What an unbelievably dense individual. Proud of Travis for not shying away from the real talk this interview. I half expected him to back down from the Tryndamere nothing answers (we need redemption, we need to be excellent!) but he kept his foot pressed down in spite of it.

He's pretty smart about games and development, I don't think he's all there when it comes to "a great riot experience" or just generally managing people though.
Like, it honestly just sounded weird the way he talks about employees and company issues. Like, he can't call out shitty behavior as anything worse than "making the Riot experience not excellent".

Thanks Riot! Since the early golden days of Blizzard I was a huge fan of their games, but as time passed it became less and less. With LoL that my gf introduced to me a couple of years back and with all new games in the pipeline I feel like Riot is the new king! The new top favorite with the right business idea and with a good listen to the wishes from the players!

I'm still very upset over the Galio rework and I don't think i will ever get over it. Wish they would atleast give him his on damage heal back. But you know.. they talk about failures but dont fix something easy.
Galiö that's not a fix, thats just a preference change... I hated old galio and like the new one.
@@Klipik12 it would also make Galio more of a tank and incentives more tank items and/or allows Galio to build spirit visage.
I dont care for the burst mage style that is shoved down our throats when his intent was to remain a tank.
Just because you didn't like the rework doesn't mean its a failure
@@barney2120 its playrate is barely higher than before except for when he is busted and he is a huge problem in pro play, it also alienated many pre-Galio reworks. Although it's a success in some aspects it's also a failure in just as much.

@@vfactor95 and another thing too just because dunkey has benefited from playing league does not devalue the work hes done to get where he is. Marc does not get credit for what dunkey has done just like Steve Wozniak wouldn't get credit for any and all work you have done on a computer. Yes they created this thing but that does not mean they now get all credit for the work that was done with the tool.
@@vfactor95 All I was saying is that Dunkey for years promoted their game and did it successfully and he got no recognition for it, while others have done less and have gotten more recognition.

I don't know if Marc is gonna read this, i'll put it here anyway.
I don't know if it's true since everything is so obscured at Riot, but it really seems that all the people that made the company great and gave it an idea of what they were doing left.
The art department now that IronStylus is gone is filled with random skins that make no sense thematically and are just a mess.
The voice acting is ABYSMAL, i've actually muted the in voice game sound because of the INSANE length of the lines, the awful voice actors and the literally 1st year theater student dialogues, especially the new Ez, just destroyed a character and you all seem to not care when you had characters like Kalista, Jhin, AATROX, AZIR, DIANA, NOCTURNE, JARVAN, OLD KAYLE especially the legendary skin with just amazing dialogue with so much thought put into it that sent chills down the spine, and now it's all literally not even bland that you can listen to it, it's unlistenable for more than one line, all the people working on them should be just thrown out and put back whoever was there before, because this is just insanity.
The narrative department is just nothing, you made Varus that gave everything he had to protect humanity before the ones he loved to a thing i'm not even going to write because of how completely ------ it sounds. And then you haven't even changed his lines, you've done nothing about it, even had a video for it and still nothing that makes sense in any way after 2 years?
I thank whoever fought for not changing the Renekton lines to those awful things i heard in the Shurima's video, just like for whoever fought for Azir lines. Because this is what it feels like, that you've a bunch of nothing and someone in there trying to fight to keep them from destroying everything.
You had such an amazing game in every department, and it's slowly dying one by one and it's just odious. I used to read the old narrative because it was short and sweet, the Nautilus one was so well written.
The gameplay part as well, notice how Top Lane is seen as a joke right now that has no impact and does nothing all game and gets no respect, that's because you changed EVERY champion top lane to be the slowest most predictable nothing that gets kited to death and makes you look like an idiot when you play it. Old darius with his q was fast, a melee that was kinda tanky, it's now the slowest most nothingness hated by everyone, Fiora was a fun champ with an awesome looking ult that just needed some tuning and a visual update, you made it a press Q machine and if you screw up your W that has a 25 second cooldown you're just dead.
But this last part is just put together with all the rest, because the game is just a complete mess on all sides. And don't get me started on the Honor System, i've known people getting to honor 0 and what they did is just spam ARAM because people there spam Honor so you get back faster because they noticed in Rankeds nobody ever honored them and usually because of this random "No bad words" that creates frustration in literally everyone playing but some tools that are probably the most unsufferable people in real life end up reporting everyone.
If you're reading this, this is the state your game is in right now. Every department is in complete disarray with no guidance by anyone, and it's just, as i used this word again and again but it puts into words what i think anyone feels about this, awful. Seeing that all of this is fixed and back to the standards that i and i think lots of other people put Riot some years ago, when i actually didn't think anything was wrong with any department and was actually one of the highest in every category they covered. Now that i think of it i missed the Music department as well, and i probably did because it's been steadily declining but not enough compared to other departments, it's pretty much the only one left that seems to be holding it together. If i wrote this is because i really enjoyed everything Riot did in the past and i think that they've lost an outside perspective of what they're doing and that's why everyone i've seen and made it public that they left did. Have a good one.
