It is quite normal for families to nag about marriage. Marriage is simply something one need sacrifice to have children and future. Jong kook just felt the pressure about his timing and age. The older he got, the more pressure he has.
Esecially since it's quite frown upon in Korea to have a child without being married, it makes things a bit more complicated

There, ppl would casully tell their child that their classmate only have mom/dad, is poor, having disabled parents or other problem that actually not need to be talk abt to a child and gossiped. Worse, they let their kids bully/mock that child abt it, even defend their child when confronted abt their wrong doing. this is really happen in sk and is common. the bullying rate is high bcs one of the reason is that parents are ALSO frowning upon their child classmate who is unfortunate, giving bad example. so meddle some.

In our family (though i believe it happens to some here in our country), when your age wasbout to jump out of the calendar they will start to nag you about marriage.
Family gathering makes me want to hide far from the venue because every relative will keep asking you about when will you get married. Your not getting any younger. Your younger sibblings or cousins were already married,etc.

Also about marriage, I understand it gets harder to find someone as you grow older (I experience the same) since you wouldn't like to change to your life style that you are used to. But when you are old, most people need a companion by their side..it gets too lonely. That's why his family and relatives nags him a lot about it, just because they are concerned that he will be lonely when his family dies. In my opinion he should open up a bit more and find someone who is more compatible with his life style, love does not last too long instead compatibility and respect are what he needs to look for in a woman..
