PTSD is real man... I use to love guns but after getting shot by one that paralyzed me I'm afraid to be near anyone carrying and the sound of guns scares me now
Man, I swear. Lobo Sebastian (Benny Chacon) plays these gang banger roles toooooooo damn well, it's like as if you wonder if he really banged in real life. I know he's a heck of an actor, but in Next Friday, Next Day Air, 187, and some other films he's played these gang banger parts to a tee even without much dialogue.
Benny was almost disappointed to see Mr G actually write him up. This movie reminds me of high school so much. Under age students lashing out for attention and only receiving punishment. As a father now when my children act out I know that I need to calm myself and asses the situation. Figure out the cause of the anger and help them to understand and de escalate the situation as much as possible while still explaining the consequences of negative actions. Love is stronger than fear. When I was in high school I wasn’t afraid of shit. I hated the world. And when someone threatened me with discipline I lashed out in “I don’t give a fuck mode” because I was so damaged already... this movie is a classic.

LAUSD went really downhill with the creation of "schools within schools"! Now, there is no accountability or even anyone knows who is in charge of what in any LAUSD school. Most of the teachers are just gathering space to collect their paychecks and retirement, while the good teachers are pressured to quit by Administration.
I wanted a rosary (Benny's necklace) ever since I saw this movie! But couldn't find them! and somehow this year they are totally back, I see everyone wearing them again! and finally got one! Loved the movie, so realistic.
This movie was dead on a representation of California schools in the 90s. It was all fun and games until that bell rang at the end of the day.. I remember watching this movie as a kid and thought it was over exaggerated until I reached HS..
