I would really appreciate it if you could make a tutorial to how to setup your Akai and RC 505 together. just like you are using them here. Like which USB mode do u use on RC 505 and which software do u use for recording and stuff. Thank you
I can’t get it so my 505 will be used as an interface , so. I just plug my akai to the computer then main left out of my interface , into instrument line in rc505.
I bet it goes: MPK Mini (acts as midi keyboard/pad trigger) laptop [ DAW - Ableton or MPC Beats/2 which plays/triggers VST instruments, drums etc ] RC505 (which acts as Audio/Soundcard here) AND a Looper to record and loop audio signal IMPORTANT: USB Routing on RC505 must be set to "Loop in" so that Laptop Audio output generated on RC505 is taken as audio input to record and loop
Just guessing but it looks like it's setup through his laptop, into whatever DAW he uses (Ableton, Cubase, FL Studio etc) and from there the audio is going from the headphone jack to the RC-505 using a 3.5 mm -> 6mm jack cable. That's how I'd do it
@Tanvir sagor I didn't connect the loopstation via midi, only the audio signal from the laptop. But the rest is completely right. And thank you for helping the community. 🤗
@Tanvir sagor Thanks 😊, but where do you reckon the interface is plugged in on the Mac? I can see only the Akai Connecting. Can I use an aux cable to connect Mac to the Rc505 and then output from 505 to a Roland speaker for, exampl e? Thanks
Lovely .. I have used 505. Im getting an akai mini play. Also got a guitarele .n just got a uke bass. I have a kronos at home n use it for backing loops . The akai will be for street work ..with melodica n percussion..

We are just AMAZED at your talent. As for the tech, can you imagine telling people about trying to invent something like akai mpk and a loop station? Thanks from Toronto, Canada
bro, how do you capture the audio!? I have the loop station but I don't know how to record with a camera and watch it back like this? Do you record into a daw? Can you please help me? I thought it would be straight forward but there is literally no one that talks about simply recording your loop sessions. I want to make videos like these but don't know how to record without my camera audio equimpment. Please help.
Great video, nice live looping Sir! Could you explain how you hook up the MIDI keyboard to the Boss 505 and the Laptop? Your basic hard wire layout. I'm assuming you're running your live system daw-less but please confirm,. Thanks!
Hey brother, you can't imagine how many times I listen to this amazing awesome track but Can you make it a bit longer because it can be an amazing track. I tried to find the elephant Moore on Spotify but I couldn't
Could you please make a video tutorial on how you set up your jam station??? I’m curious where your boss Gt 1 pedal comes into play and also where the audio interface and recorder are all set up. That would be super rad. There’s tons of loop videos where people are throwing down but no one ever goes over their set up or if they do it’s a gear video. Love the jam keep up the good work!
How do you have all of this hooked up together? What outputs, inputs and wires are you using to sync all of it up? Including the Zoom recorder? Thanks...SBN RESONATE
Would it be possible to use the akai through the boss while also running a guitar through the loop station to an amplifier or would i have to have run it all through the computer. I honestly a little confised on how midis work i just know it would work best for what im trying to use it for.
You could do something like that if you use a mixer board for your input to the boss. I have that setup personally, so I can use any input I want into the looper. Pyle makes some cheap mixers that are sold on Amazon for relatively cheap.
Hey bro! This is awesome. I am having trouble connecting my rc505 to the same midi mpk mini you have. Is there an audio interface that I need or plug the akai directly into the input section for midi controls?
Yes, the MPK mini is triggering the VSTs on the computer, and the RC-505 receives the sound from the laptop. The midi controller is usually plug and play, unless you need to activate it on Logic settings.
Nice! I have this setup and I’m looking for setup options, for audio routing, you’re going from Mac into 505 and back out to an interface? How’re you recording it? Thanks!
Hi!! Can you help me out with the way to plug everything together? I have a keyboard (oxygen Pro 25) the RC505 and the MacBook and speakers. How to plug them all to be able to loop the keyboard and get the sound out of my speakers? Thanks!!
Hi, im trying to sync the 202 with the keystep pro, with the 202 as master, but after loop recording the tempo changes, messing with the all ksp sequences. how can i make the 202 tempo be 'freezed” to no change in any case?
I just got the Akai Mini Play and Boss RC 505. Do I just connect Midi to computer and looper to computer? I thought the midi and looper needed a direct connection. I’m new to this, so I need help understanding how it all works together. Thanks!
Johnross Curtis that’s a good question, did you figure it out ? I would like to understand it as well, especially how ableton recognize the looper and the mk2. And on the bottom right of the screen the role of what looks like a voice recorder . Thx !!
Hey hey ! Are you working with Ableton Live? I have the same stuff (RC505 & APC) but I'm struggling to make them work together... Can you help me with that by any chance ? :) Cheeeers
Hi! I use Ableton Live sometimes, what are you struggling with? If the problem is to have them working at the same time in Ableton Live it's probably a configuration problem (in your DAWgo to settings/ MIDI/... and check if both of them are activated). If you give me more info I can try to help you better 😅
Hola May.
What recorder did you use, in the description it says H6 although it doesn't look like one, but is that a Zoom H1? Looking for a solution to record from an RC-505 right now :D
