The original map always felt too easy because you just need to catch Grom and run back. That's why I added the 25% HP requirement.
Even in the original, Grom respawns once you kill him. You can't lose by killing him.
You are right about the Phoenix, it has an invulnerable egg and always aggros onto Thrall after he picks up Grom.
Jayn's base is playable for 2 reasons: so people can get to use Jayn's ultimate that was teased in OoL and because Possession can help you with avoid void elf deaths.
I don't plan the missions with a specific unit comp in mind. I don't think I ever went Footman+Cleric+Banshee on this map.
Since you played OoL, I've added some new undead abilities that are researched at the Sacrificial Pit, which I also ported to this campaign, but sadly you didn't notice them. I wondered if I should make a hint to tell the player to check it out but it wouldn't make sense for people who already played the Undead one to get the hint again. These abilities are: allowing Abominations to Hook enemy units, making Gargoyles stun units when landing and Statues and Destroyers kill units that are below 20% HP. Being on Sac Pit it's pretty easy to miss them.
Vindicators are meant to be used as micro-rescuers. You swap with a low HP frontline unit to save it. They didn't always have a heal. The heal was also introduced with the idea of safeguard ability, not something you use casually. For more consistent healing, you have Cairne's heal with a Cleric's Invigoration.
The damage on cast of Clerics isn't that bad for them because they get it back very quickly. It's more of a flavor. For the inhuman check, the units that are treated as human are Peasants, Militia, Footmen, Clerics, Fire Mage, Acolytes, Necromancers and Shades. While it isn't spelled out in game, I thought it is a funny interaction of what they consider human.
The problem with the new units is that I try to make them balanced with the existing units, rather than making them slightly overpowered, which is usually more fun. I guess that's something I should change.
I was kinda disappointed at first when you complained about having 2 bases, but I'm happy you changed your mind by the end. I know you personally don't like these types of maps, but I've always liked them because it allows you to be more creative with unit comps, and also you have twice the supply. As for the void elf counter, I played the map when I first made it and got 120 kills and placed the limit at 200, a few updates later I changed it to 250. Possessing units, dying possessed units or killing mechanical units, faceless shifters (and units they turned into) and umbras do not count.
Ah, so dota contributed more than just voices, abilities as well, well done.
Personally I don't mind controlling 2 different factions at the same time, but I really dislike how Warcraft 3 does it where resources aren't shared. I would have much preferred it done the Starcraft 1 style where resources are shared, but supply isn't.
So you could still get twice the supply and won't run into situations where 1 faction is resource starved and the other isn't. Or you can pump one faction full of resources to rush up the tech tree.
I suppose you can get around this by allowing trading resources between the two factions but it is still pretty clunky.
I think some of the new units just take getting used to. But I noticed a lot of people were complaining about the lack of an area dispel, so that might be something to give to one of the units. I'd recommend the savage.
... Okay the idea of not having to kill too many idea units is a very interesting one in theory and make sense in lore, defintively very original, but... good god does it sounds like a nightmare to play in practice as it is.
At least then give more "non lethal" ways to deal with enemies, some sort of mas sleep or mass paralysis abilties. Because possession and regular sleep from a dread lord can ony go so far.
Hey Jay, nice content there you make. I really love your content and appreciate every comment and how cheerful you are when playing Warcraft. Greeting from Malaysia. May Jay and your family always in good health and been bless everyday. Good luckk Jayy!!
While I don't mind controlling 2 factions at once, I really dislike that resources aren't shared in Warcraft 3. This is part of the reason I never really liked the missions in Frozen Throne. Too many macro maps requiring me to control 2 different bases at the same time. Either make the resources shared like in Starcraft 1 or give me a competent AI ally.
I appreciate your help, Mister Aproudmoor.
Edit: you finding out that Anti-Magic Shell works as a dispel is one of the highlights of the year. It's the type of thing one doesn't really think about and then when they try it it's like "Huh, makes sense" (I found that out very recently too).
Also 21:24 that Spell Thief doing the Fairie Dragon thingy was something I didn't expect (must've missed it when Jay played as the void elves), it's like the perfect counter to all your casters.
I'm disappointed this mission isn't called By nagas be driven
But there aren't any nagas in the mission
We'll have to wait and see first, there'll be a HUGE surprise in store for tft campaigns(especially the watchers, you'll not believe it, tho not completely sure for naga equivalent).
7:14 hypocritical humour much...
Those Faceless One shifters seem like a fascinating enemy concept
Reminds a bit of those thrall masters from battle for middile earth 2(i bring filthy spearmen from the hills :P).
You have to braindead to call this mission bad. I refer to the comments and not Jay. I respect Jay for playing such hard mission but for anyone to call it bad, you really haven't played a bad mission in your life. Just try any mission in original Warcraft campaign! XD
So is Grom going to kill Mannoroth by smashing him with his invulnerable phoenix egg ?
He kills him with a flamestrike then falls and dies even though theres no explosion like in the cinematic lol
@@theiceman7590 he doesn't just fall. He is hit by something
@@xetanth87 Yeah I watched it again. That dranei uses shockwave on him when he uses flamestrike. But still, it looks funny
Lol
Since the original ending had both factions casting dispel on grom, i'm hoping theres a conga line of vindicators swapping places.
Edit: incredibly disappointed
I'm with you about having to control multiple separate economies.
I think if you have to control multiple factions maybe they should share a resource pool instead of hsving separate.
I do aplaud the efforts of the map maker though. It's not essy to make something like this with the alternative campaigns
A map where you're PUNISHED for killing elves?
That's a campaign that WAS good and interesting to this point
Thank you for appreciating the old age of Jayborino
I can understand the annoyance of having your economy split in two, but on the bright side, you do get two different supply caps.
Totally
I feel like in the next New age®, any map with 2 bases + techtrees will result in instant whosyourdaddy so he can leave one faction completely alone. 😄
Please play the Warcraft 3 enhanced Campaign by Soviet
Also why do you hate it man? I feel like that really spices up the campaign.
Hate what?
I think he's referring to having to control Jaina's base. You said at the beginning you hate it a few times. I completely agree with you. I've always liked playing with AI allies, even when they're brain dead. Controlling multiple factions can be exhausting. Its why I don't care for the Blood Elf/Naga campaign.
Ah, another soviet-enhanced disciple, well met. He added the option of using jaina and her base or leave them as allies, they were quite capable there with all the extras.
@@ivanivanovic5586 Jaina's Units were a bit mixed since the food limit was only 100.
@@shellshock7043 I remember her (blank) footmen tearing more than few fel orcs a new one(just as new(blank) towers making short work of them infernals).
Oh boy I've spent this whole series knowing Jay was gonna hate this one. I don't dislike this map, but it is very stressful.
Hey Jaborino, do you like playing multiple factions in Warcraft 3 with separate economies?😀
I guess Frontline like abomination and knight would be great and spellcsster is vindicator and banshee
Next one is race swap of night elf's as orc alter
Nice use of og warcraft sinematics tho
Jay play tides of war
At least void elf units don't have too much meat(hp) on them compared to the fel orcs, so it's easier in ways(perhaps taking a page from soviet's book could be useful(option of playing 2 bases or leave as ally instead).
Possible night blindness? Less I say about imitation the better(obligatory no offence meant or implied).
Curious to see the tft campaign now(when done) considering our elf friends here.
Yeaaah... I dislike when mods add difficulty by stacking extra layers of complexity and micromanagement on you. I didn't like it when when the Long War mods for XCOM did it either. And, as a rather large fan of AI-controlled allies, I _OBJECTED_ to having mine be taken away, and be forced to control their stuff myself, instead. Add in the "Don't kill too many enemies" lose condition, when I usually clear the map simply because I can?
I refused to even attempt this mission. I stopped here.
250 is obsenely high btw. You have to make an effort and stall the mission for like 2 hours for it to ever be an issue
@@andre-8420 Did you miss the part about my having fun clearing the map? It's not about "it's easy to avoid it."
The fact that I _have_ to avoid it in the first place is the problem. Yes, I know why it's there. I don't care. It is a extra lose condition that does not need to exist, and one that forbids a particular style of play that is enjoyable on this particular map.
@@andre-8420 it's never good in an RTS to force the player into a particular play style, especially one that punishes you for engaging with the enemy, and what makes it worse is that this campaign is already a copy and paste of another, so this map is just effectively a worse version of an already existing map.....
@Blazieth that's on you for not adapting your style of play to fit the map, and not the other way around
Basically
Skill issue, lmao

what is wrong with you ?
upload video every day pls
He posted a video a few days ago where he basically said "My old bones ache!", so he is cutting back on creating as many videos just to maintain an update schedule.
Too busy with Amir’s mom, she wants all my time
@@nightlock2346 He's got a full-time job and a family. He shouldn't work himself to death just to give us more content.
I'd prefer a good content creator that goes at their own pace rather than overworks themselves to exhaustion for content, thank you very much.
@@elonstruths1475 I completely agree. I was just making a joke based on the number of times he mentioned in the video that he is old (including the title) and applied Cairne's famous line (which I sometimes apply to myself).
