Gruberova Lucia Mad Scene pt. 1 - 1982 Vienna Staatsoper

Edita sings Lucia's mad scene from a complete production from the Staatsoper in 1982. A poorly lit scene (or at least video) but it is taking place in a Scottish castle after all! Some nice use of chest voice also! One can hear and see why this role became one of her calling cards.

Right, I'm sure SHE came up with this idea!!! Stage Directors usually have the last say as to what takes place on stage along with the General Manager NOT the singer. She was probably doing what she was told to do.

Hmm, she's wearing a nightie rather than wedding dress, and where's the blood? She looks rather washed out in that wig and nightie too. But amazing voice. Terrific rendition.
