I envy you so much. I was just a little too young. One of my first concerts was MTB at the old firehouse when they were playing “new shit” off their new EP, Beer Commercials. They still had Botch spray painted on some amps and guitar cases.
as much as I always love showmanship, watching that guy just throttle the fuck out of his guitar and then start bashing it to pieces is beyond satisfying. Best “last” show ever.
It's surreal watching videos of this final show from 2002...knowing that I saw them absolutely destroy everything last week in NJ with Cave In and Converge. I hope they keep going, but even if this tour is all they do... I'm so fucking thankful they did it, and that I got to see such a legendary band.
Hands down the greatest hardcore band in the history of hardcore music. And one of my favorites of all time. I would give my first born to see a reunion show.
Botch is my absolute favorite defunct band... there's a lot of shit like it, yet nothing even comes close to what they were doing. not then, & certainly not now.
Swear to God I cried when I watched this. Just got to thinking about Botch because I saw Minus the Bear last night, and though the music styles are totally different, I am able to enjoy both of them. Minus the Bear is something good to come out of the Botch break-up, but I wish Dave were still doing this sometimes. It's impossible to say which I like better. I'd have to weigh the pros and cons. *sigh* there's so much good music thanks to people like Dave Knudson.
I'm glad I didn't give up when I was 18. I would have missed . . . this. Thanks for uploading. I love this stuff. Only Converge and Coalesce et. al. come close.
I can't help but get sucked into the emotion that was so heavy in this. I didn't even get into this scene until just after they broke up... heard 'em, fucking loved it... then I got the horrible news that they weren't a band anymore. Can't wait to see Narrows though!
break* and the guitarist Dave Knudson said they thought they had reached their potential in a hardcore band and they all wanted to pursue new things, such as Minus The Bear, which Dave is in. But they have remained friends, so who knows, maybe they'll do a reunion tour.
I got my ass kicked at this show. It was scary but looking back it's been one of my best music memories. I've been to so many shows over the years - Botch was and remains the best live performance group.
I feel very lucky to have seen them before the end. They played a little shit hole in Atlanta and they filled that place up with sound. I've never seen a band do so much with so little.
Thanks to everyone for watching and liking this video over the last 12 years! I (Dave Larson) have a new UA-cam channel called Quarterbash that features all kinds of treasure hunting, including coins, rare vinyl, and nerdy collectibles. Come check it out: ua-cam.com/users/Quarterbash
Fuckin' epic. Why'd they split? The venue looks packed out so they obviously had the fanbase, they were highly respected in the underground scene and this performance could strip paint from the walls! Such a shame but i guess there's still the mighty Converge to listen to.
I sound probably like every other fan, but it'd be really awesome if they had a reunion. I'd like to see them at least once. I wish I had known them around the time they toured. These guys are one of the greatest bands to ever exist.
Norma jean has some explaining to do as why their song A Small Spark Vs. A Great Forest sounds a whole too much like I Wanna Be A Sex Symbol On My Own Terms by Botch
There's really nothing crazy about this last show. The only folks going nuts are the band members. The crowd is pretty tame for a hardcore show/last show.
mathcore bands don't split up. they divide.
I'd rather say, they are multiplying
.....and turn into alt college rock?
@@meesterdinglefritz2064 lmao is that a Minus the Bear joke
@@DevFromParaplegiance love Minus :)
That is a GOAT comment. Love it.
I was at this show. It was about 10,000 more intense than it sounds here.

Best “last” show ever.
Agreed. I even like the quote marks around "last."
(I'm holding out for a reunion too)
This is one of the greatest things ever in hardcore music.
It's always emotional when something honest dies.
This comment speaks volumes

A-fucking-men.
Nothing really dies. they are back now,and that's proof!!
Watching this in 2020 brings a tear to my eyes. These were the days
I hope you made it out to one of the reunion shows bro!
Can't believe they're touring again. Please play man the ramparts at Fonda! Never thought id live to see them live.
These guys had the biggest influence on me, musically, than any other band I've ever listened to! Still, to this day, they never cease to amaze me!!
So glad that they came back together to tour after 20 years.

Pure destruction. Pure beauty.
Fuck! Chills watching this imagining I was there...
absolutely the best ending ever. amazing
I was at this show (and many Botch shows over the years). This video brings back good memories.
That's holy fucking insane. So intense, even from this old recording.
Botch is my absolute favorite defunct band... there's a lot of shit like it, yet nothing even comes close to what they were doing. not then, & certainly not now.
THIS WAS ESSENTIAL!!!!!! ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL BANDS EVER!!!!!!!!!!
HOLY SHIT
This is Metal history.
sad, that i'll never see these guys.
Were you able to make it happen after all?
12 years later I keep coming back to watch this video.
I can't believe when this band was around KoRn and Limp Bizkit was considered "heavy" it makes me sick to my stomach.
subjectivity
btw, have you heard black sheep wall and admiral angry?
@@Mgtr14 Admiral Angry is fucking MEAN!
It's OK, my dude. This isn't for them, anyways...:)
wow...so much passion....i love it!! BotCh ftw!!

Now that’s what I call going out with a bang. This never gets old.
awesome video. pure energy.
It was so chaotic, the bouncer got confused and was about to throw one of the band members off stage.
I'm glad I didn't give up when I was 18. I would have missed . . . this. Thanks for uploading. I love this stuff. Only Converge and Coalesce et. al. come close.
Saw Converge twice. Never Botch (UK)
Good I miss these guys, saw them at the blue mouse theater in Tacoma. 🤟🏼
Why have I just discovered this band, amazing
oh man this is metal
that was really intense.
They’re fuckin back!

i cant fucking believe i never got to see them, BOTCH WILL NEVER DIE EVER!!!!
Sick

i def just cried
just awesome.

I’ve always heard this was where minus the bear and these arms are snakes came from but I’ve never heard the story
This is literally the hydra being killed and split apart for those other bands to be born
it's not that everyone forgets them..it's the fact that they're underground to the underground
I never listened to these guys before, but this is epic.
I wouldn't expect anything less. What I would do to have been there
I feel very lucky to have seen them before the end. They played a little shit hole in Atlanta and they filled that place up with sound. I've never seen a band do so much with so little.
That's Chauncey. They remarked on it in their commentary on the 061502 DVD.

What a way to go....fuck!!
@Altered6Chicken It's the 2nd half of "Man the Ramparts" by Botch. For some reason the first half of the song isn't shown in this vid.
EPIC.
6 people had a seizure right as they were about to press the "Like" button
At least they left some music behind to be remembered...
And there is Narrows too...
100% agreed
powerful
Epic 😭
shits fucking epic as hell
Whoa!!! Tacoma, WA hardcore represent!
Do I see 2 bassplayers?
One with a Fender Jazz and one with a bass that looks like a Gibson Ripper?

Burzarma Botch - Man the ramparts
I was a this show. it was beast.
@omnidye you also are a genius, I personal am just a drunk botch fanboy
@DCslayerX are you kidding!? It's two completely different styles. Both very innovative bands also. MTB more on the melodic / experimental side.
I wanna reunion to happen so badddddddddd I wasn’t even born when this happened

totally. almost to the point of copyright infringement.
fucking sick
one of the shows staff members tried throwing the bassists off stage once he got back on
why is there like 5 people on guitar lol
Действительно как в последний раз!(
what loop pedal does Dave use? i know that in MTB he's using a bunch of DL-4's. same for Botch?
oh dave knudson
