War of the Princes!
War of the Prince begins on the Magnificent Century! Bayezid gets relegated to Amasya but he controverts Suleiman's order and doesn't leave Kütahya. He declares a war against Selim and gathers soldiers. Suleiman gets shocked by his son's decision and tries to control his anger. Mihrimah faces off against her father to be able to protect Bayezid. Meanwhile, Selim waits for Suleiman's edict in a fright.
Mihrimah goes to Kütahya to convince Bayezid but she gets shocked by what she sees. She hides the truth from Suleiman as she understands that the war is fated. Bayezid advances upon Selim with his army being unaware of the betrayal awaits him. Suleiman sends back up for Selim and gets given fetwa for Bayezid's killing. The armies of the two princes meet in Konya Plains.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

How unfair it was with Farhiye.Throughout the scene, Selim did just one good thing, snatching the ring from Nurbanu and embarrassing her in front of the servants for this theft.

To be fair I do feel like there's a lot more to analyse than just that. The ring means something specific and personal to each wearer. Although that is kind of the trend. I'd say it represents love to Hürrem, status to Nurbanu, power to Safiye, both power and the further erosion of her innocence to Kösem and strength to Turhan.

Sometimes I feel sorry for Selim. He is full of insecurities. I'm not knowledgeable of the history but from what I read in reality Selim is a kind sultan. He's a sultan who doesn't want to be one but have to fight for it for his survival. To cope up of stress he became alcoholic. There are only 2 choices for a crown prince, either the throne or elimination.

Nothing about the scene indicated he was OK with it at all. He straight up said Nurbanu would be dead if she hadn't given birth to his children at that point.
Also keep in mind, Selim does not have Bayezid's temper, he wouldn't execute someone on the spot, especially not over what his favourite concubine did. She has the title of favourite for a reason, said favourite was also almost killed by his mother and his mother favoured his brother, there's going to be a decent disconnect.

Hafsa treated Hurrem horribly and discriminated against her but she was sick Hurrem regularly came to visit her. She showed respect and admiration, she really admired Hafsa despite the ill treatment she received from her mother in law. When Hafsa died Hurrem cried. If I was in her place I’d have been happy.
Have a look at Nurbanu. Hurrem chose her and made her, she was always patient with Nurbanu. What did Nurbanu do? Stole a ring from a dead woman and disrespected her memory.
