    Hi, Jordan and Amber, thank you guys for this reaction!
    That's what I'm talking about, Zapp is one of my all time favorite band. Their next album, Zapp II, includes "Dance Floor" and "Doo Wa Ditty", but in my humble opinion, their best album is Zapp III (I still have the vinyl) wich includes "I Can Make You Dance", "Heartbreaker", "We Need The Buck" and my favorite Zapp's slow jam "Spend My Whole Life", please guys check that out. The New Zapp IV U, their fourth album, includes Computer Love and I saw your reaction to that song, but I highly recommend the extended version with Charlie Wilson from Gap Band on lead vocals and Shirley Murdock on backing vocals.
    Greetings from Brazil!

    • @acongojada

    • @caesiyt
      @caesiyt Рік тому +1

      Oh maybe I have some lost siblings because the other day I was asked the same question. Lol.
      My friend, I agree with you about "Been This Way Before", which is included on their fifth album, Zapp VIBE, released in1989 and from that album I used to listen to "Ooh Baby Baby". I am a fan of the genius Roger Troutman, he recorded 4 solo albuns, The Many Facets of Roger, The Saga Continues, Unlimited, and Bridging the Gap. Roger also produced for several artists like New Horizons, The Human Body, Sugarfoot (from Ohio Players), Bobby Glover, Dick Smith, Shirley Murdock and his son Lynch, who unfortunately also died. Roger is truly missed!

    • @acongojada
      @acongojada Рік тому +1

      @@caesiyt I remember looking up some songs from "the human body" that he was in. I didn't know his son died😢. His son had some music I liked as well. Have you heard their version of the song by the Commodores "Easy". I think its on UA-cam. Its absolutely one of my favorites. I don't know anyone who is as in depth about their music as you. That's why you must be my brother from another mother. Are you Latino? My family is from Cuba. Maybe we're cousins.LOL... Peace and blessings.

    • @caesiyt
      @caesiyt Рік тому

      @@acongojada Before being renamed Zapp the band was called Roger and The Human Body. The first Zapp song I heard was "Dance Floor" in 1982 and from that moment on they became one of my favorite bands of all time and that's why I know a little about them. I like their unmistakable sound, specially the romantic ballads long list produced by Roger for Zapp and others.
      About Lynch, I like the song "I Found Out" and also the remake of "No One Ever Will", originally recorded by New Horizons. After his father's death, Lynch recorded another album under his real name, Roger Troutman II. But tragically he also died under mysterious circumstances. You asked about the remake of "Easy", yes, I've heard it and I liked it, sorry but in my opinion this is one of those songs that no remake can be compared to the original. That's the humble opinion of a 53 year old Brazilian white guy who loves R&B style. I start to believe that maybe we are related. LOL. Now that you've told me that your family is from Cuba, I hope that you and all your loved ones are doing well, despite the long-established Castro dictatorship in your country. May God bless all the Cuban people. Peace

My younger brothers introduced Zapp and Roger's music to us so that they can practice their dance moves to them, along with "Dance Floor", "Doo Wa Ditty", "I wanna be your man" This song had me chair dancing along with you both! "Grapevine", their version of Marvin Gaye's song, is my favorite. 👍🏽

    I feel you on this one Jay.👍 BTW, "Jay" is my son's childhood nickname which I still find myself calling him sometimes, despite him being 40 years old now. I was full into the Funk, Soul and Disco sounds of the 70s & 80s. You have to remember that these songs were focused on "dance" with a consistent beat and groove to facilitate the masses that were flocking to the dance floors during that time. I guess it was easier for me because I could dance and for awhile, was often at a club and out on the dance floor. You're absolutely right, "Zapp & Roger are legends".
    You know, Ice Cube credits "More Bounce To The Ounce" for introducing him to "Hip-Hop". It's such a shame what happened to them, RIP.😕 I haven't heard this song in such a long time and it brings back memories for me. I immediately began thinking about artists like Dunn & Bruce Street, Alexander O'Neal, Colonel Abrams, Skyy, The Ohio Players, Central Line, Midnight Star, etc.. There's just too many lost artists and sounds that the newer generations will never know anything more about than a few seconds of a sampled loop. Bring it back Jay.😉 Peace & Love🕊❤

    Technically, Zapp is a group. Roger (Troutman) is a solo artist. Roger was n the group Zapp with his brothers(Troutman). Originally auto tune( voice box).

    Roger Troutman was a musical prodigy like Prince! He played 10 instruments!! And patented the vocalize! It sent electric charges into your throat through the tube.

    I remember when this came out !!! I was 12 and usually it was followed up with something from the Gap band or S.O.S. Band ... I surfed the radio stations from R&B to Rock and Blast them both equally . All while dancing around the house cleaning house and doing my chores ..I'd be mad as H**L but the rhythm takes hold and it makes cleaning go much faster if you get lost into the beat of some good music ... Good times !!!
