I understand that murdering someone for writing over your piece is over the top, but anyone who was involved in the graff world (especially in the 90s) presumably knew very well that piecing over someone’s piece (and a massive one of that, in this movie) is seriously asking for it. Looks like there was a lot more wall available for getting up on, so that was pretty stupid of that writer to pick going over their giant KOS just to get his name and/or crew up.
Adrian1018 Wouldn’t it still be risky to bomb or write there anyway, even on the open space around the KOS piece? It doesn’t seem wise to do that in gang or rival crew turf, especially if you’re more about getting your name and work out there as an artist.
@@Thejordanenthusiast Not really to be honest with you , what they really care for is their boming piece not to be over written. To be honest I actually been in a situation like this in the railroad tracks at night back in 2003, I wasn't slashing or writing over anybody's bomb piece was just doing my own thing until a group of four saw me around the area and decided to hit me up, of course at the time I didn't back down out of it and yelled out what I write, they just represented their own click and yeldell out " don't fuk with us or else" and they just walked away. And i was 89% sure that one of them was strapped bc because one of the dudes hands was invisible. Moral of the story is if nobody is fucking with yo shit , then don't fuck with their shit.

a bunch of bad ass vatos I'm not from Cali but all the streets from the state's make us gang affiliated either we die young end up doing time or live to teach the young ones something better , love this film since I was a kid
Poor Benny and César.Benny died only bc of a threat he made to a teacher and César shot himself bc he didn't want for Garfield to beat him after all the feud that happened between them. That's 187
This scene gave me nightmares for years when I was a kid. I grew up in Los Angeles in the 90s and got jumped more than once by guys like these. Good thing I was a really fast runner ... or I'd be dead like this kid.
flip1sba In LA...the bay isnt like that, neither is New York city or Chicago...just LA.....Gangsters terned taggers into tagbangers then into neighborhoods....same with party crews from the 90s
HollywoodSaint 57 I thought even in the Bay, it’s still risky to bomb or write in Norteño hoods. I imagine Ene’s killing someone for that just like Ese’s but also burying the body somewhere in the fields outside the Bay (Like in Lodi, Tracy, Davis, etc).
Most people are not like this. A place like the Philippines is far more dangerous and I still even survived there alone for 9 months without anything happening.
I always thought of that crazy foo from Toonerville. Timothy Joseph Mcghee...looks like their neighborhood in the riverbed off the 5frwy and Los Feliz area. He was probably the scariest gangster in LA. Doing shit like that in this clip.
You know why he was so crazy and feared? Because he used a firearm for every time he needed to step to someone because the truth is that fool use to get picked on in school for being a dopey skater kid and would get his ass kicked all the time. Matter of fact he was never capable of giving any kind of beatdowns to anyone one on one, he couldn't scrap for shit, and because of always getting his ass whooped it made him so traumatized and paranoid into believing he'd get stomped again so that was why he joined a gang. All that pent up embarrassment he had to live with drove him into becoming a murderous loser.
Same thing happened to one of my older brothers. We grew up in a suburban Michigan town, but he couldn't help himself by renting movies like this and trying to portray some of these characters
If you were out in LA in the 90s it was a lot of reckless people running the streets. It’s not as bad now but I have gotten jumped by gangsters outside of a pool hall in Koreatown with no provocation. Luckily we walked away that night. My cousin had to run for his life and escaped with a lot of damage to his face. Don’t think this kind of behavior doesn’t exist out
This was inspired by a real murder at the LA River by Huero from Toonerville. In the real story the tagger was killed and a homeless man who witnessed the murder was killed also. His actual name was Timothy McGhee and he grew up in the Atwater Village section of Los Angeles.
This movie captured the 90s. Perfectly. Cinematography..the filters.
