In Agrahara recepies too they did nellika pachadi , poricha kuzhambu same as you did. We do not add kadugu in nellika pachadi. We grind nellika, pachamilaga, coconut and then add thayir. We fry kadugu and karuvepilai..
My favorite nellikai pachadi.I remember my granny used to make this,nellikai jam,gongurai chutney & raw tamarind chutney.Those were the days to enjoy granny's special authentic dishes😃

Yes.. we are from same village, hence our cooking methods mostly be similar. Adding mustard seeds is optional.
Romba pramadham maami. We also make nellikkai pachadi same way .

You can use either of them. i would recommend fresh coconut
