer title but that's enough to help you find it)
Looks good. I hope it is and I hope it does well so we can see this crazy, goofy live action version continue. If we get Season 2, we'll be getting Chopper, Robin, Ace and Crocodile next season. That'll be fire.

Seems to me that they're gonna kind of combine Baratie and the beginning of Arlong Park. Maybe in this version Arlong comes to get Nami at the baratie after everything that happens with Krieg. Cause Krieg has 100% been cast. So I'm assuming after all that plus the Mihawk stuff then he shows up and Nami goes with them. Maybe the "you'll have to forgive them they're idiots" line is her talking to arlong
I legitimately think this looks so so good for a live action adaption. I hope they did everything they could to capture episode 37 in all it's greatness.
In the last shot with the WANTED posters, the one poster you noticed along with Alvida is a character you have yet to encounter. It is an Easter Egg, though.
I think this was hinted at in the sabaody archipelago arc so it’s not a spoiler (but I don’t remember, it might only be revealed in the fishman island arc).
Making Arlong park look more like an amusement park makes sense when you consider it basically being a fish man recreation of Sabaody park. Its a nice addition for the people who know.
the mystery guy of the wanted poster is "the white horse" Cavendis, the commander of the first division of luffy's grand fleet, so this show wants to do ALL the arcs.

This trailer was amazing. So many things are shown; like Roger's execution, more Shanks and more Buggy, Mihawk, Arlong Park, Arlong's crew, Bellmere's grave, the iconic giving hat to Nami scene, destruction of Arlong Park, and so much more. Honestly, my only kind of complaints are the fact that we don't see Don Krieg or het a tease of him. I mean, they show us Kuro attacking Merry, so I didn't quite understand why they didn't show us that. However, people in the comment section say that Don Krieg has his own poster on the official website, so okay then. The other kind of complaint is that Arlong's nose is as you said those sharp parts are not as thick, however now that I have seen it a couple of times it looks really good and he could've been a little bit taller, but I guess it looks fine. I'm very excited for the live overall.😊😊😊

I love how positive the reception is the like dislike ratio for the teaseer on youtube was 60-40 and now its 92-8 soooo many people love it now coz it actually looks good for the most part
That initial teaser was really bad. Also it's just gonna be an uphill battle for them. Trying to make a live action anime adaptation under netflix..yeah people are gonna need to be won over. And I think this latest trailer accomplished that. Buggy is the best part of the whole show far as I can tell.

the flare was when they find broke and also the sky started to rain big i mean giants ice cubes .
but it doesnt make sense for the barrel with the flare to happen yet, that happens way further into the show, so its probably something new

It doesn't even feel like a 3 minute trailer, and unlike most other 3 minute trailers, it doesn't overexpose its story and content. It shows just enough to keep people hyped. And it bloody worked on me.
The "Zoro stuck in a well" was on water seven (the island where we found Franky and got Sunny for the first time !)

There’s a blink and you’ll miss it Easter egg at the beginning of the trailer around the 40 second mark of jacks reaction, when you see the crowd at rogers execution. If you look at the right of the crowd you can see a mysterious figure in a long green cloak with the hood up……looks extremely dragon like if you ask me 😉

I think the well scene where Zoro at the bottom of it will an existential crisis portrayed in his mind. It's a reference to Mihawk stating how Zoro is the best Swordsman in the East Blue and that he is a frog in a well that doesn't know how big the world is if he thought he stood a chance against him. I bet he'll wake up from it just after his loss against Mihawk and before swearing his loyalty to Luffy.
