Sorry to say...but Kerala kara melagakutal panna maata....mollagutal than pannuva.....mollagu in Malayalam is dry red chillie (melaga vathal).....melaga vathal/mollagu pottu panarthunala atha mollagutal solluva

Pachai kadala nicea vendhuduma. Engaluku kadala softa erukanum mam. I make this with Kothavarangai. Then Murungaikai and kathrika mixed too mam. But add kondakadalai pressure cooked. Both black or white goes good.

In Kerala Mulagushyam is not pepper based. Mulagu in Malayalam is red Chilies which we use. Not milagu as in Tamil.
Pepper is kurumulagu.
She said molakootal.
Molakishyam & molakootal are different.
Both are kerala recepies only.

Amma pls explain abt the Difference and ratio of ingredients of rasavangi, arachivitta sambar, thiruvathirai kootu, chidambaram gotsu, pitla, katrikai podi potta curry etc... I always end up with almost same taste ...
Also tambrahm kalyanam la sambar illama tiffin ku podura gostu recipe seithu kamingo

Thanks mami for sharing this. What a coincidence, I made chow chow poricha kootu today! You made exactly how my mom make, thanks again. My fav is this kootu, I make poricha kootu with chow chow, brinjal, pudalangai, beans, avarakkai and murungakai. This kootu goes well with suda suda satrumudhu (rasam), curd rice and also we have have it with dosa and idly. Whenever my mom makes poricha kootu, she makes vatha kuzambu, this is our ususal combination.
