They didn't have to go this hard for a Captain Harlock vinyl album, but I'm glad they did. The use of music, sound effects and the cast really helps make you feel immersed into the titular captain's endless fight for freedom. Harlock said it best himself in another animated series: "This flag stands for freedom. And I live for what it stands for. No one will stop me from living life on my terms."
So it seems that this isn't a dub of any particular set of episodes but an adaptation/preview of the series, an original production in the end. Very interesting.
There's an almost mystical nature to any English language anime material made before any of the pop culture media giants even existed (e.g transformers, star wars, robocop, etc.) Like a portal to a time that never could have took place, where we would gaze at a Macy's Thanksgiving parade balloon of the Arcadia.

The use that 'space' sound effect I hear in Filmation cartoons.
