That 2.7 needs to find its way into the Fusion. Those are better peak numbers than the standard BMW 335i. That engine in the Fusion with AWD would be something serious.
goatmonkey2112 I had the 2.0 Fusion, and that engine is more than enough for a midsize sedan. I've had five adults in that car, including me, and it pulled like I was the only one in there. I now have a 2016 Lincoln MKZ, with the same 2.0. There is no loss of power. I do feel that 2.7 should be an option instead of the naturally aspired 3.5.
Good video EXCEPT for one thing, the camera person needs to get a clue! When the Ford guy is explaining something on the engine, the turbo in this case, and he's obviously pointing to the part he's talking about, IT NEEDS TO BE IN FRAME!
Can't wait for the review on this car from TFL. So far all of the reviews that I've seen have been outstanding. I'm very interested in your opinions Roman. Funny that the least interesting engine is the V6.
As an owner of a 2008 Ford Edge Limited SEL. I can say that the car drives great. The all wheel drive is very responsive. The engines on the other hand are very poorly designed which is why they're coming out with these new ones. The older edges are notorious for have oil issues. The oil doesn't flow through the engine properly jamming the cams up and causing the phasers to fail. It's a $1800 dollar fix. I feel that's a problem with a motor that only has 56k miles on it. Because of this, I've lost a ton of faith in the Ford brand. I've always been brand loyal. This makes it tough to even consider owning another one.
Note to Roman, a Ford 460 CID engine was specified as being 7.5 liters and its lowest factory rating was 208 horsepower. It also had 365 lb*ft of torque at 2600 rpm. A marginal mechanic could have that engine making over 500 horsepower in a weekend.

They need a larger engine in the fusion. Small engines are fine for those who want them but a larger engine in a smaller car is the best combination of size, fuel economy, and horsepower. Especially if you want that Middle Class Aston Martin.
Jonathan Washington That is true that larger and heavier engines lead to less fuel economy and lowered handling, but the reality is that the Ecoboost engines aren't small nor light. The 3.5L Ecoboost V6 is heavier than the 6.2L V8 in the Silverado and the 2.0L Ecoboost I4 is about 80lbs heaver than the 2GR-FE 3.5L V6 used in a lot of Toyota's like the Camry. The 2GR-FE has been in production for over 10 years now. The Ecoboost engines are all about lowering emissions to meet new CAFE standards by 2020. Ecoboost engines are very clean engines but they do not offer the real world MPG gains that everyone was hoping for, nor do they help with handling due to their increase in weight.
Chris Biz Nope they give good mpg in vehicles with lighter kerb weight, Currently Fusion is heaviest sedan of all midsize sedans The current Fusion Titanium AWD is as heavy as a full size Chevy Impala v6
