Works a treat- and puts a sparkle into all the places a toothbrush can't reach. Very much obliged.
Great.. thanks for the lovely comment
Love the natural stone in your home. Great tips as well. Cool laumdry powder tin, too.
Thank you so much for the lovely comments.
Ikr! 😅❤
Amazing! This worked like a charm 😉. Thanks for the demo.
OMG! Thank you for this information! I use soap pods instead of laundry powder, so I put a healthy squirt of Dawn dishwashing liquid into the bowl instead. Within five seconds I could see a huge difference in my tarnished sterling silver jewelry! I appreciate how laid back you were with the amount of each "ingredient". No measuring. Yay!
Thank you! Thank you for your comments. I’m so pleased this worked so well for you
It worked beautifully! Thank you! I have three Pandora bracelets and one is full of charms. But I shook and moved them around on the bracelet and everything came clean. I really appreciate you taking the time to showing us how to do it.
Thanks for the positive feedback. Really appreciated. Thank you.
Thank you! This worked better than the Pandora cleaner. The shine is back!
So pleased to hear this.
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I have a really old ring made of sterling silver and a huge teardrop amethyst... I did this and WOO HOO!!!! It looks new!!!!! I didn't want to scrub like you were saying you didn't want to do earlier, especially between the tiny little 'teeth' surrounding the stone, the leaves, and the little swirls of 'Ivy'. I didn't have powder laundry soap but used powder (dishwasher) dish detergent... Stirred, dropped it in and held my breath. lol It wasn't even in there ten seconds, and I could see it shining!! I pulled it out, rinsed it, dried it off with a soft cloth and it looks like I just bought it last week! THANK YOU THANK YOU
WOOT WOOT!!! Just did my 30+ yr SS thick hoop earrings... OMG!!! YAY!!!!! THANK YOU AGAIN!
Thank you for the SUPER positive comment - so pleased that you are happy with this way of cleaning your valuables. Certainly my favourite method I’ve found.

What laundry powder did you use? I mean is it like Persil or Ariel? 😄
@@angieatrouni4532 Dawn dish soap ( blue liquid)
I was a bit scared to try it but it worked thank you so much 😊
Great news. Pleased to know this worked for you.
It works… I used Dawn dish soap instead. My Pandora bracelet got tarnished during house cleaning. I even threw my wedding ring in them to see what it did. And it came out very clean.
I do it with all tgos3 ingredients but us3 dish soap. Works great!
Pleased that you have found a Mehdi that works for you 🧼
Thank you!! It worked!!

Thanks sooo much!!!❤
You are so very welcome.
I'm going to try this
Worked perfectly
Great to know. Glad this working for you.
Thank you so much 😊
You are very welcome 🤗
Can’t wait to try this! Would this work on a sterling silver and gold David Yurman bracelet?
If it has gold with if the bracelet leave out the detergent as this with make gold go black. 😀
i am going to do mine right now thanks
Great. Hope you are pleased with the results.
Works like a charm. Just did mine they were black came out shiny. Thanks for the tips!!!
Great to hear, thank you very much for your comments.
Thanks, I have two Pandora bracelets and a necklace. Unfortunately silver reacts with my skin and tarnishes very quickly, particularly the necklace. I will give this a go.
Good luck - I am sure that you will have great results.
i' m goin to try this on my Pandora😳👍
Go for it. Sure you will get great results.
awesome!
Thanks!!! 🧽 🧼
Thanks so much
You're very welcome!
You don't need any of this, only dish detergent and warm water. Leave for an hour in and good to go.
I am pleased you have found a method that works for you.
That worked really well. Would a bit of white vinegar help activation do you think?
I’ll be honest Neil, I have not tried it. If you do please let me know how you get on.
Glad it worked well for you.
Wow!
Thank you
Fantastic! Do you know of any materials that would be harmed by this process? Like gemstones, glass, or other metals that may be part of the silver piece being cleaned? If so, how would you modify the process?
Hey there, this method isn’t great with yellow gold, you will need to leave out the detergent as it is can lead to the gold going slightly black. It will need wiping afterwards. You will be safe will other materials thought. Sorry for the slow response.
@Noel Schwartz I'm sorry to disagree with Rob, but some things must absolutely not be cleaned this way. Real pearls, enamel & some gemstones can be damaged by immersion in water alone, never mind the added chemicals. Also, plain sterling silver should be rinsed with clean water after cleaning as residue left behind can cause damage.
Never clean pearls or opals this way .
Love ur dog
Thank you so much. I’ll let him know.
Worked well! Do I need to rinse afterward?
Sorry for the slow response. I would suggest yes
this is the first video i’ve seen that actually cleaning my bracelet
Pleased your pleased. 🧼
I’m going to try this I just watched another video where I boiled the dawn soap and a little baking soda but it’s still not cleaned mines was pretty tarnished and filthy! Will I damage anything if I try this method after doing the other method?
I hope that you tried this. It really is a great method.
What was the first substance you put in the water
Hey there, it was bicarbonate of soda.
Sweet
Thanks Roxann
Can you use dawn in place of laundry detergent?
Hey there. You can. This will work well
Be careful doing this as it will take the oxidation off the details on the charms which should be darker
I’ve been doing this for several years and at these levels this has never occurred. All details still very clear.
@@lorabuddyandrob2290 ive seen quite a few ladies in a pandora group I'm in that have ended up with some very shiny charms after using the aluminium foil method but no darkened defined oxidising like on the charms originally, maybe they left the charms in too long, and needing to reoxidise (chemical or egg method) or wait a very long time for original darkened sections to return. 🤷🏼♀️
@@bricknan my concern using this method is the salt. I am wondering if the bracelet should have been rinsed in warm water and dried to make sure there is nothing still on the bracelet as the salt may corrode the silver. Also can you use this method if the charms have stones in them?
Good to know , I own gold and am getting a silver bangle :)
@@elisabeth2149 oh thanks , I have a good cleaner from the store I use, I meant I have never owned silver before so this is helpful .
Interesting about the gold tho so salt cleans it ?
I also heard the more you wear your silver the less it tarnishes ?
@@elisabeth2149 👍🏼😉
Great to here that you getting a new bracelet.
@@lorabuddyandrob2290 thanks super excited ! I bought another one as silver is so affordable . My gold bangle was thin and hollow so broke after just a few wears and cost so much :( I just fear it tarnishing so hope that doesn’t occur.
THANK TOU rock star
Big thanks Karen.
Can i ask what’s the use of aluminium foil? Can I do without it?
Hey there Miffy. You need the Aluminium foil. There is a transfer of Ions that moves between the silver and the aluminium that helps to clean. Basically the dirt and grime jump from the silver to the aluminium.
can you use liquid detergent or does I have to be powder
Hey there. I have spoken to a few people that have said liquid detergent works well. Go for it.
Will conditioner work as in fabric softener conditioner the liquid stuff that goes in the washing machine?
Hello, this needs to be waging detergent. Sadly fabric softener won’t work.
@@lorabuddyandrob2290 but can you use liquid detergent?
@Julie Fiedler I saw where someone said they used liquid dish soap instead of the detergent & it worked for them. So, I'd say it's worth trying. I only have liquid detergent too
Don’t do it….all the patina will be gone! Your silver will turn out dull and lifeless. Polish with silver cleaner and a soft cloth.
Thanks for your comment Jill. Appreciate your opinion here but at these levels this simply doesn’t happen.
itsss workkk thanksss a lotttttt
You’re very welcome 😀
It is work for rose gold, cause mine is rose gold
Suhailah, your is silver or rose gold
@@madzlinah silver
Will this remove any black accents on silver that were originally part of the piece?
I would have thought so.
I have been using this method for years on my wife’s and friend’s jewellery. I have never had an issue. However if overdone it is possible to remove the oxidation.
❤❤❤
Thanks Lynda
Can this be used on jewelry with precious (diamonds) and semi precious stones.
Hey there. Yes. My wife’s has a few charms with stones in and this works well.
Is this cleaning method safe if bracelet has pearls on them?
Hey there. Yes. No problem. Go for it
Clever boy
Thank you very much Carol.
Can I use liquid laundry detergent instead? Got no powder.
Yes. This will work. 👍
This is wonderful for jewelry of any type that
You don't want the oxidation on them, but some pieces are ment to have the oxidation,
Just saying lol thank you
Hey there, thanks for you comment. You are completely right, this process, if overdone could remove the oxidation from certain charms. However at this short exposure time, this just isn’t a problem. I have done this dozens of times and never had any issues on multiple charms and bracelets.
Can this be used on a silver and pearl bracelet?
It can. The method won’t damage the pearl in any way.
Being a jeweler for 30 years, do not put your pearls in this solution.
Will it work on gold too?
Hey Jacanory. It will work on gold but please leave out the detergent.
It works no scrubbing
Nice and easy
What does the foil do in this?
It attracts the grime.
Good news for us all. Extra ingredients are soap & salt & warm h2o. Better write it down imm.
Thanks.
